Judge us not, lest ye be judged!
Our members have all taken an Oath to protect and defend not only the Kingdom of Stormwind, but to protect the honest, innocent true believers from those who would do them harm. We are well aware that the criminal justice system in Stormwind has nothing to do with what is "right" versus what is "wrong" and oftentimes it does not punish the evil doers. With this in mind, we are prepared to fulfill the oath we swore to defend the Kingdom against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, so help us Light.
We are a organisation of current and former local guards, and military veterans who are dedicated to protect and defend the free people of the Alliance and to fight wherever it may be.
We are the Blue Templars.
Master Soderbergh seeks men and women to join this Templar Order, to help the Kingdom once more.
The mission of the "Blue Templars" is to selectively contact those who would be of like mind and heart. To win the battle against those who would do harm to innocent citizens of Stormwind, we will recruit active duty military, veterans (especially combat vets), guard officers, local guards. We will reach, teach, and inspire our brothers in arms in the military and in the guard to fulfill their oaths and stand as guardians of the Kingdom.
For Liberty and Justice,
Blue Templars
[ OOC ]
This is an military order for veterans, but also for those who is already in the army or in the guard.
Religious Military Veteran/ Guard veteran order, in RP, we will mostly seek out guards and soldiers, who we think have qualities. But if you're interested, you may contact Soderbergh, and tell him and show him, what you're capable of. You will be awarded and respected, always.
It's guaranteed you will have a great time of the events I will create, every detail of the event I will make sure is perfect. Quality is priority number one.
The guild OOC:ly may be a RP/PVP one, if a fellow order requieres our help in WPVP, we will gladly help.
Travelling and Pilgrimage will happen in the Blue Templar, so think about it.
Right now I'm in deep need of officer help. I could use a Seneschal! We will try our best to fight the criminalism in Stormwind.
Whisp me for more info in-game or an invitation.

Re: Judge us not, lest ye be judged!
Given the name of this order, what is its relationship to the Light like? Is it a predominantly religious organization?

The word Templar usually indicates religious underpinnings though, but your description didn't mention anything about it, so I got curious

They are religious, but not fanatic. Almost like Disciples of Light, but we're not Knights.Saevir wrote:The word Templar usually indicates religious underpinnings though, but your description didn't mention anything about it, so I got curious

Are you actually guards, or vigilantes who in turn also can be put under the justice system for taking the law in own hands?

The term has been hijacked by enough fantasy settings already for that technicality to be meaningless.

this fantasy setting doesnt have the Latin language and nor do followers of the light use 'temples. i dislike the use of the word templar in WoW rp, very silly.

Templars are warriors who fight under the religion, and for a religion. They protect the belief, to keep the faith up for the people.

Re: Judge us not, lest ye be judged!
Transliteration of languages is notoriously difficult, just look at the drama surrounding various religious texts.
But I’ve been told by an academic that Templar simply translates to ‘of the Temple’. It may -still- be incorrectly used here, but I see no problem using it to refer to paladins etc, Genevieve has done on several occasions. Temples and churches (note the small ‘c’) and synagogues etc are one and the same. A Church however (capital c) is not a temple.
So the Clerics of Northshire may quite accurately have been referred to as Templars.
If Latin does not exist in this fantasy setting, explain its use in the Warcraft series.

[snip argument]
This isn't the appropriate thread to argue about whether use of latin or any other non-english words is appropriate within WoW. It is especially not the place to make such an argument personal. You're all welcome to make a new thread for it that isn't targeting any guild or people in particular, but stick to just talking about the guild this thread was made for in here, please.

Nice said, Mr Mod! I agree, totally. I was thinking if I should ignore what they said or not. But sometimes you have to act. I still agree with you!Mod wrote:[snip argument]

Re: Judge us not, lest ye be judged!
A proposal, to the RP of Alliance.
The Blue Templars, (me) would like to present the idea of creating a guard to Westfall. The Blue Templars wich is just a name of a group veterans from guards and military. Could become the Lawmen of Westfall, sometimes they could help the city of Stormwind.
Reason why I wish to do this is because I want more RP in Westfall, and more splitted guard guilds from different places. We have some in Stormwind, and one in Duskwood, and one in Westfall.
Having lawmen would make a good RP, against the Defias, theft in Duskwood or in Elwynn.
They will be able to track down escaping prisoners from Stormwind, also, they will be able to aid the military when upcoming problems around in the Stormwind Kingdom comes.
What say you? This is RP I would like to do most, I'm not asking for much. I will accept those who is interested, Dwarves and Humans.

Re: Judge us not, lest ye be judged!
To be honest.. I would should say that you should act as the People's Militia, however the Militia was since molded into the Westfall Brigade after the end of vanilla (and now a part of the Stormwind Army).
Sooo.. My suggestion would be to just act as a reformed People's Militia - Whilst the Westfall Brigade focus on actively being an army, you take on the former 'law enforcement' role.
