Somehow I find that Corleth's opinions actually matter to me. Which is completely ridiculous of course, he 's just some arrogant hipster. Pff.

I've known people call the Velvet Underground hipster before, sometimes even 'the first hipster band', so that may count towards something.

But really, John Cale transcends any hipster trends. The dude studied under La Monte Young, you can't really argue against that.

However, if you're one of these people that calls anything vaguely experimental or 'artsy' hipster, that piece would probably score a 8 or 9. Doesn't detract from the fact its a great song on a great album though.

The first time I heard it I hated it, and after leaving it a unlistened in iTunes a few months I decided to try it again (along with all the other less 'experimental' songs on the album, sanities, library of force etc.), and I found it very beautiful, but not in what way. And I still dont know what I find so touching in it. Maybe it's just the story that interests me, or the reading that's singing at the same time. Or both. I really don't know.
