The IDIOTS in charge of my scholarship are now telling that apparently "everybody" (everybody being the other four stupid idiots) is failing the MCAT and now they're not letting me go next year AGAIN and they say I have to apply to the UK.

Applications for the UK are due October 15th, I have NOTHING done, I don't even have the extra subject I need for the UK because my idiot school wouldn't let me take it and now I'm STUCK yaaaay I love you Ktown I hope you all die and burn in hell.

Thanks gruff, I really appreciate it but honestly, I'm not sure you can help me much cause I'm part of a whole scholarship program so things are so complicated and annoying. :/ I was accepted for a scholarship to study medicine from the government here two years ago so the system is like completely different. I have to go through the same application procedures as normal students if I apply through the UCAS or whatever, but I have like a million but's and if's tied down to my contract and the ministry changes all the rules and regulations every two months, so ugh ...

What happened basically was that I was accepted at the end of last summer to go to med school in Canada, but I have to first do a year of Canadian high school first and then a 2 year pre-med course. But then the people in charge of my scholarship in Canada tell me, "Sorry nope, you can't come just yet. We can't let you do high school here. Go finish sixth form." And they told me this like four/five months after school started, so I had to basically teach myself half the course ... also one of the reasons the school wouldn't let me take a fourth AS because they didn't want me to put myself under more pressure.

And now I've started the A2 course and the ministry is telling me everybody is failing the med school entrance exam (the MCAT) so they're like telling me, "No, no, you can't go, you'll also fail." So my only other option is the UK, and they might not even let me transfer my scholarship to the UK, and most universities want four AS levels anyways and I only have three since my school wouldn't and still won't let me take the extra AS subject I need. And it's not like I'm doing poorly on my exams or anything so I don't know why they think I'll fail it, like I'm a straight A student and everything but my school are still being so bleh. I was thinking of just taking english lit and doing it by myself at home but the school won't even let me take the exam!!!

I don't know what to do ugh ... I swear, I'm just so sick of this stupid scholarship thing. Every couple of months, they change the rules, they tell me one thing and then later they tell me something else. I'm gonna try calling the international bureau of education in Canada later today and talking to themselves myself.

Cutting out your scholarship program people and going straight to the bureau might help, in the first instance. I deal with Ministry of Education bods in both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. And generally they're overly fussy, useless arseholes. And yes, they do mess up and don't know what they're doing. But that happens everywhere....

I'd question why they state you shouldn't complete the MCAT just because other people are failing. That's very bizarre advice - you aren't everyone else. That decision should be made on an academic level, based on your performance.

Entry into Medicine in the UK at Undergrad level is highly competitive, yes. But a good UG course advisor should be able to give you some specific advice with regards your quals etc. They may even be able to liaise with your program people through the Scholarship/Fees Office in the University. We do that here, sometimes, though it's mainly in the International Office (not my office). This would only be of any use though if you actually want to come to the UK. I wouldn't advise going chasing something because you feel you're pushed at it. It's a long time of study, and you should try and get the advice you can, and hopefully make a decision yourself (whilst obviously taking into account things like funding etc).

TLDR: Contact the Canucks firstly. See if they can help. Then maybe contact the specific course/Schools in the UK/elsewhere with whom you'd be interested studying.
