The Banners march on the Iron Horde!
In response to the Iron Horde invasion, the Banners have been called to unite against this overwhelming  threat. This thread will be used for those participating in the campaign to keep themselves up to date with the doings of the banners. Furthermore, an IC  [Banners Board] will also be involved.

Sunday the 19th – The Banners gather in Stonard.
The Banners gather in Stonard to respond the threat of the Iron Horde. A vote is held for the command structure of the Banner, the choices being either a Commander or a War Council. The majority votes for a Commander, the majority of those voting for the War Council withdraws their support from the Banners and goes to form the 'Ironbreaker Council'.
Rargnasha Bloodmark is chosen as Commander of their forces.
A suggestion to denie the elves their vote is made by the bolts and backed by the Marauders, but the notion is quickly pushed aside.

- Rargnasha Bloodmark

Monday the 20th – The Banners go through a war training.
The Banners gather to go through a war training. They lay waste to forces ignoring the treaty in the Bloodmire, when expected to attack an alliance fortress in their great numbers, they stay their hand instead.
The training is concluded back at Stonard, where the rules of war are repeated. Follow the pack, obey your alpha, do not hesitate.

- Rargnasha Bloodmark

Tuesday the 21th – War Gathering is held, scouts are sent out into the Blasted Lands.
A War Gathering is held where strategy is discussed for the comming invasion of Okril'lon, the meeting is efficient, the advisors get to lay forth their ideas and make changes to the battle plans. Although there was disagreements, there was no needless bickering. The suggestion of co-operating with the seperatists was laid forth, and was reluctantly agreed to.

Meanwhile, a group led by Krogon Devilstep set out to scout the path leading into the Blasted Lands from the Swamps of Sorrow. A group of three Iron Horde artillery tanks were found lined up, and Iron Horde orcs were seen carrying satchels of explosives into the Nethergarde mines, but carried out no ore.

-Rargnasha Bloodmark.

Wednesday the 22th – A large group travels into the Blasted Lands to sort the trap.
A large group, guided by Krogon Devilstep, travels into the Blasted lands to sabotage the artillery tanks and find out what the explosives put into the mines were used for. Using a secret passage found by Kaigron Ripclaw, Stralow managed to flank the tanks from an unexpected direction and sabotage them before reinforcements overran his team.

Explosives found in the mine were to be set in a mineshaft underneath the road leading into the Blasted Lands from the Swamps of Sorrows. Had the trap been sprung, it would likely have buried those using the road. The explosives have been salvaged for the Horde, and samples given to the engineers of both the Banners and the seperatists.

-Rargnasha Bloodmark

Thursday the 23th – Victory! Okril'lon is invaded and taken for the Horde!
Since much changed since the day the plan was made, improvisation was needed. A new plan was quickly set into motion, and under the leadership of Nightsun, Baji Teabelly, Tzu'Coatl and Rargnasha Bloodmark, the Horde managed to wrest Okril'lon from the Iron Horde, managing to take them by surprise.
The Iron Horde is not laying siege to Okri'lon: The fortress entrance has been barricaded by a wagon and is constantly guarded to deter Iron Horde invaders. Moving to and from the Fortress by would be near suicidal due to the high amount of Iron Horde warriors prowling the surrounding area.
Stralow Steelhorn is over-seeing the makeshift defences of the Fortress.
Wards against scrying has been set up by Abulos Sunwing.

-Rargnasha Bloodmark

Sunday the 26th - The Defense of Okril'lon and Iron Intel.
Four Iron Horde siege tanks approached Okril’lon. Teams were established to set out to deal with them. Taking advantage of the forces sent to aid the siege tanks, two stealth teams were sent out to scout Dreadmaul post and Nethergarde Keep, looking at the set-up of their forces and intel that could be of importance to our efforts.

Nightsuns stealth team scouted Dreadmaul post, finding various prisoners from the Alliance and the Horde. Using the ogres low intelligence, they applied sleep poisons to make them believe their guards had been sleeping on the job, slipping around their camp otherwise unnoticed while marking down locations of prisoners for later extraction, along with figures of importance amongst the ogres that would need elimination.

