A Mother's Plea
A letter appears on the desk of the Minister of Magic Vezullia R. Astroloxia, delivered with all of her paper work. After working long into the night she comes across the letter shoving aside documents.
Rosetta,
I am writing to you, in this darkest hour of my life. It has been several years, almost decades since I saw your face. You did not even say goodbye to me, your sister or your father. The light of my candle is all that illuminates this letter, we still have no home, we still beg and steal for our bread. But no longer do we do this in Gnomeregan, we do this on the Streets of Ironforge. Our so called protectors, yet the dwarves let us rot on the street as Mekkatorque did. I hear that you have become a Minister in Stormwind, I have no doubt you are a great woman with a loving family. I wish I could just hear your voice again.
Listen to my words my darling child, I let your father abuse you and your sister because I thought if I opposed him, we'd starve. I didn't mean to let you come to so much harm. I regret it every waking moment and it haunts my dreams at night. Your father is dead. He was slaughtered by his most violent demon; alcohol. I found him beaten in an alley, it ripped my heart out, no matter what you think he was once such a good and honest man. I require help, Rosetta. I need you, your sister has long since disappeared from my life, she ran from your father when we fled Gnomeregan. I fear she is with the man she ran from, in the next life. I am so alone. I need my daughter, and her forgiveness.
I know I will see you again,
Sleep well my beautiful daughter,
-Mother
Vezullia gazes at the letter, not a twinkle of saddness in her face she scrumples it up and throws it into the nearby bin before returning to her work.
