[A Event] Thorium Rush(10-09-10)

"The Garrison Armory is a vital Alliance mining outpost near the Nethergarde Keep in the Blasted Lands. Here Alliance miners toil to gather precious resources and minerals for the Nethergarde Keep. These resources are frequently shipped to Stormwind in exchange for the other vital resources Nethergarde Keep depends upon to survive. In recent days, earthquakes, wich seem to happen more and more frequently across the Old Kingdoms, have opened up large new viens of minerals and ores in the mines. Thorium in particular

This rare metal combines the weight of lead with the strength of steel. Orcs prize it for weapons because the extra weight allows a skilled user to strike with more force. Thorium armor is amazingly heavy and strong — only adamantite pierces it with any degree of reliability.

Given the shortage of men and the dangerous roads, Nethergarde calls upon adventueres and treasure-seekers alike to come mine the precious metal. Fortune seekers alike now prepare for....the Thorium Rush!"

What is the event about?
Thorium has appeared in large ammounts at the Blasted Lands,This event will give your character a chance to RP outside the walls of Stromwind and give the old zones some attention before they change forever in Cataclysm.

What am I supposed to do at the event?
You roleplay your character naturally, is he there to search for valuable nuggets of Thorium? Maybe sell some supplies to the miners? Open a temporaiy shop or tavern? Keep the peace and watch out for bandits? Or maybe earn some quick money by stealing from the others?

This doesn't mean you need to need to act as a new character, just find a motive for him/her to be there, hopefully the above list may give you some ideas


But there isn't *that* much Thorium in the Blasted Lands! What I do now?
Simple, you RP it, it doesn't have to be in a node or anything, in fact, it doesn't even need to be Thorium you are digging up, who knows what other things your char may find down there...


When will this event be held?
The event will be held on Friday 10-09-10
Gathering point is Nethergarde Keep and the mines located closeby
You can allways join in at any time as long as the event is ongoing.
There is no end time set for the event, it's length will depend on the player's actions.
Calendar invites will be handed out and you can whisp me ingame for one.

It's time to open a saloon and serve whisky to the thirsty miners, and rob them of their newly-found Thorium by engaging them in gambling!

Good idea. We should hurry organizing even small events in all the zones which are going to be changed in Cataclysm.

Thorium is also useful for the creation of gadgets. bullets, bombs and other interesting thingamajigs...
