The plot and updates (Read well!)

The Eyes of the Dark Realm just obtained an artifact from someone who holds it as we speak. For as far as we know, no one knows really what this artifact is about. Anyhow, artifacts tend to be interesting, powerful, dangerous or rather helpful. The Eyes of the Dark Realm will try to unlock its secret, but then something goes gravely wrong during the examination. The artifact "explodes", scattering multiple shards (about 10, depending on how many guilds are interested) across Azeroth (to said guilds), one of the pieces remains with the Eyes of the Dark Realm.

These aren't simply a couple of dull shards of the artifact however. He who carries one will feel the need to keep it for himself, and feel the urge to collect all the pieces to recreate the artifact once more, so that he may unlock its secret. The shards don't really affect the sanity. Instead, one will most likely need help of his friends to gather all the shards, so he will most likely accept this aid, although keeping it a secret that he'd never give the shards away. In addition, the shards aren't destroyable. The artifact as a whole is destroyable however.

To hasten up the plot a little, the carrier of a shard may recieve visions through the mind about where the other shards are precisely located. Guilds would have to coordinate this with eachother well OOCly.

If someone, or a guild ever manages to gather all of the shards, and to put them all back as if the artifact was a puzzle, then he would unlock its secret. What's its secret? Well, there's only one way to find out.

Tales of deceit and manipulation, both internal and with other guilds. Drama, traveling, action, creating true or perhaps false alliances with others. Will you manage to recreate the artifact?

(Nothing will be set in stone. Everyone has equal chances to "win", atlhough it's not about winning but you get the point! It might take a week, but maybe a month for someone to succeed...if ever? As nothing is planned though, the duration of this plot doesn't really matter. You can combine it with other plots and events easily, with a creative mind. Below you will find a list of who currently holds a shard(s). Each guild will have to pick 1 active member, and each guild will therefore start with one shard. The list below of who will hold a shard will be kept up to date by me. You may only post in this thread with updates. Example: Crojwin now holds two shards, or Crojwin has no shards anymore, instead Gustajc now holds one. Stuff like that!

How do you roleplay along? As explained in the story above, the holder of the shard will feel the urge to gather all of the shards to recreate the artifact so that he/she may unlock its secret. The person who holds the shard can recieve visions as to who else holds a shard. How does this work? You simply look at this thread who holds a shard, and you /who the person. (Note: This would only be meta gaming if you use this function when NOT holding a shard! So if you don't hold a shard you may not /who locations of people and hunt them!)

So guilds/holders of shards may be surprised by either a diplomatic team of another guild, or a malicious team that tries to take it by force. (Another important note: If you notice the other guild is busy on another event or what so ever, first ask them if they are busy or not. If you see said guild/holder of a shard is simply randomly roleplaying then feel free to surprise them/the person. Just keep in mind that OOC respect is important too!)

Now why would you want to complete this quest? Several reasons, I'll give you some. I know that our cult will want it for power. I can -guess- that light orders would like to gather it and either destroy it, or lock it away so it can harm no one. The mercenaries told me they'd sell it for gold. be creative about why you wish to get your hands on this artifact!

Initially, nothing is planned. However, that doesn't mean you may not plan. Feel free to organise stuff. Both that and spontanious RP is welcome.

Update: Some sort of a new rule here. One asked me "what if I simply throw the shard in my shadow realm, no one can take it then.". Such stuff would ruin the plot, bare with the plot please.

(As for how you can get a shard ICly. The artifact exploded in multiple shards across Azeroth during examination. So once you've chosen your man/woman, you can simply RP that he/she found one. Simple as that.)
