Re: The "other game thread"
I used to have a 100mb/s connection for about 30€ a month a few years back. Sadly I had to move and lost it >:
My peak download speed was once on Rapidshare where I got around 40mb/s. Felt fantastic.

I cant imagine 16g ram being the minimum required to run this game though, that'd be bioware retardedRockstar in charge of PC ports and optimization
Ahahahahahah I got 16 gb cause I'm a retard.

Even if it isn't traditional Battlefield, I'm actually somewhat looking forward to this.

After hearing all of this about CKII, I went out and bought it. Having a lot of fun with it so far, even if I might have to have another look at the Military Tutorials >.>

I gave up on trying to be a Great Conqueror, and playing a 'scheming' game right now as a Duke of Brandenburg. Kinda fun so far, making marriage-alliances, trying to expand my lands within the Holy Roman Empire and bribing the electors to one day elect me as Emperor!

Re: The "other game thread"
Having a CKII game with one of my friends. I as Scotland and him as Denmark.
The Golden Blob of death is getting quite scary. Has taken the entire east, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Hungary, Iceland and parts of Byzantium as well. Gonna be great fun to see The Holy Roman Empire duke it out with them.
Also, g'dangit those 30 martial Generals. Reminds me of Europa Universalis 3 with 6 shock generals.

Re: The "other game thread"
I think I've had one of the more cataclysmal starts just here. I decided to start as small as possible (i.e. A one province count). Wound up with Bornholm, sitting in the middle of the Baltic with a castle and a church. Well, the HRE declared war on Pomerania, as they do, so I declared war on them too, smug with the notion that no matter how many pagans might come to assist them, I was on my island.
Well, while the HRE's doomstack was killing a Pagan doomstick, I ninja'd my mercenaries (paid for by visiting the Pope until I was broke, then taking a loan) ahead of them, to start the siege. The emperor kindly walked in and helped me finish it. The pope kindly decided to send me 200 moneys at this point, no doubt feeling like he'd ripped me off on all those indulgences, and because I was fighting heathens. Said money led me to decide to hold on to my mercenaries, and I conveniently captured the high chief, taking Pomeralia from him.
While he was in my dungeon, I declared war on him again. (Oh no! The pagans think I'm a warmonger! Oh well.) Since he was in my dungeon, he promptly accepted a peace again, and I got half of Pommerania too. I then declared war on Galindia, who were busy fighting Poland with just about the rest of the Romuva faith.
The rest of the Romuva faith apparently decided that Poland and I together were too much, and didn't help Galindia while my mercenaries sieged down their castle, and I got Galindia too.
The king (of Denmark, my king, etc) then declared war on the Pruthenians for Prussia. So I declared war on the Pruthenians for Prussia. I died at this point, and my sister took over, since the old dog hadn't actually managed to conceive. No matter, it was still in the family, at least. The pope decided I'd been fighting Pagans for an awful long time (or 8 years) and sent me another 200 gold, which I almost immediately used to pay off my loan.
I moved my capital to Danzig, hired another band of cheap mercenaries, ready to bleed my finances dry again, because Mecklenburg were fielding around 2,800 men, and I only had 1.1k.
Well, the king met the Mecklenburgers in Mecklenburg and lost, but whittled their army down to 1.8k, which I then smushed. Then went back to Pruthenia, and wasn't bothered for the rest of the siege process. Having made a surprising amount of coin looting Pagan castles, I decided to go for one more campaign, and squeezed Samogitia out an occupation of Samogitia. I disbanded my mercenaries with 1 gold left, and... Well. See for yourselves.
((Direct vassals map mode))
I'm immensely pleased. As soon as these crippling conquered modifiers wear off, I imagine I'll declare independence.
Or should I join the HRE?

Re: The "other game thread"
I'm greatly enjoying CK2. Started off as the Duchy of Iceland, though I'm not in all too good of a situation. Unmarried, and my only Heir is a Court Chaplain. My Character's also sixty. I managed to find Wives for both myself and my son, in the hope that I can churn out a better Heir.
After a few unsuccessful attempts at politely asking my Vassal to step down, and allow my Son to take his place, I assassinated him and persuaded his infant son to step down, replacing him with my own. Now, Iceland is firmly in my grip. *Cackle*
However, I -am- broke now ;_;

I just jumped right in as the Habsburgs... I have very little idea as to what I should do, except for having the emperor like me so that he'll give me titles (Gimme dat duchy mofo), I should probably play the tutorial.

If we get enough CKII players we could do a decent multiplayer.

I am not certain on how 'decent' it will be I play CKII like chess, thinking my moves through. People will die of boredome while they wait as I pause the game!

That's the challenge, you cannot pause it.

To be honest, we've enough for decent multi player already. Lump everyone in the Byzantine Empire (but not as Emperor) and watch the fireworks.

Nonsense! You can't be in the same realm! In fact, I challenge the people who play it here to play as their literal home county on a multiplayer game.
