A Dream - Server Merge Pure RP

I know it will never happen and to keep trolls and oocers out would be impossible. But I've always dreamnt for a merge of a few RP servers with a high population and every one was a Rper. Would be so nice to have RP going on everywhere. All the cities packed full of people living out their chars lives and to see ooc in say would be a myth. Just wondering if any one else ever wanted this or are rather happy with how it is now?

As I said I know it wouldn't happen but it would be so cool so many differnt guilds running around bumping into people random RP gold.

Well pure rp would be a dream and a nightmare (for me) i like raiding and pvping.. But what blizz could do is merge a couple of rp servers, would atleast gather more rpers in one place.

I think you would see get some quality raiding and pvping (mainly due to bg ques being cross server) Perhaps not to the highest standard but I could be wrong there.

Arena teams, rated BGs and any sort of efficient raiding would still rely on people from the same server. Random people from the queues simply can't hope to reach the same level of teamwork, given equal skill. A lot of RP'ers are not satisfied with just RP and random BGs/pick-up raids, and rely on non-RP'ing friends to maintain enough interest in the game to keep playing.

A very good point. I for one don't have any problem with the quality of pvpers who are rpers some amazing pvpers out there and also to my knowledge raiders as well.

I've always said that Blizzard just has far too many RP servers. The RP population is spread too thin. In my opinion they should forcibly transfer all OOCers and people not at all interested in RP and merge the servers, creating one RP-PvP and one normal RP server.

Haha thank you for joining didn't think I was in a club O.o . But what are your views on this ladies and gents. What you be excitied about seeing or not so excited. Huge wars? etc ( I know I know lag) Military guilds would grow huge or have mutplie versions for differnt parts of say for example stormwinds military. Also Timna our wedding is next week (sagenod)

And on a more serious note, I chose this server for the very reason that it wasn't purely RP. I want the PVP as well, even if it means I get ganked sometimes.

But I understand the feeling that there are too many servers with population spread out. Merging a few might seem like a dream, but imagine the heavy lag that would ensue. There's a cap to server population for a reason, heck, I have some friend RP'ers whose computers already crash when they enter areas with a lot of players, such as Orgrimmar or Alterac Valley. If the population was any higher, they wouldn't be able to enter Silvermoon either most likely, or any other spontaneous RP hubs.

The lag could be a problem aye but.. A computer that can actually run a crowded place isnt too expensive anymore.

It would be a pvp server, well for me any way since I love pvp. Would have it a the pop cap like all servers but with the hope that each city would spread out the population so it wouldn't cause huge bits of lag for peopple. So that means all vendor types in all major cities.

huh well argent dawn is rp defias is rp-pvp so as there the most populated of the rp types its liklye the other rp/rp-pvp would be merged into those servers so yes I would agree if this happend XD

Ave: It might not seem very costly to you or me, but it might to someone else. And to be honest, my computer isn't a year old and even I get lag in Orgrimmar sometimes.

Flumi: I think most people would still want to RP in Stormwind and Silvermoon simply based on aesthetics.

But such technicalities aside, I also predict a LOT of fighting over RP bases. RP'ers everywhere on the streets sound nice, but they will all be wanting a place to call "home". Unless Blizz actually creates Guild Halls, that has potential to get really ugly.

Sorry for being "that guy", btw. If it was possible to get it to work, I would be all for it.

I'd so hope that all "shield" zones would be removed if it happend...

Otherwise I'd be all for just 1 server of each type.

talas did you get an office pc? an off the shelf pc a gaming pc or a home built pc?

office and off the slelf usualy lack ram and have budget G cards in them if at all not only that but of the shelf ones are usualy filled with poor quality components and lack decent thermal regulation..

Yes merge the Rp-pvp servers and then the normal rp servers togther.I feel the pvp ones are better cause well you can attack other ppl like how it should be XD.

You still can't stealth snipe people in Goldshire unless they give you permission >:

ATI Radeon HD 4670 Video Card, I'm not good at tech talk but I believe that should be more than enough. Like I said, it only lags -sometimes- for me, but even so.

This and what Talasseus wrote as well. I like the way things are now, having the freedom to swap from one aspect of the game to another according to one's mood. Utopia scenarios usually appear as very appealing at first, but there are always disadvantages after a bit of thought.

You seen it Mandui u are now my wife . All utopia's fail which is too bad but hey a dream is always nice . I do admit some times I just like to play the game and not focus on rp. :S

that is the entire unit? if so I would say that is definatly an office pc.. the graphics should be decent enough still probably ram failing you as that is a similer case with me now, thow i have never dealt with apple hardware when it comes to computers so i cannot be 100% certain

I'd frown if it'd happen. You see, every server has its own councils, celebrities, structure, and whatnot. All it would create is a shitload of drama.