Ripclaws stealth team learned the set-up of the Iron Horde forces at the ruins of Nethergarde, here they found various figures of importance, along with some rough estimates of the numbers we’d face.
Nethergarde boasted infantry and wolf riders.

Figures of importance were: Three skilled blacksmiths, a Blademaster, a Commander and an alchemist.

The groups who faced the Iron Horde invaders attempted to salvage the cannons after their success.
Groups were led by: Krogon Devilstep. Gazrag Stoneshield, Feltrand Ravensun and Rargnasha Bloodmark.
We managed to gather the following salvage from the Siege tanks, for our engineers to study:

-A heavily damaged and complex loading mechanism.
-An almost undamaged cannon barrel.
-A back of the tower(?) of the tank.
-Transmissions belts and gears
-Targeting system with broken gear for zooming on the telescope.
-A leaking pressure chamber for the hydraulics.
These items were sent to Stonard for our engineers to study in peace.

One tank was briefly commandeered by Stralow Steelhorn, but had to be abandoned when the other tanks turned to open fire on it, seemingly not willing to let their technology be captured.

Tuesday the 28th - Blood and Thunder - Assault on Nethergarde Keep and Dreadmaul post.
The time had come to strike at the Iron Horde. Using the information gathered, forces were sent to Dreadmaul post, under the command of respectively Gaelin of the Bloodsworn Vanguard and Nightsun of Silence. Gaelins approach to the Dreadmaul post was to invade with a large group and brute force their ways into the ogre lairs and take out some of their important figures.

They were both successful in their efforts. Nightsun managed to rescue eleven Horde prisoners, and Gaelin managed to free a Red Blade who had been taken prisoner after having been running messages between the Ironbreaker council and the Banners.

Meanwhile, Bloodmark led the majority of our forces on Nethergarde, with Krogon Devilstep, Garzag Stoneshield and Kogra Windwatcher each leading a group that was part of his forces. As we approached Nethergarde, they launched their heavy artillery upon us. Our mages shielded us with barriers, which shattered upon impact – But it gave us time to charge the cannons and take them out before they could reload. Once dealt with, each group split up and dealt with their objective.

-Windwatchers group confronted the alchemist.
-Devilsteps group confronted the blacksmiths and the blademaster.
-Stoneshields group confronted the commander.
-Bloodmarks group ambushed the enemy cavalry.

Most groups were successful. Stoneshields group were overwhelmed but reinforced. With most of the group near mortally injured, we managed to claim a narrow victory.

-Written by Rargnasha Bloodmark.

Thursday the 30th Defeat
Our forces were gathered and prepared to march on Dreadmaul Post and clear it out, allowed the Horde and Alliance a much needed breathing room, which would open our way to assault the defenses on the Shattered Beach and pave the way for the forces pinned down there (Alliance, Horde, Ironbreaker) to renew their assaults.

However, we had earned the ire of the Iron Horde, and as we fought our way through the ogres, strange chimera like beasts flew overhead and dropped explosives down among us, where-after they collapsed the passage behind us.

Our scouts warned us of a large unit marching on us, and as we got free of the ogres we saw a group of what was later estimated to be near a hundred Iron Horde orcs dressed from top to toe in some black armor, their eye-slits lit with elemental fire. They carried advanced weaponry of the same metal.

They seemed impervious to most of our attacks, so a retreat was called to Okril’lon. The Iron Horde elite unit wasn’t far behind us and we had to endure several salvos from those advanced rifles (we need such weapons). When we got further up the road, it seemed like the ogres we had been fighting earlier had made their way past the blockade, and were now successfully invading Okril’lon with the aid of the strange flying beasts.

We had to retreat further, or all of the lives of those under my command would have been lost. Was a bitter taste but we managed to make our way to Stonard, alive, but many wounded. Here, we fortified our position. The Iron Horde elite unit didn’t pursue us, for reasons unknown to us. I can only theorize that they didn’t have orders to leave the Blasted Lands, as the Alliance, Horde or Ironbreaker Council could otherwise take advantage of their disappearance.

