Ever since the dawn, the hearts of all natural born creature have been blessed with a loving spark of Light. First it sounds like a faint whisper, growing more powerful as the hearer heeds its benevolent guidance until it finally peaks in a magnificent chorus. Though the Light's grace and loving-kindness is limitless taken on its own, it is threatened everywhere by the forces of Darkness that conspire to consume it. The Shadows distort our perception of the Light in a myriad of ways, leading us to stray from the Light under which all creatures tread by nature. It has been by the mercy and wisdom of the eternal Naaru that the Draenei people first learned to purge their mind of any lies, and their souls of any taints that would prevent them from realizing the most important truths about the cosmos; that the Light's love is limitless, that it loves all its children equally, and that all naturalborn creatures are its children.

For centuries we have have lived according to the way of the Naaru, embracing the Light trough their divine revelations. Throughout many millenia of faithful worship the Draenei have mastered the arts of cleansing the soul of taints, purging the mind of distractions, and reaching enlightenment trough the Naaru's guidance. We now invite our allies to join us on our journey to reach spiritual enlightenment. Open your hearts to the Naaru; Open your hearts to the Light, and let it embrace you in return. The wisest Anchorites have toiled endlessly to adequately translate the wisdom of old, and now that the City of Light has opened its walls to all who seek refuge from the Darkness, the time is right to make the wisdom of the Naaru common knowledge to all. Let their cosmic song echo throughout time and space, to even reach the universe's darkest places!

Anchorite Thelos has been appointed as High Priest of the Naaruvada, an Order dedicated wholly to echoing the Naaru's song. The High Priest seeks both experienced Anchorites that have been guiding their brethren for eons, mighty Vindicators to act as beacons of Light in the ongoing war against the Legion, kindred souls who are already treading the way and are in need of guidance in these turbulent times, and darkened souls in need of enlightenment. Experienced priests and priestesses who are experienced on a different path to the Light are most welcome to come share their wisdom also.

To clarify the purpose of the Naaruvada, the High Priest has established four goals:

• To systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to the races of Azeroth at large and to educate all races and peoples in the techniques of spiritual life in order to check the imbalance of values in life and to achieve real unity and peace in the world.
  
• To propagate a consciousness of The Light, as it is revealed by the Naaru to Velen and other chosen prophets.
  
• To bring the races of the Azeroth together with each other and nearer to The Light, the prime entity, thus to develop the idea within the members, and the sentient races of Azeroth at large, that each soul is part and parcel of the quality of the cosmic Light
  
• To bring about the final end of the Burning Legion and to purify and cleanse all the damage it has done to creation.
  

Any who seek attracted to join this noble cause is to seek out any disciple of the Naaruvada or the High Priest himself in his residence on the Aldor Rise, Shattrath, or the Cathedral of Light, Stormwind, where he can most often be found offering his spiritual guidance to the fair people of the Human kingdom.

Naaruvada, or “Way of the Naaru” in Eredun, is a religious order founded to propagate the spiritual heritage of the Naaru as it is interpreted by Anchorite Thelos [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. It is an initiative to both deepen and broaden Draenei roleplay by emphasizing the spiritual. Though the concept should chiefly appeal to Draenei, it is not in the Naaru's nature to keep their teachings to any one race. Any one who would open their heart to the Light is a welcome convert. Its potential members range from enlightened gurus to fresh converts, ancient Draenei to young and bright Humans. Naaruvada accepts any and all who are willing to learn about the Light trough the teachings of the Naaru among its ranks, even the undead or former demons seeking redemption.

In times of peace and reflexion the Naaruvadean can usually be found meditating and chanting around the Naaru, like A'dal in Shattrath or O'ros in the Exodar. However, every student is encouraged to trek into the worlds to bring the Naaru's Light to the darkest of places. Whether this takes to form of battling against the demon hordes of the Burning Legion, or to inspire and ward the army of Light's allies' hearts, the Naruvedean aspires to become a beacon of Light in an ever darkening wold. The goal of every Naaruvedean is to reach enlightenment by strengthening their own connection to the Light and that of others by materializing its benevolent will, making it their own. This is done by keeping a clear mind and acting in accordance to the Light's guidance.

