no apologies, no thanks for showing up anyway.. etc
that to me tells me poor and or bad leadership..
they went out of there way to aid and goet rejected.. I think they deserve an appology not a slamming Gnash...

The one I'd like to see apologising is the one who had them cancel everything and turn up. Gnash has a whole campaign to run, and I don't think people going out and bringing in even more to swamp the Horde is helping things. You might want to also look at it from that point. Small scale events are hassle enough, but one as large as this is bound to be giving him a headache already.

due to internal missunderstandings.. many things will need sorting straitening and appologies given where due.. that includes the blades for being missled that they were invited..

I kept typing this out, then choosing to give Gnash the benefit of the doubt, then retyping. That last statement has punctured any chance of me 'assuming good faith'.

I believe everyone agrees that it's not your fault, Gnash, what occured. But your attitude is amazing. To so casually disregard other people's time like that, wow...

The Blades for Hire marshalled and motivated more RPers for this event than any other Alliance guild. So effectively in fact that it seems their contribution threatened the entire scale of the campaign. The Blades for Hire made the effort to help out your event. It doesn't matter that they were misled into attending, they did attend and the least you could do is show them some respect.

I dread to think how overwhelmed you guys would have been if we'd shown up aswell, another 26 RPers thrown into the melee. Would we have recieved the same treatment? "You were invited? Oh, not my problem, you just want a slice of the cake! Haha butthurt's on you!"

The fact remains they came without Horde consent. I do not feel inclined to apologize for somebody else's screw-up, excuse me.

it does not matter weather they came without your consent or not, they went out of there way as they thort they WERE invited when they were not.. and all they receaved is this cold shouldering from everyone.. this isnt fair or right, and your words there only conferm this.. as a leader you should be ashamed with your own actions here..

Besides, I'm not asking you to apologise for the organisational cock up, that wasn't your fault. Your attitude however, is your own fault and nobody elses. Show some empathy and some respect. Everyone understands why they can't take part. What I can't understand is why you're such a collossal prick about it as though they turned up with intentions of ruining the event rather than helping out.

If you'd said "Sorry guys, the numbers don't work. Maybe you should speak to whoever invited you and find out what they intended for you to do?" rather than responding with the supreme arrogance you've just displayed people wouldn't be so "butthurt".

Yeah...guys? Stop blaming the organizers for everything? Unless you want even more people to dread investing time in planning and leading. Gnash might have a pissy attitude but frankly, if we want to play the "you hurt my feelings" game, he did nothing wrong. So give him a break and look for the one who did something wrong.

And to be absolutely honest, people should get a thicker skin (not addressing either side here, it's meant in general). When an event involves this many people, something will most probably get lost in translation. So everyone....just show a bit more understanding for eachother and try to learn from the mistakes made, instead of bashing one another.

Thanks Gnash for the organisation and the alternate route, filled with stashes of explosives that emit fireworks and a shockwave that pushes people away when attacked.

when a big groups comes in by misgidence.. wether or not you are under stress.. understand it was not fuly there fault and give them some slack..

If they turned um knowing full well that they were not invited .. then by all means treet them how you are right now... cold shoulder them.. kick them in the ass..

I believe it has been stated before, but the event isn't by invitation, it's by going up to either side and say "Hi, x wants to join the event." to the organisers/organisers contacts/howeveryouwanttocallthem.

If/when there is a discussion between the the organisers, I do not know.

And if I remember right, Gnash did veto a suggestion to invite help for the horde because the help in question "has had enough time to contact him".

still I dissagre with the majority of attitude that has been thrown towards the poor blades for this error that wasnt realy there fault and I feel that they rightfully and still deserve at least some form of appology for this cockup.. this hasnt been fair on them on any level

ps if you are going to start and be part of the leading team in campains that involve such large numbers of people abnd coordinating.. you should have antisipated that things of this nature could accore and have had a plan in backup in such an eventuality.. just thort i would throw that suggestion out there

This has been theirs, and of course the one who inved them's fault. Don't gatecrash an event without at least reading the thread. Gnash put it bluntly and shouldn't have to apologise at all.

I'll input my little knowledge on all of this as I am not part of the event but can lighten the weight a bit on the whole Blade Situation.

A disciple of light presented herself to the council meeting on tuesday, but because no councilmen were there some of the noble RP'ers in the room took over to fill the void for that night due to those that actually showed up. This disciple(Ill leave nameless) ICly requested that help be sent to fight a losing war over in Kalimdor. When the addition of soldiers were refused she also mentioned she atleast seeked the aids of mercenaries to which we loaned her the gold to hire the Blades for hire.

Keep in mind we are acting In Character and have no Out of character knowledge on all this(Heck I personally didn't know there was such an event going on in kalimdor).

So the blades acting on the whim is by no means their fault and well the OOC miscommunication can go anywhere, this disciples appearance gave the indication that perhaps this was an IC way to bring in the blades and the Blades themselves as you can see had no idea of the OOC restrictions.

Anyways just some insight on how this "started"

Zipping out, pulled an allnighter, blergh.

The Blades were invited to attend the event IC and OOC by Valestrion of DoL. So were the Seal for that matter but Tarv was fortunately still awol IC so couldn't make the decision. I think Gnash might have had a heart attack if both guilds had turned up.

They arrived believing their involvement was all arranged and then, as i understand it they were rudely told 'where to go' and cold shouldered as if it was their error. Up to and including that moment Gnash didn't really do anything wrong.

It wasn't his fault they were invited, it wasn't his fault they couldn't take part due to numbers, it wasn't even his fault the Alliance 'commanders' didn't give them something else to do. The only aspect of this whole affair that was his fault was his attitude towards the Blades on the forums.

They didn't gatecrash, the Blades and the Seal were explicitly asked to attend. I'd go so far as to say we were begged to do so.

They turned up believing they'd been invited and after they'd been turned away Gnash took it upon himself to heap scorn upon them here as if it was their fault.

Your position? What sort of stress do you think you're under? Oh no, fifty enthusiastic and mostly supportive people are relying upon me to carry out some basic administrative tasks, I'm far too stressed to keep a civil head in a very minor crisis.

By all means defend accusations of organisational incompetence, as far as I'm aware your organisation hsa been perfect. But somebody beneath you cocked up and it is not your place to act the victim and blame the Blades for that.
