Question about WH40KDoWII (SPOILERFREE)
I saw that you could pick up the complete collection (DoWII+2Expansions) last night on steam for £25 so I bought it. I played the original DoW game for a bit, love the mythos and I love rts games. I've read the reviews and so on for these games but I was wondering on peoples impressions on these games. Do they still hold up to todays standards and more specifically what are their online and co-op features like? (Mainly bought them for the campaigns but I'd love it if it had nice additional online modes.)

Just looking for opinions on the game and expansions really. I have bought it so it's not regarding that.

I have DoWII: Retribution, personally. Haven't played the other games, but Retribution is quite lovely. It's hard to get a foothold of the multiplayer side of things, though. People generally boot new players out of matches and hosted games can have some stability issues.
The game play side of things is great though. No base-building. No exploration. But pure ACTION! I found the campaign to be a bit dissappointing however. The description said every race has its own campaign, but there's just too much similarities between them. You should treat the campaign more as a tutorial. Oh, and as an added bonus it has the Last Stand mode.
EDIT: I forgot to add, multiplayer has some kind of levelling system; basically your troops can have some upgraded armor (aesthetically speaking) as you obtain more levels.

Re: Question about WH40KDoWII (SPOILERFREE)
Yeah I read in the reviews it had a Diablo style loot system, which made me very happy. So is Chaos Rising and Retribution stand alone games in themselves? I bought all three thinking they where Warcraft style expansion (Need the original to play the expansions). I did read about Retribution's campaign allowing you to play as six different races but they are confined to the same plot or something but hopefully the two other games have decent campaigns, regardless I'll still complete them all.

Retribution is a stand-alone. I am not sure about the other expansion.