-Written by Rargnasha Bloodmark.

Tuesday the 4th The Horde Gathers.
We gathered in Grom’Gol where Zuntzhui of the Fallen leaf told us about the Horde Gathering. I elaborated on why we had moved to Grom’Gol rather than Pandaria, as originally intended (Reason being the Iron Horde invasion).

Here, I told those gathered about the plan set out by leaders of the Horde and the Alliance, that we need time to prepare for a threat such as the Iron Horde, time we do not have..

Therefor, a plan was devised by the leaders of the Horde and the Alliance to make a focused assault on the Dark Portal, and send armies in there underneath the command of Thrall, son of Durotan. And ‘Maraad’, some draenei.

The Banners will be lending their aid to Thrall, son of Durotan, by flanking the Dark Portal from the East while the Alliance forces will be flanking the portal from the West. Once the portal area has been taken – The Volunteers will break off to march into the world of the Iron Horde, where we’ll attempt to shut down the Dark portal on their side, since shutting down the portal on our side would likely cause another cataclysm (said by experts), which Azeroth would not be able to endure.

This will be a one-way trip. A surprising amount of members of the banners volunteered for this dangerous task, so far we intend to follow the plans made for survival once on the Iron Hordes world made by the leaders of the Horde.

Good stuff, both Rarg and Grim with your Campaign threads. Due to phasing and otherwise it is a nice way to keep track of group movements towards The Iron Horde.

Sunday 26th

Silence, under leader, Nightsun, scouted the Bloodmaul area of Blasted Lands. There were no casualties and we were careful to only knock out or use sleep serum on the ogres we encountered at close range. We recovered a map (enclosed) and discovered that both Alliance and Horde prisoners are being held and tortured for information. We recognised Gaxaar of the Red Blades among the prisoners.
There seem to be two leaders, larger than the rest - one named himself Gurm the Torturer, the other named himself Gargon the Patroller. The camp is heavily manned (ogred?) and we were unable to see how we could rescue the prisoners without bringing the whole camp down on us.

(Etched into a sheet of stone, a set of Orcish runes rest.)

26th of the Month.

Under the leadership of Garzag Stoneshield. Groshnok Gorewrath, Kogra Windwatcher, Logush Heartseeker, Arkail Blastblade and Serahel Brightstar all set out of Dreadmaul Hold to advance against the location of the Southernmost Siege Tank. As soon as out the hold, we were immediately hit by an artillery shell from the tank. Luckily most of my squad were only damaged by shrapnel. With what forces I had uninjured by the blast, I formed up to face against a group of screaming Iron Horde Orcs. Each wielding two axes and they charged into us. As myself and one other were the only ones uninjured, we tried our best to fight off the group but some got through. After a hefty fight we were down to one Orc, but were interupted mid fight by Kradak Fistfist. Who, after refusing orders to leave the battlefield and reinforce another group, called out Groshnok Gorewrath, but did despatch the final Orc. Kradak then followed us, after still ignoring the order as we came under fire from a volley shot by a group of Iron horde rifleorcs.

Luckily we took no injuries from the volley, but as we marched over the hill we were confronted with a group of fully black-plate clad Orcs. Each standing a good head or two taller than any in my group. A heavy battle commenced, with ended in the heavy injury and near-death of Blastblade, Kradak losing a finger and several other injuries in the group, including myself. After we had finally defeated the heavy infantry, a lone Orc emerged from the tank. Sporting banners of the Iron Horde, and black plate. Charging forward, he Swiped his axe, knocking out Kradak, and sending him flying into Logush and kicked out at Groshnok. we finally managed to keep the Chief Orc busy as Groshnok planted the explosives. But eventually he noticed, and after sending myself, Kogra and Logush flying to the ground with blunt trauma wounds, he charged at Groshnok. Who managed to get back from the tank and explode it, with the Chief Orc there. The explosion, took out the Chief Orc and the rifleman surrounding it, leaving no much shrapnel.

We then returned out forces back to the Hold, placing Kradak and Arkail in the care of the menders.

The Chief Orc's last words sung about the Iron Horde getting their revenge, and this being only the beginning.

