The Shining Strand.

The Shining Strand stands as reminder of what once was. It stands as a beacon of hope of what may be again. It is a promise to the people of the Alliance.

Five years ago, on the shores of the Shining Strand in Silverpine Forest, people gathered and joined under the leadership of the High Priest Zylo. They vowed to one day reclaim what was lost and see the glory of Lordaeron rebuilt. Over time the intent and direction changed as politics and threats against all of Azeroth demanded it. The threat of the Burning Legion called them to the shattered world of Draenor where they fought and died for the security of their world. Vengeance called them to the icy shores of Northrend in pursuit of the Traitor King.

Events would have it though that during these trying time, these brave men and women would splinter and walk their separate ways, join other orders and organisations in pursuit of other goals.

However with the vile Traitor destroyed, it is time to renew our vows, our promise to the people of the Alliance and to the broken Lordaeron. We look to our lands in the north once more. The time has come to reclaim our former home, our new home. Under the banner of the Shining Strand we can and we shall forge a new kingdom and not only for mankind. A nation will be rebuilt for every race that desires a place to prosper, to live their lives free of mayhem, despair and terror.

A nation can not solely be built by strength of arms. Swords can not plough fields, armour can not protect against the elements of nature and strategy will not build a society. We are not merely an army but a people. We are farmers, miners, lumberjacks, fishers, doctors, hunters, merchants, smiths, masons, soldiers – a people on a pilgrimage to reclaim our lands and build a new home. Together we are a nation.

The journey and rebuilding will not be easy. We have the Forsaken and their allies waiting for us in the north. The world is getting darker once more as the shadow of death cover us and the dark waters stir, covering our shores by the stench of corruption. The very journey itself will test our mettle.

To overcome this, alliances will need to be brokered, new weapons will need to be built, new strategies and tactics will be laid out but most important of all, unwavering determination and the courage to do what must be done. Because no matter the odds, no matter the threat and no matter the hardships, as long as we stand true to our promise to the people and to ourselves, we will prevail.

No matter your past, your creed, your convictions, this is the time for redemption. Use what knowledge, skills or talents you have and gather around the banner on the white hallowed sands. Join the ranks of the Shining Skybacks in the air. Join the ranks of the Regiments on the ground. Join the men and women without whom none of this will ever be possible.

The Shining Strand is an RP-PvP guild with focus on the northern lands of the Eastern Kingdoms and we will be involved with the continuing conflicts.

We will go out and explore the world in an attempt to find and build a new home. It is epic in scope but it is in the details we will find our guild experience. We aim for a dark and gritty experience where morality is ambiguous and the goals justify the means. Within that frame we have a wealth of possibilities for role-play and development.

As we are a people on the move we won’t have a permanent base to begin with. We leave Stormwind and the other nations behind us to build a new land.

Membership is open to all races and classes because everyone has something unique to offer and contribute with. Everyone, no matter race or creed, will find a place to call home in the new nation.

This is not the tale of the rise of a kingdom. While a government will surely establish itself one day, it is far into future and not the tale of The Shining Strand. The focus is here and now. This is a tale of brave and armed settlers leaving everything behind to find a new home.

Down below you will find a short summary of each of the different branches that make up The Shining Strand

Civilians – A land is built from the bottom up and these are the people that will build it. They are labourers, craftsmen, merchants, farmers and everything in between. They are a nation and it is through them all this is possible.

Military – War and bloody conflict will greet us in the north and we need competent and hardened men and women to protect the people. They will fight on land and in the air and they will not stop until our lands are reclaimed.

Clergy – It is easy to despair in the face of such a momentous task. Our convictions will be tested during our journey as will our character. The clergy will be there to help us as healers, counsellors, priests, doctors or entertainers.

Officers – Our officers are Fortesgue, Dahian, Aisling and Lini. They lead the guild in game as well as out of. A few examples of their duties are organising events, managing forums, be leaders of The Shining Strand In-Character, coordinate with other guilds and enforce the guild rules.

The Shining Skybreakers – This is an airborne unit within the Military of The Shining Strand. It is an incredibly flexible and versatile unit and will be vital part in our campaign in the north. Not everyone is fit to serve in the Skybreakers though. Only those who have earned it may pin the Skybreaker Wings to their chest.
