For hitting the very definitions of an anthem – dry, verbose and bombastic – as well as tying the lyrics to relevant pieces of Stormwind history, Talasseus has created a piece that will make men and women rise up in patriotic salute. May this anthem be on the lips of every die-hard patriot of fair Stormwind.

Talasseus will receive a royal reward of two thousand gold crowns.

I would like to thank the other contestants, (in no particular order) Frostbeard, Shaelyssa and Lyv, for participating and sharing their creativity with the community. I can imagine all of them being sung in the taverns of Stormwind, with various skill, in the future. You will receive a participation prize of five hundred gold crowns each.

Wow, first of all thank you all for the positive responses, and more recently the congratulations! I'm a bit overwhelmed to see you actually liked my submission enough to use it. And from a completely evolved, mature perspective, as a Hordie at heart I feel slightly dirty.

Aleric, you are free to set your own title to it if you wish, I had assumed it would simply be referred to as "the anthem (of Stormwind)", but if you push me I guess I can suggest one of my own also... Since the music used is called "March to Glory", and the final two stanzas are pretty much a call to arms, perhaps simply go with that. The reason I wrote this to begin with is because I thought it a nice tribute to "the good old days" of Warcraft 2, so... perhaps keeping the original title can be seen as credit where credit is due?

As for what character should receive the gold... my only Alliance character is "Arnkel", no apostrophes or anything like that. I would be content with just receiving the sum OOCly by mail, and you would be free to credit the IC writing of the anthem to whomever you wish. Given his chaotic nature, Arnkel COULD have submitted the song in his own name after plundering it from some unfortunate bard or suchlike, but I can see some rather problematic points with ICly attributing the national anthem of Stormwind to a violent criminal.
