Played as Apulia in Crusader Kings II, founded Sicily, was forced to kneel to Byzantine Empire, then became the most powerful landholder and through deceit and murder seized the throne....ruling an empire that covered Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Southern Italy and Maghreb!

My worst CKII game ever:

Started as Navarra, more or less conquered spain....but one of my family-members, somehow, ended up being raised in a little muslim court. Due to setbacks, the line died and that MUSLIM inherited the throne. After 60 years of civil war, conversion and strive I was suddenly ruling a Sunni spain Sad

I had a file as one of the Swedish dukes... I was killed in less than three weeks and my norse father inherited the duchy. I'd married him off to the only umarried pagan group woman in the game, who was a Canary Islands pagan, who happened to be a genius. He had two sons, and died 4 years later, leaving his Strong Genius son to take the duchy (I had the non strong-genius son assassinated, stupid gavelkind).

That son wound up as an elusive shadow. He had 33 intrigue and 24 martial (17 stewardship, 17 diplomacy, 16 learning), was brave, diligent, patient. When the king demanded he convert to catholicism, I decided to say no, and instead arranged for his aged brother, Erik the Heathen, to take the throne. I gifted the various unlanded heirs of the realm, then used plots to assassinate them (they all hated me, since I was a pagan), and then invited their heirs who didn't hate me so much to join the plot to turn the throne over.

Well, the plot got to 841% strength, and the king stepped down. Erik revoked his titles and gave most of them to me, and I became a thrice-duke with a large demesne than Erik. Had my wife killed, married Erik's daughter, and pressed her claim to the throne.

Promptly beat the snot out of him, and my wife became the Khan of Sweden. (I converted her to the generic pagan religion, and apparently you're a khan at king level there.) 1120, and I/my son, who was neither strong nor genius, sadly, inherited the throne. Unfortunately, you can't load a save as a non-christian character, so that was as far as I got.

Got CKPlus mod, playing as a Muslim now (Tunis). Just survived a crusade which was called on me when I dared snatch up Sicily...the pope is going down for this one!

Started this today. Started as a count (I think) in Ireland, made the mistake of turning into a heretic Waldensian and get my arse handed to me by the might of Catholic Christendom.

Time to start a new one, gonna play as an Orthodox state and take out that Pope.

Half Life in half hour is my favourite speedrun, inspired me to replay half life earlier and I pulled it at 2,5 hours without even actually going for "speed run", just remembering everything completely.

Heh, speed runs. My friend and I managed to get our snes emu's working through hamachi to play the golden oldies together, and I watched him speedrun Donkey Kong Country in no time, with all the secrets found on each level, while I ate my dinner. Razz

So, me and a friend are playing Shogun 2 fall of the samurai.
We're on the pro-shogun side and after capturing a city i got named "the shogunates vanguard".
My banners and the name of my clan all changed... Basically i just got a fancy title not much more.
However if you were able to go to war with your multiplayer partners this is the time where i would get backstabbed to shit...
It might be due to my 15 minute speech about how history would remember the comming fight for japan as the war of the shogunates vanguard! and that other guy....

Didn't check this thread. Missing CKII banter. My best game to date was my 'Irish Empire'. Started as an Irish duke, unified ireland, took scotland, england and brythonia. My child had a claim on Leon who were the dominant kingdom in spain, so I took them. Colonized africa and banished the muslims and just started to pick away at Europe. Ended up owning everything west of Germany. All under a line of Irish kings called, 'Brian.' I got to the end of the timeline with King Brian XII of Ireland, X of Scotland and England, IX of Brythonia, VIII of Leon, Castille, Portugal and Aragon, VII of Africa, V of Italy and Sicily, IV of France.

Not a bad set of titles I thought! I wish you could form empires after a certain amount of kingdoms, was so annoying not being able to give away my kingdoms to my sons..

p.s I never worked out how to change religion and you lot seem to do it freely! Pray tell!

To change religion:

Take your heir and send him to be educated by some character of religion of choice, then wait for him to succeed to the throne. Voilá! You just converted.

Also get this mod as it will allow you to form new empires (Britannia! Hispania! Maghreb! Poland-Lithuania! Scandinavia! Persia! Arab Empire!) and adds a few neat changes to the gameplay.

Mmyeah, that 16GB sounds like a mistake...even if the game looks dashing and probably needs a hefty PC to run it with everything maxed (tee-hee) out. I guess the 35GB part might be true, even if it's hella lot.

But true or not, what with seeing all those gameplay videos, my PC probably won't have a chance in hell to produce that much eyecandy without the FPS going somewhere below 0. It is a terrible thought, but...I just might have to settle for PS3 version with Maxy. Or well, I prolly won't be buying it in may anyway, due to Diablo 3, so can probably wait 'till the PC-version comes out and hear from peeps if it's just a terribad port.

Those are for max settings afaik, it will run on far less but it's nice to see a game supporting top tier tech for once.

35gb hd space is most likely bad optimization and a clever trick to reduce piracy. Won't hurt me with 100mb/s but still, I know people who would spend a week downloading that.

I know here in Belgium you pretty much pay 10000 euro a month to even get 10mb/s
