Mana Bomb RP Campaign

So i've got an idea that some might find stupid and outlandish!

I'm wanting to build up to a RP-PvP campaign (inspired by the Jade Campaign) that is based around the Mana Bomb that was used on Theramore.
Basically S7 will begin to hunt down the creators of the Focussing Iris powered mana bomb, and in the process (after a few S7 events) begin
to involve Alliance military and adventure/artifact hunting guilds.

So at this stage I'm putting together rough ideas of a number of RP cookie crumb events that cover the entire Azeroth and maybe Outland,
the overall concept is to follow clues, artifacts and interrogations until we find how, whom and where the Mana Bomb was created.
I'm wanting to involve all the community as this could be major server lore RP, hence why i've created this ideas thread so i can see if i'll be
wasting my time and be laughed from existence, I'm not well known within the community so please be kind.

So at the moment I'm searching for Horde NPC's / RP'ers to play the part of the evil genius's who built the Mana Bomb.
Kor'kron, Garrosh loyalists to battle against.
Alliance guilds, groups, communites that are actually interested in joining.
Players cookie crumb event ideas, no matter how small aslong as it can lead to another event.
I'll be adopting the beautiful Skarain map update addition.
DM rolled use of Gyrocopter squadrons, Wyvern rider attacks, Goblin sappers and a Horde v Alliance Gunship battle.

Thats about as far as I'll go for now as it's still on notes scattered around my studio. So please let me know your thoughts

Is there any ingame explanation how the focusing iris is attached to the mana bomb? Mana bombs aren't exactly new.

The focusing iris empowered it, making it far more destructive than normal mana bombs.

It's not so much attached to it, looking at the construct in the scenario it's encased (the actual iris) inside a metal ball, when detonated it emits the blast destroying everything apart from itself.

I've always played the part of being involved with the creation of the mana bomb. (And since it was used, has regretted it and abhored anyone who smiles at the thought. Please don't kill me )

Malygos used the Focusing Iris to direct the power of the surge needles, dragging magic up from the ley lines and through the Nexus. The Elves, I imagine, did much the same thing, used it to draw power to amplify the already destructive mana bomb.

My goblin Delidah is trying really really hard to manufacture weapons of mass destruction for the Kor'kron as well.
