Gilneas - Landmarks & Points of Interest
Essentially what I'm trying to make here is a compilation of the various places that one might find roleplay within Gilneas or at least is in use by members of The Greymane Era, The Fordragon Company and others who roleplay here. I'll add more up in due time and if you have any suggestions or questions then feel free to toss me a whisper:
Stoneward Prison
As the name would imply, the Stoneward Prison was used primarily to house dissidents and political prisoners of the Northgate Rebellion, most notably Lord Darius Crowley of Pyrewood and later those Feral Worgen and infected individuals who could be successfully contained. During the Forsaken Invasion it acted as the staging point for their occupation and attempted genocide of both the city and country as a whole however was reclaimed during the Battle for Gilneas City. Now, the prisons technically is still used for the purpose it was built.. of course, the Forsaken hardly make worthwhile prisoners, it would be better off just executing those who would bring further death to the nation. Primarily it acts as the headquarters of the Royal Gilnean Army, its cells and blocks now converted to act as barracks and armouries.
The Onyx Tower
Prior to the end of the second war, King Genn Greymane and in turn the people of Gilneas held a rather dim view of Dalaran, seeing them as little more than meddling wizards who wish to dominate the magicians of humanity to hold that power for itself. As a result of this the Onyx Tower was established, essentially a congregation of scholars, arcanists and other such educated individuals and students. The territory the Tower holds does not, as implied, purely consist of the actual tower but also a small amount of territory surrounding Tempest's Reach, most notably the former residence of Lord Walden since granted to the Tower whilst they repair the damage wrought by the Cataclysm.
Casilia Grove
Named after (or perhaps by) the Reverend Mother Marilissia Casilia, the grove is a small, hidden, chapel in the eastern hills close to Tempest's Reach. In the past it was primarily used for weddings and other such ceremonies (alongside rumours’ of executions given its rather convenient location on the edge of a steep cliff into the ocean). The Light's Dawn Cathedral saw extensive damage inflicted upon it first by the Feral Worgen and then during the Forsaken's plague bombing of the city during the later stages of the invasion - As such, Casilia Grove has played host to many religious ceremonies by The Faithful and will likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Tal'Doren
Tal'doren, also known as "the wild home", is located deep within the Blackwald, the dark, mysterious forest found to the south. Long ago, the tree was home to Druids of the Scythe - who later became the original worgen - before they were imprisoned within the Emerald Dream, sleeping under a tree identical to this one...but not before their curse spread to others. It was here that the infected Gilneans first gained control over their human forms under the guidance of Lord Darius Crowley and the Kal'Dorei. Now Tal'Doren acts as a gathering place and home for the more.. feral-inclined citizens of the country, especially those who follow the Druidic teachings; More specifically the Blackfang, loyalists to the country (although not necessarily the king by extension) who would better harness and embrace their feral urges for the sake of their land.
The Mangy Mastiff
Located on the edge of the western moors, perched at the top of Keel Harbour - The Mangy Mastiff is widely considered to be one of, if not finest pub within the Kingdom. Despite a decommision of the fleet and little to no travel via the coast during the country's isolation, the pub still saw a good deal of business for its reputation. Since the invasion the Mastiff has become extremely popular amongst 7th Legion soldiers and those who remained within the country helped in no small part by its proximity to the harbour.

Oh HEEYYL no!!! Casilia Grove? Casilia Grove!? CASILIA Grove?!?!?!!? Mmmm that girl has gotent herself into big trouble now. I cannot believe she actually named MY CHAPEL after herself!!!! Oh she's so going to get it now.
Otherwise ... good job, Gunnell. This will hopefully give people an idea where people mainly role-play in Gilneas, so more will be encourage to come.
But seriously, Casilia Grove?! Pffff!!!!

It does, sort of. I've been running the place for a while now, though I never claimed ownership. When I started I just RP-ed it to be an abandoned bar which me and a few friends sought refuge in. Made up a bit of backstory as for why -that- particular inn.

A new inn, interesting. could be an RP hot-stop, seeing as other races could stop off there to meet and what-not.

I've been helping out as well with the bar keeping, last night when Geoffray was afk or gone I would do it instead so I may join the fella's in maintaining the bar; perhaps going out to find supplies too.

He means the Knights of the Ebon Blade, as their leader is named Mograine.

Well according to lore the only faction of Death Knights that's "allied" with the Horde/Alliance is the Knights of the Ebon blade. Atleast that's how I remember it.

From the looks of things, Kalok brought up Death Knights.

Could we get back to talking about landmarks and stuff like that in Gilneas? Im really sick of death knights and that topic was actually interesting.
