Re: Discussion - Worgen Offspring
I treat it the way the game does: like a werewolf curse, like rabies. I.e., must include saliva. I don't think it transfers through sexual eh, fluids.
I'd had this discussion in other threads; the general consensus is that it wouldn't be transferred by genes (obviously) but might be transferred mother to child through the blood. If so I'd again treat it like werewolf lore irl: the shifting begins at puberty.
Worgen are based on werewolves in most senses, I'd refer back to werewolf lore in most cases when there's gaps.
"Would the baby shift at the same time as the mother or be harmed?"
Well... armor changes on druids according to lore. So maybe their babies just sort of... have room made inside. Worgen form is a druid form, technically... So... Yeah I'm going with that! *cough* IT'LL BE FINE.

I don't get the people who think that the bady is somehow crushed if the parent transforms. That's silly. It's a magical curse. Everything else in the body should be crushed or changed, too, but it alters to fit the new form. So, surely the same would happen with the womb.

It is transferable through whatever the plot demands it to be transferrable through, and will transfer only when the plot wants it to.

Re: Discussion - Worgen Offspring
I tend to think of Worgen as inherently sterile whilst they are cursed no matter the form they are in. It's just a subject that isn't at all explored in-game or in lore, and I don't think it can be explained away with science as it's a curse, not a disease. There have been no records of Worgen giving birth to biological children and there's no evidence to suggest it can happen, since Worgen 'reproduce' or 'procreate' by infecting others.

And nothing says they didn't in the end i guess it's up to the player. Consider that we see Drenai kids, blood elf orc or human but not troll children nor gnome or dwarf etc.
I think the whatever the story demands thing suits for each persons needs.

Re: Discussion - Worgen Offspring
There's no record of them having children simply because the lore on them has barely been mentioned before Gilneas. The Gilneans are new lore and have had no development yet really- Also I see no reason for them to not be able to have children. If it was like that and every human became infected then the race would die quickly.

Actually, you see both Goblin and Gnome children. One Goblin model with freaky eyes, but the typical Goblin and Gnome child is just minimized models of the adult ones. See Speedbarge and Children's Week.siegmund wrote:There have been no records of Worgen giving birth to biological children and there's no evidence to suggest it can happen, since Worgen 'reproduce' or 'procreate' by infecting others.