Day, 26th of Oxtober. Iron horde assaulted the Dreadmaul hold. Using the assault on the hold, Chieftain Rargnarasha decided to send scouts into holds of the Iron Horde - the Ogre camp and the ruins of the human base. Thothis is a story, to be told of those two groups...

Standing amongst the banners, were people of Silvermoon. Amongst them a Magister Feltrand Ravensun- he has gotten a part to lead assault on one of four Cannon Siege Tanks, that came to assault the Hold.
This is his Report at the end of the day:

We had armed ourselves with Explosives. Aeg had most of the experiance with them, so we gave him the honor to plant them, to not loose people due the wrong handing.

Striking quickly through the Iron Horde, we came to fight against three Brutes, acompanying the Cannon, which had three marksmans on it as well- seeign we will have a lot of work with the Brutes, I ordered them to fight against them, myself casting up a protective barrier between the brutes and the Riflemans.
Slowly we downed one by one. Seeign the crew getting to aim the cannon at the Krogon Devilsteps group and raising the cannon to shoot at them, I created an arcane wortex, pulling these crewmembers down. They offered no retaliation to our skilled forces.

Scavenging the Tank, we had found:
-Transmissions belts and gears
-Targeting system with broken gear for zooming on the telescope.
-A leaking pressure chamber for the hydraulics.

I have to comendate the abilities of pandaren Aeg orc shaman Gashuk and Nissa from elven ranks.
We had suffered minor injuries - perhaps commander himself the most of them.

This was a battlefield report from Magister Feltrand Ravensun, written on day 26th of Oaktowers month.

26th of the 10th month.

My group set out to deal with one of the approaching Iron Horde siege tanks that was approaching, before it could level our fortress.

Having used our own artillery to spread the enemy troops, we set out to make way through the scattered remains of the enemy before they could re-group.

After killing a pack of four Iron Horde orcs and their two ogre minions, two of our members were caugth in the blastwave of the siege tank.

Leaving our mender behind with the wounded, the rest of my group approached the siege tank and destroyed it using satchels of explosives salvaged from the Iron Horde days before.

Calling in assistance from some who had made it back to camp, we managed to salvage a: Badly damaged loading mechanism. An advanced cannon barrel and the back of the tank - Heavily dented but in one piece.

These items, along with the other salvage, will be sent to our engineers to examine. To see what can they can learn, of the Iron Hordes defenses, and how to improve our own technology.

In the final event of this campaign, the day before WoD is released, we'll be used the method described at the last page of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] thread.

We -might- use it for other events too, either during the campaign or the future. Please inform your guild and have them prepare if they're interested in taking part in such events.

Report, The night of the 26th of the 10th month.

My party set out on the far left flank of the battle-field attempting to engage the Iron horde infantry protecting one of the Artillery guns they had begun to prepare in the open field for use upon Dreadmaul hold.

After fighting through three waves of their foot-soldiers, and receiving minimum injury to all of us we succeeded in chasing of the Weapons crew. Unfortunately one of them made it to a reserve regiment waiting in the hills to the east.

There upon in a snap judgement i instructed Stralow steelhorn to turn the weapon and fire it at their ranks. With the moving of levers and the roar of an engine, the weapon turned and was quickly fired. The explosive shell wen't off among the middle of enemy ranks and caused the route of that force.

Sadly our newly captured artillery piece quickly became the target of the other artillery guns in the field. One shell missed us narrowly and we placed our explosives aboard it and fled to safe distance before the second shell struck it directly, destroying it.

From the wreckage, Stralow is piecing what he can together, sadly the shell that struck it has caused enormous damage even to the debris. All of my pack returned alive and well with minor cuts and bruises.

Iron Intel regarding the Iron Orc incursion upon Nethergarde Keep.

3 smiths work in squalid conditions, they forge axes and shields that are built for heavy use,
possible armour breaking due to their short hilts and thick head.

A single Blademaster keeps watch from outside the blacksmithery.

