An Art section

Is it possible to have an Art gallery section like we have the library? So that artists can create their own art threads within it specifically for their characters and stories!
A sticky called the ''Picture post'' For every-one to post their art and creations and then people can make their own gallery threads within it. That would be greeat! =)

I pretty much support this.... easier to navigate the art of your favorite artists and makes it that bit neater.

Not everything needs its own section. True. But this would be one of the things that does need its own section. I love looking at character art but haven't gotten around to viewing half the drawings on this forum purely because it's too much hassle.

Let's make a new art section then, with a subforum for each art style, in which there will be subforums for each artist who can then create a new thread for every drawing.

You're not hilarious nor constructive.

Drawn art deserves it's own place on the forum, where it can be browsed easier by artist rather than through one thread in General Chat.

It's really not that important. We don't have enough active artists to justify a subforum. This isn't a community about art, it's one about role-playing. Most people who post their art in that thread will be active in communities that are about art as well, the art thread here is just a little bonus to show off to follow role-players.

Art is another form of storytelling and deserves it's own sub-section within the Library or some other more neatly organized thread than a 60 odd page thread.

Well, it wouldn't be too hard making a section in the library section, renaming that Library and Art or something along the lines.

By that logic, there should be a subforum for all the other topics discussed there as well.

I'm just humbly requesting the moderators and admins of this place keep an eye on what a role-playing community needs, and not what every individual role-player requests. Keep the forums about role-playing. That's what they're here for. Don't drown it in countless subforums that will see little use.

I must agree with Delidah. A gallery to view artwork would be nice, but this is a forum about Roleplaying, not a picture gallery. The site is not really designed for such mass of pictures.

A separate site could work better, or simply (somehow, don't even know if that is possible) making a sub-section in Deviantart named Defias Brotherhood Art with an easy link from somewhere?

A Deviant Art thing already exists, But I don't know how DeviantArt works so you'll have to find it yourself :3

I agree with the Delidah as well. It's not that hard to search for threads with certain keywords in their content. There's already too many subforums and all that kerfuffle.

Not to mention that the unregistered can't view pictures anyways.

Well, people can make their own art threads in their library sections, and then instead of posting a picture in the art thread they can link to their library section. That could work too.

I agree with Delidah as well since the amount of forums, sub-forums and so on is getting beyond ridiculous. Just keeps getting harder and harder to locate what you intended to look after to begin with.

Instead of its own section, would it be possible to tidy up the art thread and put names of each of the artists on the front few pages and their artwork below? This would make it so much easier to navigate to art you want to look at without having to scroll through loads of "Awesome!" "That's great!" "Omg, draw my char!" "Cannfenbfi"... Like this:

I just have an art topic in my library forum.

Personally I'd just rename the Library forum "Art and Stories", and have both stories and art there. If you want to use your personal subsection in that forum for either art, stories, or both, that's up to you!

You could always just put your drawings of Wulfgnar in his character profile, like I've done with Zalissa!

This sounds reasonable! And yes, it make be a roleplaying forum, but some people prefer to draw comics of their stories instead of actually writing them!

That sounds pretty good, yeah. I have both art and stories, could be handy to just dump em all in there.

Comics, I agree with... but standard drawings... I'd take a 1k story over a picture anyday!
