Roleplay Raiding

I enjoy those too Deli! I also enjoy hitting the top of recount, it makes me feel awesome. <3 My rogue has shitty gear right now, but she's pulling 23k+. I need to get her to 372 so I can steal dragonsoul raid finder lewtz.

I also want to level a goblin priest... WTB> extra character slot.

Well Morinth, the funny thing is that I'd say 90% of the people I RPed the most with on Horde side could 8man Uld 25man at 85 without really breaking a sweat.
But yea, I know how many people who play the game and really, really, SUCK at all real gameplay aspects. Nothing against them, I'm just stating a fact xD

Yeah, my pirates were mostly PvE and PvP lunatics. XD We went to one of the 85 raids and managed to basically 4 man all the mobs before they were made easy. We had Flumi and Rimtoss doing epic healing, me on my DK taking all the aggro and Eremor DPSing like a boss. The other four were RP'ers pulling 7k dps. xD

Must really re-start our old raid nights. o_o

And I sit and am seriously flabberghasted at people who can't do more than 10k DPS at level 85.
What strikes me most is that they haven't read up on how to play the game, or really had any drive to master it. Yes they might play to RP but don't they want to be able to actually use the real gameplay experinces without embarracing themselves?

Never done a raid in my life. Ha! And the only reason I've had to to heroics is to lazy back and farm justice to slap heirlooms on my alts to ease the burden of having to level the little bastards.

If I don't know how to play a class, I'll ask a friend who knows or look up on the internet. When I first started playing, I got kicked from a level 30 dungeon cause my dps was shit >.> and they would call me Ebay in randoms cause I didn't know what stuff meant, like nuke, etc.

Then again, I levelled in sub when it was shit, I thought Vanish was used while in stealth to make you even more stealthy, i didn't know what a stun was until level 80, and I didn;t use poisons til 80, etc.

Damn, I sucked.

Grasping your class can easily be learned through... Well, playing it. I learned a lot with my Holy Paladin by the leveling process and running instances. The best way to learn the abilities of your class is to pvp though (in my opinion at least) I did dragon soul through LFR on my priest in disc spec, some holy priest mockingly called me a pvp priest when I won a piece of loot, but he was eating my dust on the healing done chart, and whilst I did 20-30 dispells, he did perhaps 4.

The thing I found more odd is the inabilty of remembering and applying only a few tactics... (mostly referring to older raids now) Alright, a fight like Yogg Saron which has quite a few things going on, might be more easy after one try, so you can see all the mechanics. But people screwing up the LK fight by just standing in the middle of defile after three times... How do you work with those? :<

You don't bring them.
I'd never bring people who couldn't learn or understand simple mechanics even to so to speak "RP raids" I could accept them not being stellar. But if they repeatedly stood in shit I'd give them one more chance (aka one more raid op) and if they hadn't learned I'd boot them until they proved otherwise.

But yes, I find it amazing that so many don't learn much when playing. I've almost always come up with almost the exact same rotations etc as theorycrafters from playing and testing. I've relised on the info for the maximum, not the standard.
Like shit of the nature of: "So, do I use Rupture in my rotation in this patch, or is it just a waste of space?"

To be honest guys, this game is not that difficult. If you need the internet to come up with a decent rotation, you're a slob.

Exactly. That's why I find people who can't pull at least 15k dps in a raid environment generally embarracing. Since with all those buffs etc it is easy.
Pulling 25k+ is a different story, but not 15.

You are not a slob if you want to get a second opinion on using certain abilities or reforging and gemming. I think that 90% of the time, looking it all up will teach you something new.

I have no idea. I refuse to install DPS metres.
Then again I find dps in groups dreafully boring, so i've got tanks and healers on the way to farm JP with.

I know how to play a warlock. I know that Shadow Bolt is a good spell. But there is nothing wrong with optimising your playstyle. There is no bad rotation, there might be a better one.

DPS is fun if you compete against outdooing yourself.
Just -nailing- it feels immensly satisfying. At least if you're competetive.
A DPS meter should also be a highly personal tool, you use it for yourself to see what you can do better. And some some degree help others. Not as E-Peen. Which most do.

But before I started pushing myself in DPS to do it as best as I could without talking and getting tips from the best of the class on Defias I didn't really have fun DPSing.

The only class of mine where my dps is erratic is my mage cause I refuse to play her in anything other than fire spec. So if I get dreadfully unlucky and don't pull in the crits, my dps shoots down suddenly.

There won't be a raid today due to Vanguard event thingy.

Well I realy loved the idea of this..
thow I wish to make a complaint.. I thort this was supposed to be a light hearted event where we all go ic to trash up a few mobs in fancy gear and have a laugh Today in icc I was very dissapointed by the fact that people allowed one loudmouthed paladin to thretn and push me around in the raid

I am not a raider.. I rairly do them as i do not usualy have time.. so i find these runs enjoyable and a break from routene,, But to then have one person put a fire blanket over what is supposed to be light hearted fun.. He was treeting it like a top level cata raid.. It was icc we can do that in pejamas now.. I was extremly upset and hurt by this

As a result i am questioning weather i want to partake in any more of these so called rp raids And also if anyone can assure me that next time we get a know it all bully come in that he gets removed.. It not only dampend my spirits but those around form the ensuing argumant Im sorry i braught it up but this issue was unaceptable and am very dissapointed in the lack of respect shown towards a fellow roleplayer.. just as we are at a time when we are loosing rp'ers to other games at the moment.. this was the last thing that is needed

Yeah sorry about that. What can i say? People are different, but the paladin took it to far even in my opinion. Started raging from a thing that wasn't so serious after all.

Also i would like to note the raid was not a "RP raid". It was an achievement run created by me, taking anyone i can find, and not just roleplayers. Several members of the raid just happened to be roleplayers.

Im sorry if the raid and his behavior caused any pain to you.

its alright but to be honest regardless if people are diferent or not.. that is no excuse espeshialy as he himself was an rp'er in trnasmoged gear.. he should know better hence next time please kick people like that I missed out on many achevements because of him
