Re: Path of Conquest: Chapter III [Concluded]
I think the animosity over some "apology" has gone far enough here. Admittedly, the tone was a little crude, but fact remains that it wasn't Gnash' doing, so why -would- he have to apologize for anything? Sure, he shot himself in the foot by using words such as "butthurt", as it tends to make people feel personally offended for some particular reason, but considering the amount of hate he's getting himself, I'd be more surprised that he hasn't completely stopped the campaign yet.
Worse thing is that most of this hate that I see so far comes from people who haven't even been a (major) part of the campaign thus far, from what I can tell. None of the participants seem to be complaining at this moment, so where's the use in continuing to keep this topic off-track? If there's still something in between Blades for Hire and Gnash or whatever Alliance person has involved them in the first place, let them solve it between one another. As much as I like a bit of drama now and then, this is getting a little obnoxious.

caling someone butthurt is a direct opersonal attack in most peoples book.. he was cold rude and well arrogent .. as a leader he should have shown some restraint and properly explaind to them politly rarther than just telling them to go away.. others did in other events.. so why was this any different?

Re: Path of Conquest: Chapter III [Concluded]
I do not expect a personal apology from anyone in this thread.
I recieved some for DoL last night and I explained to them that it wasn't there fault and that these things happen. I was annoyed last night at certain alliance organisers for their lack of communication with Gnash and annoyed that we were sidelined (again, not Gnash's fault)
I had no problem with Gnashs organisation and sympathised with him over the fact horde were outnumbered and he, ill informed.
I only posted here at all because I was disgusted with Gnash's attitude and disregard of peoples time and efforts. Namely, my guilds time and effort.

This Campaign has given us in the Cult a chance to hold sermon in far away places, fueling our brothers and sisters with the crystal clear dogma of the Forsaken Shadow.
Death to the living!
Power to the Forsaken!
We are, as usual, very happy and glad to have been invited.
Rule Ogrimmar, Ogrimmar RULES the ways!

Re: Path of Conquest: Chapter III [Concluded]
Since I had a part in inviting Blades for Hire, it would probably be appropriate for me to comment. I believe there are two issues here, so I will take them one at a time.
1. Should the Blades have been there?
Before the campaign even started, a meeting of Alliance commanders considered whether to hire the Blades for the campaign. It was decided not to hire them initially, but to consider them as potential reinforcements. After the Alliance had lost the last few battles of Phase II, Jomir and I agreed that the time had come to send for the Blades. Jomir spoke to Gnash who, as I understand it, agreed that the Blades would be permitted to make up numbers.
With this decision having been made, I sent a messenger to the Stormwind Council, requesting reinforcements for the Alliance army, and suggesting the Blades for Hire as a possible option. This messenger was given written instructions, which included a statement that the Blades would be informed closer to the time as to how many were needed. As it happens, my messenger was unable to speak to the Council as, I am told, they were not meeting at the regular time. Instead, my messenger spoke to Genevieve who, I believe, facilitated a meeting with the Blades, and was party to the payment arrangements. I do not know whether the part of the message relating to a subsequent notification of numbers required was passed on at this time.
Unfortunately, as far as I know, no subsequent conversation regarding numbers occurred. Partly, I believe, because the Alliance leadership weren't around at the same time to discuss it between the original request and the battle, and partly, simply, because there was no way for us to know how many were needed. It sounds as if the Blades were not aware that the numbers needed to be agreed, as no doubt they would have asked before setting out.
My conclusion here, therefore, is that, while it was agreed in advance that the Blades should take part, lack of direct communication and a single person having both the authority to make the decision and the responsibility to pass the information to Blades, meant that Blades were not aware how many people to bring and believed that they were meant to bring everyone.
2. Given that the Blades were there, should they have been allowed to take part?
I cannot comment on what happened when the Blades arrived. Unfortunately, with the exception of weekend battles, the battles of this campaign have always taken part earlier than I can be online, and yesterday was no exception. My opinion is that, once the Blades were there, they should, at least, have been treated the same as everyone else in the Alliance army. While Gnash has the right to insist on the two sides being equal in number, he shouldn't need to worry about who makes up that number on the Alliance side. It should have been possible to make room for some of the Blades in the battle, while others, together with those from other Alliance units who were superfluous to requirement, were sent off to carry out some other duty, e.g. guarding the route into Ashenvale from the Barrens in case a separate attack came there.

If there is no objection, I'd like to organise some last minute camp-rp tonight for Alliance side... It'll be slightly absurd for your entertainment, of course, but I hope it will work.

Your messenger spoke to a whole bunch of nobles including Braiden who offered to send supplies but not troops (as that isnt their domain), the one that offered a loan to hire the blades was Jarric and not Gen.Valestrion wrote:Instead, my messenger spoke to Genevieve who, I believe, facilitated a meeting with the Blades, and was party to the payment arrangements.

Braiden, if this is the source of your IC letter to me, let me point out a few things. Firstly, this forum is OOC so shouldn't warrant an IC response. Secondly, what was reported to me was that Genevieve was the first point of contact with the House of Nobles, which didn't surprise me as she's an ex-Disciple, but this is not the same as saying that the House of Dieudonné paid for the hiring of the Blades. Thirdly, until your IC letter yesterday, I didn't know who had paid for it, or even that a single house had paid for it. Fourthly, the point of my original post was to provide more information, to the best of my knowledge, about how Blades for Hire ended up coming to Stardust Spire but were turned away, and not to give or deny credit to the financial backers, which is probably not of any relevance to this thread.

Re: Path of Conquest: Chapter III [Concluded]
As we lack cartoonists to do this for us.. and since we've been blessed some time to cool off.. I.. took the liberty of making some impressions of this final part of the campaign.
I sincerely hope.. they can be welcomed in a spirit to loosen up on some things... And in that respect they also apply to myself throughout the campaign.
