RP-PvP Campaign in May
Hello everyone.
Im looking to make a RP-PvP campaign here in May, and Im looking for some to take the role as co-ordinators for the Alliance side of things.
There are several places where this can take place, and due to the rather lengthy time we've got in advance, people can align their stories to fit slide into the campaign setting when the time comes, should they wish to take part.
I believe there was a pole in the previous thread, but I reckon I will ask here again - Which places would people personally like to see used, why, and any interesting ideas for stories that could be connected to the initiation of the campaign?
So far my own shot is that with the Alliance offensive defeated in Northend, and the Horde's grasp on Tol Barad, some raids upon Westfall, Duskwood, Redridge and perhaps as far as Elwynn could be interesting.

I'd like to see a campaign across Outland where the outdoor pvp objectives are used actively.

Re: RP-PvP Campaign in May
If this takes Place in Duskwood, then the Ordo Arcana will definitely have to participate, being stationed in nearby deadwind pass with our sanctum. While I am probably not with the right experience or skill concerning organizing matters of real Rp-PVP campaigning, please Contact me in some way about it, especially if it is around Duskwood! The Ordo Arcana plotline will modify due to a war at its borders!!!

I'm sure the Empire can be... persuade.. to keep alliance at bay when it's happening in Duskwood and such, since it's so close to our precious jungle.
Re: RP-PvP Campaign in May
Challenge accepted! We need an allout wizard battle between Alliance and Horde Mages by Deadwind! (would be kind of nice, actually )

I agree, both Halaa and the Hellfire garrisons could work very well.erwtenpeller wrote:I'd like to see a campaign across Outland where the outdoor pvp objectives are used actively.

Re: RP-PvP Campaign in May
I think it'll do wonders for the role-play if the objectives are clear and visible, and it will take a load off the campaign organizers to be able to point to an area and say "The faction who controls all three towers by the end of the night wins".
Plus, there are people like me who only got well into the game after TBC, and have never seen those areas alive and active. I'd like to see that sometime.

Agreed, I like both Duskwood and parts of Outland. Been too long since we had a go at the trolls of the jungle as well. Â

Re: RP-PvP Campaign in May
As for Outland ideas, XÃ valis already had a few places in mind for some weekly events.
This is taken straight from the Dom forum:
"So I wanted to bring this up and discuss it abit.
What if we had a weekly event on Defias Brotherhood that would encourage world pvp in zones that no longer see anyhting else than lowbies rushing through the content?
Today I have been flying around in the entirety of WoW looking for horde and alliance settlements that face eachother naturally and are somewhat equal in size.
here is my list:
World at war
Outlands
Thrallmar VS Honor Hold
Zabra'jin vs telredor
Thunderlord stronghold vs Sylvanaar
Stonebreaker hold vs Allerian stronghold
Telaar vs Garadar
Shadowmoon village vs wildhammer stronghold"
Hope this list is useful for you guys.
Best of luck, may we meet on the battlefield.

We could do a diff settlement vs settlement giving us 6 days, tho we could hold campaign that would cover a few days per settlement with some rest time in between. Covers more time, multiple fights too.
Only problem zone in that list is Thrallman vs Honor Hold due to Shrike/FV/Shade responding to world def since those places are easy to reach.

Outland sounds great. Some nostalgia before Draenor happens. I agree with erwtenpeller's thoughts and would love to see campaign happen in Hellfire/Zangarmarsh. Zabra'jin taztingo troll mon yaay! \o/

Don't fool yourself, everywhere in the world is "easy to reach". If they want to join in, they can, and they will.Peridotz wrote:Only problem zone in that list is Thrallman vs Honor Hold due to Shrike/FV/Shade responding to world def since those places are easy to reach.
The advantage of using tangible w-pvp objectives that blizzard has made mechanical is that you can allow randoms to join in without causing too much chaos, the objectives of the night will be clear to everyone. Only we, us role-players, will dress those objectives up with a nice story.
If you would want an open structure for the campaign you could even count up the score of every area every night at a certain set time.
11 'o clock! Time to count up!
The horde happens to own the most towers in hellfire, point to the horde.
The horde might have the flag in zangarmarsh. Another point to the horde.
But the Alliance might own Hala, wow! Points to the alliance.
Etcetera.
You would turn the whole of outland into one gigantic battleground for a week, with objectives that are easy to track, explain and manage.

Re: RP-PvP Campaign in May
Erwtenpeller his idea does sound great, just like him as a non-TBC player I've always longed to see those places filled with (Horde) corpses!
However Rarg his initial suggestion sounds good to. Wild Tempest will be willing to join in either way.

When Northern Pines was announced, the Band of the Brave, Disciples of Light and Blazing Shields had just returned from Northrend.

I do support this idea, even if it would not be done in the Campaign of May. The above is an excellent way of including non-roleplayers for a RP-WPvP conflict. Inviting WPvP guilds for a RP-WPvP event usually carry the risk of being ganked to hell. However, if we can come up a reason or excuse for war-waging forces of both factions being let into Shattrath, we Roleplayers can take shelter within the Sanctuary walls when we are not RP-WPvP'ing. Such an event could bring a lot attention to Defias Brotherhood as a RP-PvP server, and might also attract those who do not normally RP to try it out with those who are hiding in Shattrath.
As for Duskwood, Redridge, Westfall, Elwynn area - It'd be nice to see War come knocking on the Alliance footsteps. Just take into account that Stormwind folk will eventually learn about your presence, and once they do, you will get regular visits. Alliance RP'ers learned that during our Durotar Campaign.

Re: RP-PvP Campaign in May
I'm quite in favour of playing the PvP objectives in the outland zones. Sounds like it would make a fun change from the usual way things go.
Edit: might be worth it to have score from the the Auchindoun towers be weighted slightly differently than say the Hellfire forts as you can only play them every few hours while you can contest Hellfire's forts 'till the cows come home.

Re: RP-PvP Campaign in May
The problem with the outland W-pvp objectives is that two out of the four only work/operate at specific times. Ultimately only the Hellfire ones are any great use, but this community has never been stopped from working around or over obstacles before. ewrt more or less nailed it with the time/points idea for objectives held, and if we move zone every two or so days it should shake things up nicely. Halaa... so much potential for Halaa.
As for Non-RP guilds, i'm extremely dubious. Dominion (god bless them) wised up to the fact that its better to be on side with us to get access to w-pvp, it was an enlightened and bold choice on their part and despite not all being Rp'ers they continue to make huge strides and efforts to work with us and abide by the ethos and rules we set. I take my Hat off to them.
Shrike and the shade however continue to flaunt, mock and very much spit in the eye of our community despite many attempts to bring them into the fold. Now don't take that as me being buzz kill, I just won't tolerate them on any further campaign should they prove to recklessly trash this one (which in all probability they would) if they are included.
Shattrath has potential as an advertising hub, however on a logical level I doubt the Sha'tar would tolerate us using their city as a spring-board to kill each other, but who knows... maybe some more concrete reasoning will arise.
And yeah Skar, I keep telling Rarg that elwynn/duskwood is a bad... BAD idea.
All in all, now i've had a think about it, Outland could make for one hell of a good campaign.