A command structure is in place, a single Orc commander commands from atop the main keep,
he holds the map where upon he will lead the various iron orc soldiers where we observed:
Shock Troops, foot soldiers that work as a single unit & are being trained by well disciplined captains. Counted around 40 of these.
Iron Outriders, Wolf mounted troops that, again are a well disciplined unit consisted of around 15 wolves.
Incidenary devices, explosives that come in a variety of shapes and sizes, mainly the typical spiked ball that we have come accustomed to.

The basement houses a single Orc where he holds & draws the schematics to these various explosive devices. So far 96 of the large spiked bomb
are ready for deployment, 6 are made per day. They need chalk and coal to manufacture the gunpowder, hence the mine takeover.

There was no word on timings, only that the commander stated that the attack on Okril'lon Hold will commence.."Soon.."

A small note is attached to the bottom of the board, some crudely written orcish scribbled upon it.

We have a guest in our camp, a Warsong orc with the attitude of a stung kodo and the humility of a drunk Kor'kron. The orc rests under my responsibility. Any whom find themselves insulted, assaulted, maimed or otherwise are to seek me out after the act, if still able.

Furthermore, the next fool to take away the Scorpid carcass from the watch-hill absent warning, will find himself shitting boot leather. To be clear enough for you, that is not just any idle Scorpid. That is MY lunch.

Report, night of the 28th day of the 10th month,

My pack was tasked with destroying the smithy in nethergarde and slaying those who occupied it. My pack carved our way through grunts and peons until we entered the building, finding three weapon-smiths inside.

One tall, one short, one of average height. but each had various weapons and new how to use them in unison. As the fighting started we tried to seperate them with success., but injuries occured as the trio were slain. Ju-sin was struck a glancing blow by one, and Karasha a mortall head injury by another. Once all three had been slain we attempted to move our wounded and depart the smithy to seek out the 'Blademaster'.

Ki'roth of the dragonmaw came to us. Spitting insults and slurs at me, he demanded Mak'gora. With two of my pack already injured and with Steelhorn and Sipclaw sabotaging the smithy, i had little choice but to accept.

Ki'roth despite being twice my size and a third of my age... was an overly proud, naive fool. I split him in half from hip to hip and collected his head. Once done we withdrew from Nethergarde to meet with other forces of the banners and began the withdrawal.

I place high praise on all those in my group for their bravery and team work.

Lok'tar ogar, for the Horde.

Night of 28th.

I took a small group of rangers and dancers into Dreadmaul hold once more, this time, our aim was to find and rescue any prisoners. We made our way inside, finding the cave to be much bigger than we anticipated. We knocked out the guard at the entrance, but we had to kill the ogres we found as we worked our way into the cave. Whilst killing one huge brute with heavy plate armour, we accidently alerted some others and one managed to escape. However, we managed to free and rescue five orcs. the rest we found long dead. Once out of the cave with few and minor casualties, we found the rest of the camp on alert, and could not search the other caves, however, I was informed upon returning to base that another group had rescued those in the other caves.

28th of the 10th month.

Going by the reports given by the previous scouting. Artillery resistance along with an ambushing manuver was anticipated by the enemy wolf riders.

Mages were deployed to shield against the enemy artillery until we could get our warriors close enough to take out those operating the cannons.

Once at Nethergarde, our forces split up and set about their objectives.

Mine would ambush the ambushers.

Deploying shaman to throw the enemy off their mounts, and mages to thin their numbers in the initial chaos, we reduced their overwhelming numbers to ash.

A viscious battle ensued, many of the wolf-riders had managed to enter a blood rage. Two of our casters, a mage and a shaman, were visciously wounded. Most other walked away with minor injuries.

The majority of the group and those wounded most harshly were sent back to camp. As Stoneshield called for aid, I gathered volunteers and moved to assist him.

His battle looked like a slaugther pit, of our side.

Eventually we killed the enemy Commander and carried our wounded home -There were many.

The Banners gathered in Okril'lon to march on Dreadmaul Hold. The battle against the ogres went well in the beginning - Until scouts called out that a company of nearly a hundred orcs clad in armor were approaching.

