I worded that badly. They're not selling it for free, but they've put the whole album up for download for free. You can still pay for the album if you wish to.

And its only silly depending on how much of a factor you believe record sales and money should play in music. Death Grips clearly do not think it should play a big role, not that silly at all then, especially considering that most people pirate music now. I actually feel more inclined to buy Death Drips' album simply due to the fact that they're willing to adapt to the way music is consumed nowadays and not bullshit the fact that the majority of their income comes from touring as opposed to album sales.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here in Norway we have something called 'Russ'. It's a month filled with parties and generally just doing shit, you can also have a look at russ knots, many are quite weird. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russ
Here are a few examples of the kind of music that's pretty much entirely dedicated to this period.

I was just about to post about how their music is horrible and that it makes my ears bleed but now this song's stuck in my head and now I'm hooked ... their album cover freaks me out though, probably just "too deep" for me

Also, I discovered this website a couple of weeks ago last.fm (actually I think I saw it linked here on defias maybe? I dunno I don't remember but anyways) I don't know if that many people know about it, but ullah it's like a Godsend. Really great website for browsing music. You can search for any band or singer you like and look up similar ones or just browse around in the different genres. Great great great music searching tool

You may already have it, but last.fm is even better with the scrobbler, Shae. It scrobbles all the music you play on iTunes/winamp/foobar etc. and logs them on your last.fm profile and then gives you even more recommendations based upon those artists you've scrobbled.
