How old is your character OOCly?

This is a minor talk that came up a few days ago in guild chat, figured it'd be nice to toss in here and see the kind of responds.

So how old is your current main roleplaying character in OOC time? Like how long have you been working on this character?

Ferbian is technically 2 weeks old, but has some minor things from a character I played for 4-5 months back in Cata as well, but ideally 2 weeks yeah.

300 days of played time old.

About a year or two I think now.

I created Helmut back in January 2 or 3, 2006. He is my special little boy. My baby. I've watched him grow up.

Formally over one year old. However, if I add to this the time on previous servers, and before that some initial adventures on private servers, and all the maps I created for Warcraft III, then "my paladin" concept is really old.

Adelane is almost a year old, Calamity has existed in various different incarnations for 3 years now, and Anneeta I've also had in varying incarnations for 7 years.

Had Ixirar since summer 2007. I was 14 years old at the time. Damn.

Kavalis became a thing on WOTLK release day, so he's turning 6 this year.

My current character, Daryon, is barely a month old, with my mage predating him by another month. Jian Shu was created on MOP release day, so he's just about 2 years old.

My Arte is about 1 to 2 years old, I think, and my priest is about 3-5 years old!

Thaldir I've had for one and a half year. Thon I've had for two years Simaria I've had for almost two and a half year.
Lannael is coming up to a year.

Eight months now if I'm not mistaken, that was also the first time I ever RP'd and I don't regret it a single bit, still enjoying it as much.

The character that is Rargnasha today (Named Ragnasha back then), popped online as a confused orc peon near the beginning of DB, beacuse RP-PvP realms were way more interesting than Earthern Ring!

Krogon was made in... October 2009? So thats five years now.

Yeah, overall very happy with how he's turned out, took some time and practice but he has a very unique and well fleshed out personality that holds many complex depths and angles.

Lini's been around since summer 2005.

Tant was my first char i made on WoW! On different name and different realm tho, but that shall not be spoken off. I was freaking 12 years old! What a strange times... /facepalm

Got my first game time at 04/06/2006. Played on Tant is 99 days atm..

Lavian has been around since day number one of WOTLK expansion so... As old as any DK can be I guess? My former main, Melfeena/Ovelia/Ireth... September 2005.

My paladin was made in the March after TBC so 8 years or something? Haven't played in 2 years but when I quit it was gettin' close to 400 days played time. So it had past the whole "year of my life" time-frame.

Drustai is slightly older than her in-game time. I came up with the concept back in vanilla, when she was originally my AD warlock's succubus! So she's about 8-9 years old.

Areyah and Saphra are both older than their appearances in WoW.  Areyah as an archtype existed in a slightly different form in Star Wars Galaxies and as my Shepard char in Mass Effect about two or three years before I adapted her for WoW. She's my youngest character archtype in overall time, despite being my oldest in maturity (Dru is older by years, but isn't characterized by an "older person" personality in the way Arey is). Due to being my newest archtype, she's benefitted the most from my previous experiences in RP and so is one of my best-portrayed characters. She was less refined in her SWG portrayal, but that helped me iron out what worked and what didn't which lead to a much better character when I redesigned her for WoW. This makes the archtype about 4 or 5 years old, give or take, with about 2 years of that in WoW.

Saphra, though my youngest character by IC age, is my oldest archtype. The WarCraft version of the character was my first char in WoW, back on AD in vanilla, making just the WoW version of the archtype 9 years old and older than Drustai. But the archtype is even older than that, as she was one of my first characters over a decade and a half ago. The archtype has gone through many revisions over the years through different portrayals in different universes. I'm currently playing yet another variant over on EVE. Due to being my oldest, the archtype has gone through the most revisions and is the most improved. The original ones were fucking awful, but she's the character archtype that I really learned how to RP with. I think the very first one I made was in 2000, making the character archtype 14 years old.

Brigs is from when I first started RP in late 2011, I think it may have been october/november time. The rogue I used for him was from 2008 though.

Catari was made in the very early days of TBC. Once you go belf, you never go... uhm, something else.

My old main was made in march 05 on AD. When DB and TVC servers was opened in september, i made a new char on TVC. Renamed and racechanged since then though.

Ariel used to be a human male named Priestofart. (read that as you wish.) Back in the days I wasn't a roleplayer and leveled up on a realm called Saurfang along with my friends whom I have long since forgotten except our lovely Charlie. The character is of course a priest and was originally a healer however I changed it to Shadow priest once I got into PvP. I never reached past level 55, because my goal was to unlock the Death Knight and I couldn't be asked to concentrate about more then one back then.

Wolfshielder/Emily Duskbringer, aka Sonikana back in the days, was created in the beginning of Wrath of the Lich King after I had leveled up Priestofart to 55, I leveled him to 80 and got lazy from there on, didn't go into dungeons, raids or PvP. Funny enough the transaction from Priest to Death Knight was what got me interested in writing stories and English in the first place! But that's a story for another topic. (Not IC ATM.)

Ploppy, aka Bavragor Stormbrew was my third character and he quickly grew to become my favorite, he was created in MoP and was the introduction for me into Defias Brotherhood and roleplay in general. Long story short, he was the flood gate to my inspiration. Thanks to the Three Hammers for that! (IC 83 Years.)

Thorvald, my favorite character in the whole list was created a bit later in Mist of Pandaria, the reason I created this character was because Rosieanna had recently died and the North Roleplay was dying out, so I moved down south with a new character and joined the Freelancers. (IC 52 years.)


Sadly I can't set a precise number on them all, and two of them might not be right.. I'm looking at Ploppy and Thorvald. Priestofart and Sonikana would later be moved to Defias to become the infamous Martha. (Thank the light I killed them off..) Later Martha became Ariel and Martha(DK) became Wolfshielder. Now the DK's gathering dust(?) while Ariel is still acing it through PvP.

Oh, we're not just talking about the actual roleplaying characters? Well in that case, Adelane has existed as my main Hunter since the first few weeks after release of Vanilla.
