*pat*
Tbh most of the flight cancelling was due to over reacting to this.
While Volcanic Ash has been known to damage the engines of planes the test flights done few days ago showed no real damage, and the ash cloud has also dropped in height a bit to 2km or so.

Or the volcano could keep on erupting for a year like it did the last time.Dharum wrote:Oh they estimate that the real erruption will start later this week
And of course, there's always the big-sis volcano Katla that usually erupts soon after Eyjafjallajökull.
For some reason I have the feeling that I won't be going to Seychelles next Autumn as the plan originally was...

Better to be safe than sorry when there are lives at stake eh?
Doesn´t really work saying:"Well, our testflights showed no real damage so we thought it´d be okay to fly in the volcanic eletrified ash that might melt inside the jet engine and cause severe damage and stop the engines possibly making the aircraft crash, so it´s not really our fault that our test flights weren´t accurate."

To start stockpiling food or not to start stockpiling food...The eruptions and ash disturbance from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano might be waking up its neighbor, Katla. If this is the case, the results could be globally devastating. Activity at Katla has risen 200% in the last two days.

Vargosh: Naaaah. I don't mind traveling at this time of year. Besides, there's a very good reason why I chose the dates I did!
