Some american thing, think SOPA stands for "Stop Online Piracy Act", wich as I understand is to stop any spread of stuff that you don't own. Think about youtube, any song there would have to be removed, every last snippet of tv, atleast for U.S. companies. If not, internetproviders have to stop allowing sites and search engines to stop giving sites as the results, wich sounds a bit like -INTERNETCENSORSHIP- !

The hilarious irony here is that this page actually links to a Wikipedia article, while Wikipedia itself is of course also joining the stunt. This just shows how crippled the internet would be without Wikipedia.

SOPA and PIPA bases on giving an attorney the right of blocking a pages DSN on the basis of a ... I'm not sure of the expression but well, warrant. The DA can -ask- for it being blocked.
And without a judge or jury it will.

Honestly, I find this whole "Stop online piracy act" a complete and utter joke. While they shut down free websites where you can watch videos, like YouTube, or if you want to search for information for free, like Wikipedia, there are still 36757835837593876543785636789 websites with porn of all titles and genres, racist websites, pirated games/music/movies websites, that are hosted outside the U.S. Yeah, great job, you fat slobs. This bill is never going to pass anyway. As explained in the Wikipedia article, it is pretty ineffective in its actual goal, i.e the tackling of copyright infringment, and will do a whole lot more damage to the American economy by sabotaging all the money that is being earned trough succesful business models based on a free Internet right now and only saving a wee bit that would otherwise be salvaged by combatting piracy. In other words, a netto loss.
