The Deeprun Society

In the dank underground that is The Deeprun Tram a group of individuals find their current home, having just recently returned to Stormwind after a long and tedious journey. The smoke-filled Brawl Pub and intoxicated patrons made for a good place to stay both anonymous and somewhat protected from the above. A small group of people would sit around one of the tables in the darkest corner of Bizmo's Brawl Pub looking beaten and worn. A large hooded figure would sit in the most central seating position. The figure did not speak, nor did he have any distinguishable features. His entire body was covered from head to toe in black as if he himself was a shadow. A figment of your imagination, non-existent. Always there. Always watching. Always judging. The Boss.

In the small amount of time that they had been back to the city the crew had spent as little time as possible in the over-world not daring to venture where they might not be wanted. Instead betting small amounts of coin on risky brawls even hosting a few of their own in a bet to acquire enough money for what they needed. New equipment. The Boss had made sure nobody was to go to the world above unless absolutely necessary. Stormwind City itself was a living and growing creature a creature that could swallow anyone up at any point should they make a wrong move. They would not make a wrong move The Boss would make sure of that. Today the day had come. The day where they would be allowed upwards. They had accrued enough funds to make it worth their while. To buy some new equipment for the coming months, to reacquaint themselves with the beast itself. Keep their eyes and ears open and to report any findings back to the Brawl Pub.

OOC

The Deeprun Society is a small group of people from different walks of life. People who have had fortunate upbringings and those who have had less than fortunate upbringings. The Deeprun Society is a very tight-knit organisation with plenty of it's own personal goals which can range from having somebody killed to building a new orphanage. Each member has their own goals which the Society will help them to acquire through different means. Alongside these goals there are the goals of the Society's leader. The Boss. Who's motives and meaning are completely unclear to anyone at this point but is an evolving storyline and plot which we want as many people to get involved in as possible. Quite simply we do not want to be the guild that is sat around all day doing nothing, we want to have a storyline flowing alongside our guild. Deception, trust, lies and scandal taking place which will not only change the way people perceive your character but also affect the guild as a whole.

Currently I am working on writing multiple stories and incorporating several NPC and DM'ed gangs which The Deeprun Society will run into as well as actual guilds and so forth. Members actions for example going and interacting with these people will bring genuine IC rewards that are not just promotions. For example a small group of members managing to hire a Blacksmith be he played by an actual person or an NPC will allow the guild as a whole access to new and improved weaponry and so on. We are building from the ground up here, starting off as a small poor society and trying our best to acquire  both reputation and power through many different means.

The Deeprun Society would most definitely be considered more on the shady side of things however they are not outright criminals. They may take part in criminal acts to further their own cause however they are not outright street thugs looking to make extra coin. Considering The Deeprun Society spends most of their time in Bizmo's Brawlpub it would only make sense they are experts in the brawling industry and with this we would also like to incorporate events and so forth for the entirety of the server.

Events

Brawling!

As mentioned alongside our own guild events we would like to incorporate our style of RP and make it fun for everyone therefore we are hoping to get up and running a -Monthly- brawling tournament. Name yet to be decided and so forth where people can attend and show off their muscled and toned bodies. Smash some teeth out and even take home some prizes!

Gambling!

Not a man or woman with muscles? More the kinda' person who enjoys a good dice game? We'll be setting these up too! Maybe even a little casino of our own the possibilities are endless. We're currently thinking of multiple dice games which can be incorporated into betting IC as well as a possible Hearthstone board using Real ID and Battletag! Once again: WITH PRIZES!

Item acquirers

The Deeprun Society have major access to the tramline from Stormwind to Ironforge. You need some "special cargo" delivered from place to place? Maybe some import and export jobs that -you- specifically need hands more dirty than yours to take care of. The Deeprun Society are also taking specific jobs regarding the acquiring of items. The more risky the item the more silver you'll need to fish out from that pouch of yours.

Lads, this sounds great to me.

I really like the building-it-up idea. It reminds me of the Thieves' guild in Skyrim, where you are asked to help rebuild the place. There you see actual improvements as results of your actions, such as new vendors taking up residence.

I do wonder how interaction with other guilds will go. From the post I understand that the phase where you are holed up below is finished now. Does that mean we will start encountering you on the streets? Smile

Possibly I might even show up with a character of mine one day, to check things out and to roll some dice!

Nick

PS: Nice touch with the music, and that guild logo artwork looks pretty sweet.

Actually that's just straight off the WoW armoury. Would be much better with something original like this.

This image is sweet and innocent and provokes an interesting question; what are they watching, are they watching us? Are we the true audience? Have this black couple superseded the extradiegetic levels of narrative to prey on us, the supposed viewer, and render our entire lives as but carefully crafted mimeses designed to entertain their sick, twisted minds? And if not, what are they watching on TV?

As for the guild, the concept is good, I'll give you that, but the reasons behind the failure of previous criminal guilds (this still surely counts) have never been the concept.

If you manage to go a week without any fourth wall breaking pop culture references that make no sense in the setting, then hats off to you and I wish you the best of luck. If not, don't get your hopes up.

Guild idea actually sounds very interesting. I wish you the best of luck.

And @Adry, please don't make another gif using that image. Stared at the last one for 30 minutes trying to figure out: why?
