because as the saying goes, god created the world, but the dutch created the netherlands.

we weren't stupid enough to put in natural disasters like typhoons and earthquakes. there are only possibilities of a flood *nods*

god has no power over us, which is why our women can wear their miniskirts and wooden shoes.

And Japan have now issued a statement of "Nuclear Emergency" as the Fukushima Nuclear Plant cannot cooldown (properly) after being shut down.

But you have to admit they know how to deal with earthquakes. Despite being one of the strongest earthquakes recorded, the casualties have been fairly low so far. The material losses on the other hand...

Yeah, I think they actually train for Earthquake evacuation though,
Unless of course, they are extremely lucky.

On the other hand though, A Nuclear power-station may go up, which is again, very serious. :/

And... it's 3 or 4 plants now. Supposedly.

But, yes the Japanese do lead the world (more or less) on earthquake awareness. But this one is one of the biggest in 100 years. And 1000's of times bigger (the Richter Scale is an exponential curve) than the one in Christchurch earlier this year.

Nuclear plants not cooling down... isn't too groovy though.

Now, anyway...

Japan is also the worlds largest international inveter (Yes, the US is a bigger economy, but they are darn selfish).
The Tokyo stockmarket dropped with 11% the what, half hour it was open after the earthquake? And with material damage and maybe worse on the line Japan might drag in a lot of it's money to home. Neither are good things.

Back to Japan (sorry people):

"The level of radiation at the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactor is "1,000 times higher than normal," according to Japan's nuclear and industrial safety agency, visiting the site..."

‎"More unsettling news from the Fukushima No 1 nuclear power reactor in Onahama: the plant's operator Tepco says that radioactive substances "could have already been released" from the damaged reactor, while Japan's prime minister Naoto Kan is saying that residents within 10km of the plant must leave the area."

If tsunami(s) and earthquake(s) weren't enough... seems like Japan, or the world, has a new nuclear disaster unfolding. Almost 25 years to Chernobyl too...
