Re: Tanarisi Immigrant Foundation
These are all in the Tongues file that Sophyra put together, but since it requires a bit of delving through, I figured I'd put 'em here. Some common Tanarisi words one might like to use:
Good day: fahti qashdi
Good morning: fati isheri
Good evening: fati nashari
Good night: fati 'arahi
Greetings/good health: wusallim
Hello: hashri
Master/lord/baron: bel
Mistress/lady: belet
Sir: tuhru
Miss: tuhriya
Prince: shahzada
Princess: shahzadi
King: shah
Queen: shahbanu
Emperor: shahenshah
Chief: shaykh
Commander: caliph

Re: Tanarisi Immigrant Foundation
Hey all. I was seeing troubles people had with lore and tongues etc., so being a generally cool guy I decided to convert the tanarisi dialect to TotalRP2 seeing as thats an addon 90% of people use.
Here is the link:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/m1zxq5
You need to place that file in World of Warcraft\Interface\totalRP2\
Currently, it has all the hash tables implemented, but not the specific words, such as King to Shash or Commander to Caliph. This is because I'm not sure if TotalRP2 has that feature yet, but if it does, I'll update it soon enough.

Re: Tanarisi Immigrant Foundation
Tongues is superior to TRP2 languages.
Problem is, TRP2 conflicts with it, which is likely why you had problems. You have to turn off the language and chat functions in TRP2 (in the Interface tab, in Settings) in order to get Tongues to work. Though this in turn breaks TRP2 languages.

Re: Tanarisi Immigrant Foundation
After Tongues has been updated for MoP, it suddenly accepted my Custom Languages! (didn't work before)
Now you can throw away 'Lore' and use Tongues! HALLELUJA
This is the 'updated' version of Tanarisi, I've added some more words to avoid repetitions in a single say, added most geographical names into 'ignore' list so that they are not translated and simplified the substitutes to be shorter and more practical.
Installation:
1) open the spoiler, select all text and copy it (ctrl+c)
2) go to //world of warcraft/interface/addons/tongues/custom
3) Open the file called 'customlanguages' with notepad (right click -> open with)
4) Paste the text (ctrl+v) at the bottom of the text file and save the document
5) Start WoW (or exit&start if it is running), right-click on your 'Tongues' button
6) Click on 'understand'
7) Type 'Tanarisi' into the window, set the slider to 'High' and click 'Set'
Congratulations, now you can speak Tanarisi by cycling through the Tongues button!
PS: unlike 'Lore', tongues renews its customlanguage file every update. That means that you have to repeat the procedure after every update! I will soon try to reach the creator of Tongues so that he includes the language into the addon.

May I -beg- people to play more TAnarisi? I know i'm Horde now, but they've added arabic items to some heroics, look at Whitemane's Embroidered Chapeau. They are BEAUTIFUL! And all I could think was, "Tanarisi!"

Re: Tanarisi Immigrant Foundation
Q: Are the Wastewander Bandits of Tanaris and nomadic humans of Uldum native to the region or did they come to Kalimdor during the period of the Third War? If it’s the latter, why did their societies change so much in the short amount of time between then and WoW?
A: The Wastewander Bandits descend from a small band of human pirates who arrived in Kalimdor shortly after its discovery by the peoples of the Eastern Kingdoms. When the Southsea pirates arrived and entered into competition with them, they were essentially marooned in Tanaris after their few ships were stolen. They took to a new life as bandits and started raiding rich goblin settlements and capturing their life-giving water wells. After the failure of Uldum’s cloaking device a few bandits split off from the Wastewanders to pilfer the treasures of the titans.
As such, I am closing this thread for some heavy re-thinking. Consider everything I've written null and void. (No, not THIS line!)
