World of Darkness MMO

Looking really great. The only "dislike" I can see is the only Kindred thing, but it is understandable. I'm just sad that nine times out of ten when someone whisperes "WoD" almost everyone just jumps "VAMPIRE!" Sad that so much of a great system and world gets hidden in the shadow.
But future patches/expansions can always come with more non mortal roads.

Still, love how it looks. Especially the "Can become withou killing anyone" thing.

Yeah this could be the mmo to take me from wow also which in a way is a good thing. Somthing really new. As I first went through the information they said kindred at the on the relsea which leads me to belive there will be other things to play as. Let hopes as it would add alot more to the world aand the rp. =D gonna do more hunting for more info soon.

Consider the statement of one world server and then consider the usual percentage of people who bother with RP in MMOs.

No doubt there'll be RP but it'll be tuckered away from the public eye like some strange Masquerade.

*edit* I also predict that 90% of people RPing a Malkavian will get it horribly wrong and will just play some lolsorandom-type character.

Yeah there will be alot of lolers but we will have haven and there is pentlites to griefers so hopfully it will work out.

I'd say that if this game turns out to be even half as ruthless as EVE then I doubt there will be all that many lollers around simply because they'll get frustrated and leave soon enough.

Well, considering just how based this in a very popular and very specific Pen and Paper base I'm quite sure that this might be a MMO where the Roleplayers are actually the biggest number.
Sure there are some gamers who would want to play it just to be a vampire. Yet the big drive for doing it comes from the people in love with the world. Yes, there might exist people who'd want to become a prince soley from the thrill of being it, they might even know enough people to get it only for that one persons glory. But, would they want to have it as a long time deal and not just a one time thrill?

It's a lot easier to immers yourself into the game when it's a Sandbox than when it's strucktured around things harder.

Thats a great point. Never thought of it like that, you are right most people will be from the pen and paper so the rp numbers should be pritty good =D weeeeee. Just hunt to hunt down the lolers when they start to join >=/

For anyone interested. It's a fan-made blog, essentially logging all the comments made about the WOD MMO. Which is still in development. No release date yet, so try not to get too excited.. And whoever told you I've already got three characters planned and written out is a filthy liar!

No worries. I'm pretty excited about the MMO itself, from the drops of information we have had it does seem like CCP is taking it in the right direction.

Also, for when this is released. If I do play it I'll play as a mortal cat burglar.
I might make a kindred but as it looks it's highly unlikely, if I do it'll quite possibly be a ventrue with the "child" flaw. If they keep that in game.

Before that the non mortals don't intrest me until Changelings, Mages and Gheists come into play.
