Our Curse. Our Destiny.

Sons and Daughters of Gilneas..

I speak to you today of both our blessing and our foes; the Forsaken and their brutish allies in the Horde. They look upon the face of Gilneas with loathing and disgust. The enemy sees us as abominations, mutant freaks fit only for killing. To the foe we are less than human. My people, they shall learn their mistake. We will show them the iron and steel beneath Gilnean flesh, we shall cast them against the unbreakable rock of our collective will! We shall make them realise the truth, that the children of Gilneas know in their hearts that our race, the Gilnean, is the next step in the evolution of humanity! At first we thought that our 'Curse' would poison and destroy us. How wrong we were. Goldrinn saw what was in every one of us; our strength and our indestructible spirit, and made it manifest! The great change was the rebirth of our people, a people fit to stride the stars and shatter our enemies!

Sons and Daughters of Gilneas, YOU are the embodiment of that glorious legacy, the inheritors of the victory that we fight for everyday. You alone are fit to forge the future and destiny of our species. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. We shall not suffer the merciless beasts of the Horde nor the irresolute and spineless Stormwind to dictate our path! When you placed your trust in your monarch he, King Genn Greymane, willing sacrificed himself to the engine of our nation. Now our only goal is to bring our people the absolute and deserved mastery of their destiny!

And yet, there are some among our people who do not march with us. Voices rose in dissent and opposition to the 'Curse', soft minds that take the words of those jealous, scared, hatemonger’s in the Church of Stormwind for truth! To those who bear the seeds of rebellion in their hearts and question the way of Goldrinn, of Gilneas, I say this: Would you have us embrace the very thing that rejected us? Would you make us lay down our rifles, our claws, and surrender ourselves, stark naked before a force that wishes only death for us? It is my sworn duty to guide these misguided souls, to bring them back to our fold. Expunge their weakness for the greater good!

Our victory is imminent! With our hearts tempered in the fires of war we strive forward and take the fight to the foe! Let us never forget the duty that we have taken upon ourselves. Our enemy is tenacious, bold and merciless. This invasion will not go unpunished, this criminal act unleashed the whirlwind of our wrath! Our guns, our claws, our fangs, never tire until we have beaten back the foe and sent them running! The Forsaken have dared to turn their machines upon that which we hold dearest; Our cradle, our homeland, our.. GILNEAS!

Yeah, there's an uncanny resemblance in the rhetoric employed between the Forsaken and the Gilneans. We've used the talks of a blessing for a long time, the uncompromising view our enemies have of us (abominations etc), the rhetoric that we're the next step was also employed by us a bit in the past iirc, the nationalism which we also employ in our rhetoric (and which was the complete basis of Cerrania's belf rhetoric/propaganda). It only lacks talk of being persecuted for no reason etc. Leaving no doubt that the speaker (and his people) are the victim(s).

The parallels one can find between the Forsaken and the Worgen due to the rhetoric alone is amusing at the very least.

Which makes sense; both of them were formally human, both of them were cursed with something that neither wished upon themselves and ultimately led to persecution and conflict - It just so happens that the Gilneans recieved the lesser end of the stick due to not quite being 'must smash' abominations the Alliance would likely turn on.

This was very nice, very well written, and very enjoyable to read. Good job!!! I would have loved it but unfortunately I find it very hard to love a pile of sacrilegious GARBAGE!!! >:[