Strange beasts, called Rylak, flew over the Banners and bombed the pass behind them, cutting off their way back into Stonard. They carved a path through the ogres in time to see the Iron Horde elite. All of these soldiers were dressed from head to toe in a strange, black metal, their small eye-slits lit up by what looked like an elemental flame. The two front rows were carrying complex looking rifles - And used them with devastating efficiency.

As the Banners attempted to retreat to Okril'lon to re-group, they found that the ogres had forced the blockade made by the Rylak and had invaded the fortress with aid of the Rylak bombers.

Having their fortress taken, the Banners retreated out of the Blasted Lands with the Iron Horde Elite hot on their heels. They attempted to stem the tide of iron and fire with a landslide between the Blasted Lands and the Swamps of Sorrows, but it was quickly broken through by the elite force.

Ragged and worn from repeated volleys of Iron Horde rifles, the Banners arrived at Stonard and fortified their position, preparing to stand against the Iron Horde elite together with the Horde troops based there.

However, instead of sending their army, the elite forces sent a messenger who warned the Banners that their efforts had been futile and that the entire world was lost. An offer of mercy, a quick death, was made - And profoundly declined.

For reasons unknown to the Banners, the Iron Horde Elite, rather than attacking Stonard, pulled back into the Blasted Lands.

Here, they've reinforced Nethergarde Keep until fresh reinforcements can arrive from the Dark Portal to aid the Iron Horde at Okril'lon and Nethergarde Keep. Once they've arrived, this elite unit will return to the Dark Portal.

Unknown to the Banners, a brave unnamed grunt led the defense of the troops stationed at Okril'lon, to slow down the ogre advance in a blaze of glory, buying the wounded enough time to scatter out into the Blasted Lands, giving them a chance at survival.

[H] The Banners March on the Iron Horde! Empty Re: [H] The Banners March on the Iron Horde!

The Falling Leaf and Dawnchasers were unfortunately unable to hold Okril'lon together with the others that remained behind to defend. Realising resistance against so many armoured ogres was futile, the Matron ordered we grab the injured and make our way through a pass through the mountains and into the Swamp of Sorrows as a rain of fire desolated the fortress.

Thanks to the Matron's good timing, most were able to escape to Stonard.

((Really cool! Unfortunately we were unable to attend due to Thursdays behind bad for us Sad So hopefully this explains our absence Wink ))

Gotta say as my first event I took part in on Horde side in the last like year and a half I had a lot of good fun even though we got our asses totally handed to us by the Iron Horde. Thanks for organising it <3

(This following entry is on a parchment scroll, sealed with wax which represents Horde symbol. These are handed to leaders of the Banners)

Day: Second day of the Day of the Dead
Three days after staying in Stonard due the push of the Iron Horde.
A meeting was declared between leaders of the Banners and the Alliance counterpart.

The meeting started with by the regulations greets of the members, tho quiet.
Both leaders of the negotiation parties stood forward and spoke.

On Horde side, Rargnarasha Bloodmark, chieftain of the Orcs of the Red blade, and warleader of the Banners.

On Alliance side, Helmut Spoon, Spymaster of the Alliance, Minister of Defence
and head of the Alliance Military and the Call of Arms act.

Tho these two figures were both leading parties at the negotiations, the rest were speaking freely.
Tho in end, both sides came to these conclusions, which are now given in to you.

Summary of the Negotiation, for the Leaders of Banners.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
REMEMBER: These are now the things agreed by the Banners and the Call of Arms.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-We'll be sending volunteers through the Dark Portal and attempt to shut it down on their side - WHATEVER IT TAKES.
-We cannot keep fighting the Iron Horde in a sustained battle - there shall be a meeting in one week's time,
to discuss more tactics on how to strike into heart of the enemy.
-Striking at enemies shall be a JOINT EFFORT! - Forces of Banners shall strike from Swamp of Sorrows while
forces of Call to Arms have agreed to attack from Surwich: an alliance village in south of the Blasted lands.
-And lastly and most importantly: THERE IS A CEASEFIRE. The Iron Horde is our main target.
Will it come to attacks from inside our groups, the punishments will be severe.