Even those who are unwilling to accept the Naaru as the supreme source of Revelation, and cling to another source, are welcome to join the Order's many sermons and communal meditation sessions. Naaruvada recognizes all ways of the Light revealed the other races to be Lightgiven also, such as the doctrine of the Three Virtues, Anethionism, and Eluneism. These siblings of the Light will no doubt find some merit in learning about the many techniques and practices developed by the Naaruvada to bring oneself closer to the Light.

Ranks and Recruitment

The Naaruvada recruits any and all who are interested in Draenei and Naaru-centric spirtual roleplay in to their ranks. After a short OOC talk with either the GM or any of the officers, you will be invited as an Aspirant, which will mean you have joined the guild OOCly, but not yet ICly. Once you've joined the guild ICly trough an in game interview and recruitment process, you will be granted the title of Disciple, which is the standard rank for all members. A select few will be entrusted with a leadership position. For these a rank that would fit that particular position, for example Exarch for the Order's military commander, will be created. The Naaruvada, being a religious order first and anything else second, is lead by a High Priest.

To reiterate:

• OOC/ALT - The OOC/ALT rank is the rank for any OOC or ALT characters that might want to enter the guild for whatever reason.
  
• Aspirant - You have been invited OOCly but not yet ICly; the Apirant will have to make contact trough IC means with the Naaruvada leadership in order to be promoted to:
  
• Disciple - The standard rank for Naaruvada members.
  
• Officer - The current "empty slate" rank will be IC-lized once the supply and demand for such a title and position will rise.
  
• High Priest - The spiritual leader of the Naaruvada. The current High Priest is the Order's founder, Anchorite Thelos.

Most events hosted by the Naaruvada are not exclusive to the guild, but are rather spiritual get togethers, communal meditation sessons and masses that any one is free to attend. The spirit of Shattrath is to invite any one who seeks refuge from whatever Darkness into the comfort of the Light. It is not mandatory to join the guild to attend any spiritual events, nor is it mandatory to join the guild in order to be acknoweldged as one who follows the Way of the Naaru. The wisdom of the Naaruvada's Anchorites and Guru's will be made available to all who journey to the City of Light in search for guidance. This can include Horde characters as well!

For IC contact, a visit to High Priest's office on the Aldor Rise is recommended. The little office also has its own mail address, so any mail, in game or trough GHI, can be send to Thelos or another Officer and be considered send to the office on the Aldor Rise.

One of my main goals is definately to accomodate to this kind of roleplay. Hopefully we will be able to gather a healthy mass of people and a respectable frequency of gatherings, so that we can meaningfully incorperate tales of redemption and other religious themes into our roleplay. I look forward to using the upcoming [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] as a possible hook to draw such people and characters in. In the mean time, we will work towards buidling a strong spine of players.

I think I should mention that while Naaruvada is, by the lmitations of the game, an Alliance guild, as a religious order based upon propagating the teachings of the Naaru, we are open to roleplaying with other Lightloving races also. The Blood Elves, trough the effort of the Scryers, have shown themselves to be powerful allies of the Naaru also. The Naaruvada's allegience is to the Naaru first, and any political entities second. It is one of the reasons that we have chosen Shattrath as our base of operations: to accomodate for the the wishes for those of the Horde who seek the guidance of the Naaru.

The difference between a Vindicator and an Anchorite is, so I have found out, considerably less significant than the difference between a priest and a paladin. Vindicators, unlike paladins, do not have the whole Knightly Chivalry thing going on; they are pretty much just Priests with shiny armor and combat training. So, I would just pick the class whose mechanics you find most entertaining. Paladins of course also have the added benefit of being able to wear all kinds of armor, while priests only get to wear cloth.

Hrmm, Paladin sounds nice. Having the ability to punch people in the face for being heretics is lovely.

To faction change a level 52 paladin would be silly, so I could just remake her. XD
