What will happen to the Blade?

One bad thing with the Shattering was that the Blade is gone (even if im not sure if it was still active at late?)

Do you guys have any plan? The new tavern in Dwarven District is packed with NPC's and some seem to use it for their HS..

There's a new tavern right next to the tram that I believe is still the Blade ICly, or so please said

That tavern is an inn though, with a HS that I think half the server is using.

I think they were discussing to move to Old Town, and use the tavern there. Would make sense too. Needless to say, we still need the Blade! Best bar EU D:

We've been discussing, actually, within the guild. Old Town is looking like our best bet right now for the reasons that a) the new inn by the tram does seem to be full of OOCers, b) we are called 'The Old Town Syndicate' and back in the day the guild's leaders used to operate from the Pig, and c) the Dwarven District is all cheerful 'n pretty now, which isn't really the right atmosphere for a badly lit, bad smelling, shady sort of tavern.

It would be a bit weird to make the mental transition, but we'd probably explain it via something like 'Well since the Blade was ruined in the invasion, we need a new bar and the Pig 'n Whistle's up for sale.' Question is - would the server mind the Pig and Whistle becoming the new Blade? Would it be welcomed? Or, are there really other viable options?

The only other option would be the Blue Recluse, but on occasion that is open by a separate guild. Personally, I'd say the Pig 'n' Whistle sounds like the best bet.

I say Pig 'n' Whistle too. It makes most sense to me for the guild named after that part of Stormwind to be based there. And I think it'd be welcome too, I mean as far as I know the Blade is the oldest and most popular bar there is and ever has been so I don't see why anyone would be against it.

Last time I was there the pig n' whistle was staffed by others but that may have changed I dont know.

Go with the Pig & Whistle, after everything that has happened with the inn removed its the logical choice. And would anyone complain if you took it? Let them, there will be legs broken if they do. -nod-

The Smoking Blade has been there for years providing us all with laughs, shady business and general awesome RP, if anyone complains that you cannot do that, he can properly turn around and go fuck himself. If anyone, it is you guys who can/should claim it and use it as your new Blade after everything you have done for the RP scene and the community.

You guys are saying 'They have the Blue Recluse', yet you're forgetting one important thing.

if the pig and whistle isn't staffed, best option, i wouldn't advise the recluse, it -is- regularly open on it's own. And quite nicely to that.

Edit: No, the recluse wasn't destroyed if that's what you mean.

Tbh, even if there is some staff in the pig and whistle it is possible to RP out from it. Should be easy enough for competent RPers to ignore the NPCs as they ignore "Jumpers".

If nothing else Guldu managed too for quite some time (Sure, only one NPC in that case)

As far as I'm aware, there are no players running the Pig 'n Whistle right now, but someone please tell me if I'm wrong. It's still seeming like our best choice. The Lamb would be alright, but really, the RP community needs the Lamb to stay the Lamb... and the Recluse is too posh (and already in use, I think, as some people have mentioned).

As to the npc's, sadly every tavern/inn has several now. I guess we'll all just have to learn to ignore them.

But yes, just to echo Annie, we're 90% sure we'll be going to Old town and simply turn the pig into the blade. With IC explanation of course, it's good to see members of the RP community backing us as well, I didn't have much concern about it being an issue, but it's nice to see that I hadn't misplaced my faith, so to speak.

We'll quite likely announce the move on here/IC'ly when it happens, with an opening event for the new tavern to follow. Of course, our plan to not open every night will be continuing, for guild reasons.

Hey folks, resurrecting this thread so as not to make a new one, since it's more or less the same topic.

Essentially, Ledgic and I are trying to decide what to do with and we would love the input of the members of the community. We've started up a discussion here in the guild's recruitment thread .

We would be really grateful if you all - who have RPed with the OTS in the past, who maybe visited the Blade in your time, or who know the current state of RP in Stormwind & environs and have an opinion about what's needed / what's not needed - would give us your input even if it's only a few words.

I think TOTS have been a great addition to the community and I've personally had a lot of fun and intriguing RP on both sides of the dagger so to speak.

However, all good things come to an end and I'm a firm believer that you should leave the audience wanting more. I think that it's time to take the wonderful experiences, what we and you have learned from the time with TOTS and move on. Put your focus into other projects and make something new, equally awesome, but in a different and new way.
