Don't forget Norway not joining. And don't forget the reasons why. The EU will fall , and will pull the countries into deficits again. Germany , France & the UK are simply pulling it along, and I think they have the right to make changes for more suitable arrangements for there own countries.

Oh come on the treaty of lisbon is just a fucking joke...

basically its the european constitution, changed to be changes to the existing eu amendments... The treaty itself is fucking unreadable without reading all the amendments it alters...

it is a horrible piece of bureaucratic legislation... The two biggest gripes about the eu constitution was; it was to large, and it was unclear. so what do they do? they make it even more unclearer by having a treaty filled references pages... Oh and they changed to a smaller lettersize to adjust the size of the document, brilliant piece of lobbying from Sarkozy there...

I understand why they decided with a treaty that altered the amendments to therefor circumvent referenda in a lot of countries as stated by those countries constutions.

The only good thing the Lisbon Treaty has set was the fact that you now only need 2/3 for a vote to pass instead of a unanimous approval by all memberstates.

the fact, that to get that piece through you had to please every fucking memberstate, with there own little perks and petty allowances for them to not vote no, and thus lose some authority... is well pathetic and really starts resembling US politics with their "Pork" and frankly will just be a road to self-enrichment and thus corruption

but Hey Power to Corporate Lobbyists they will surely want what's good for the entire people and not just for their quarterly margins.

With that reasoning everything will fall, and is hardly worth working for. But if you look at the US of A as an example, that's a federal republic of states that's been existing as a recognized country since the 1780ies. The only reason the EU will fail is if the population within it don't belive in it. And if they don't it shouldn't exist in the first place.

And Rhodgar, since you have nothing valid to ad too this discussion (neither of your post have, they've posted your opinion which is that you don't care), could you kindly stay out of this thread?

History has shown us the fall of a thousand empires. The USA is a country barely balancing with immigrants, gang violence and the extreme gap between the poor and the rich. The EU however, is a loosely held confederation of states ( Empire ) and even treats each state as a colony. The difference between the US and the EU is that the EU has to many "nations", you cannot simply have German, French, Netherlands cultures, I do see the benefits of the EU, and if it worked for another two hundred years that would be splendid. But who's to say that Germany will get sick shit of leading the EU, paying for undeveloped countries like Greece? Bailing countries like Ireland out constantly?



On a side note, in general aimed at nobody, Be less angry / emotional about your arguments. I prefer cold facts which don't reflect personal opinion to much.

Unfortunatly due to the nature of the thread and the on-going comments and discussions, I would like to inform you that this is being locked to prevent anymore of this nonsense spreading across the forums.

Regardless if the thread has been posted in the General section of these forums, the subject of politics or religion discussions have no room in a World of Warcraft related forum, if you enjoy talking about such crap serious subjects, direct it to somewhere else.
