Or (supposedly) Zaithan, current 'end-boss' of the game - as in giant (repeating?) world event once your server reaches the end of Orr. Can't wait to the see the in-game model.

From what I know Zaithan won't be killed in a world event. But rather in the last (story wise) of the dungeons.
Since they don't want the fight to be a repeating story of killing a major lore creature.

Sup. I didn't even remember the game was launching (so much work) so then I went and bought it and downloaded while I was shopping for snacks (blessed be thee 100MB/sec internet)

Guess I now have to spend 16 hours somehow, haven't really even kept track of the game that much. What servers are people going and so?

Sounds like Piken Square (Unofficial RP server) and Desolation.

Piken Square will be more populated, oh and ring ring me if you want to join a revolution-guild stuff

Ah, I see. Not sure if I'll go for RP server straight off the bat.
Mainly because of playing with RL friends.

Yeah, really looking forward to diving in to the game proper very soon!

The servers might go up 3 hours earlier -- which is still an ungodly hour for us Euros -- so I'll be staying tuned to this forum as they're usually pretty quick in posting about these things if they do jump the gun.

Yeah, 5am for us in England. The way I'm looking at it, a dreadful hour to wake up but well worth getting the guild names + character names I want.

On ToR's most popular server, I had...
Joe (my real name) Boba, Han, Jabba, Dooku, Ewok and a couple of other pretty good ones. Being able to walk around as a Bounty Hunter called Boba was incredibly fun. I want a similar list for GW!

yes they do! the sylvari are pansexual, they probably have sex with trees and logs. all I know for sure is that I will be rping a sylvari who can grow appendages at will whenever she needs them

I am very much looking forward to RP a few months down the line. Luckily, I'll be joining it when everyone has already established a bit of a community. I know shit all about the lore, I didn't even play all the expansion packs of the first one. Shae, just saying about how a Sylvari can actually do that is pretty awesome. Also, I can imagine a tribe of Norn being pretty scary for a human RPer. Gon' be good!

actually Im not sure Sylvari can grow their own err ... appendages, but I dont see why not! they can grow their own clothes from their skin and ya it is awesome!

From what I know a sylvari can't just grow an extra branch.
But they are modeled after humans and centaurs, and CAN have sex. They just can't reproduce but they still feel intimate through sex. They don't have a gender in a conventional sense however. They don't see any difference in having boobs and a slit than having a penis. They just look different, they aren't different. Same as they don't have any sexual "same sex" taboos.
They also have only existed for 25 years. And only 12 (I believe) are that age. I think one might be dead of those first born as well.
So, they sorta lack takt. Nor do they see the taboo in messing with the dead (necromancy).

Just some very basic stuff.
As for "elves" the closest GW2 has to elves imo is the Asura. Most similarities.

Will most likely be making an Asura Guardian as main, and rolling a Charr Thief and a Sylvari elementalist/mesmer. My old main pree last beta event has been degraded to third alt. xD

Not everyone pre-purchased, many pre-ordered and thus won't get access 'till 28th, so it's split up.
