Camden market is pretty much the same as most other markets around the world. You get the 50 stands selling the same shirts and then a few locale-specific souvenirs.
And noo, your new home is edinburgh. So I can steal you away for hugs.

she didn't say it was islamic culture, she said it was Iraqi Muslim culture though. She did make that distinction.
and sure you can try to look at it objectively, but just as my example with the new-years dive, the fact that you don't participate in it, doesn't exclude it from the culture.

In other news, I recorded a quite fun kill I did while playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Unfortunately, the local recorder in the game doesn't record Skype. I was nerdgasming and screaming "OH GOD WAAAAT" and things like that.

When would the best time to be sneak behind a group of people in this scenario?
If that isn't convenient, I don't know.

Yes, but this whole thing started because somebody else, not the women, called it Islamic (Muslim) culture :). I'm not arguing that it isn't Iraqi Muslim culture, it might be for all I know. But it definitely isn't Islamic culture.

In related news, 2 years ago in Malaysia I saw a woman wearing a full black burka (or however is spelled), no eyeholes or anything, on a jetski. Looked hilarious.
"That's not practical jet ski wear!"

No it's not. Camden is pretty much the epicentre for relatively cheap genuine vintage clothes, accessories and schiz. Only other place in the UK you'll find as well-made and unique vintage clothes is Portobello market, and its a lot more expensive there.Lyniath wrote:Camden market is pretty much the same as most other markets around the world. Re: Tzeentch's Thread of Everchanging Topics
The market it self is a lot better on the weekend. Still, most stalls remain open on weekdays, there is just less of an 'atmosphere' (though, that comes with the benefit of there being less crowds).
The overwhelming majority of boutiques and vintage shops remain open all week though. I would go there while you still can, but if you get the opportunity to go their on the weekend: take it!

You know its bad when someone from the middle-east is telling you that where you live is antiquated.Shaelyssa wrote:pfff tell me about it. and the metro here is so antiquated and cramped and just generally awful too pff

Yup, I live near a place called Eel Pie island.Helmfrid wrote:Is it true you Londoners eat eel-pies?
Though, its mostly east Londoners, offer some eels to an Islington hipster and they'll bombard you with hummus and organic beans.

I always thought it was like a myth or something.. I first heard about it from an episode of Mighty Boosh.
