Alien Swarm: New free steam game.

For those not aware Valve recently released a new game on steam which is 100% free. I havn't tried it yet but it's valve so it should be interesting.

It's effectively Alien Breed. Which was one of the best games ever.

Pretty much a new clone of:


Though if free - it's cool.

There's some annoying bugs (some familiar to people who've played L4D) where you'll randomly be unable to connect to whatever server it directs you to. In other cases, the server isn't actually running the map that it was listed as (I somehow ended up on Syntax Residential 60% of the time even though I made an effort to avoid servers listing that map)

Anyway, just got my medicgun. Time to heal some dudes.

Sure looks alot like that free steam game that was alien vs marines aswell and in which you could evolve etc

I can't connect to games for some reason. Seems I'm doomed to offline practice. Which blows. Big time.

the was a mod for Half-Life 1. This is an entirely stand-alone game using the source engine, created by valve developers who previously worked in the the mod community.

My current steam name is Queen Reaper of the Freaky Moos (there's a miniature story behind that name, don't worry.) If anyone wants to play with me.

Awesome game, I was a weapon specalist(Thats the name?) On one match, everyone started dieing and I brought out the stationary turret.

Epic last stand of epicness was epic.

Me and some friends beat it on hard yesterday and went into insane with high hopes... hopes that were crushed pretty much instantly. Will see if I can tempt them to try again anytime soon.

My Steam name is herregud btw, if anyone wants to play.

Most of my steam friends are playing it at the moment...
One has been begging me to get it, but not sure if I can be bothered.

It's been long since I played a game with as enjoyable gameplay as Alien Swarm! Delete some of that Desperate Housewives or Top Gear off your harddrive and come play!

no, I just have a terribly small C: drive, and it's been filled with WoW, and the steam games I need for schoolwork in Hammer Editor (HL2, CSS, Gmod).

Played some with some DB'ers. Wicked fun laugh especially over skype.

But yeah I tend to mostly play special weapons with autoguns. Wouldn't mind being a medic more though, seems challenging ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE GETTING BLOODY INFESTED £^%$&%^*^&

Not me who always gets infested honest. We're just four people going through hardmode. But we got this dude who always head charged in first with a flamethrower one level and somehow kept getting infested.

I hear insane is rather....Insane. I even set Andrea on fire once by accident. It killed him as there was no medic nearby. Lolzworthy moment.

Hint for Syntax Residential and onwards if you don't trust your medic; bring electrified armor.
