THE CITY OF THE SNAKES:
The Malash is an ancient artifact. It is supposed to have astonishing life giving properties and it is part of a huge titanic machine with incredible powers.
Flemk together with the Fraternity discovered that it was located in the Hinterlands, in what it was supposed to be a temple build by the titans. But of such temple no existence was found, but some suggested that maybe this temple was what now is the city of Jintha'alor.
After gathering some informations about the place, it was discovered that this city could have been a valuable candidate for what they were looking for. Informations about the local trolls using ancient artifacts were found and this was more then enough for Flemk to believe it to be the right place.
The city also seemed to be abandoned, previous explorers reported about a fast decay of the troll empire, followed soon after they started to master some shapeshifting abilities and after some majior rebellions between the factions of the Vilebranch tribes.
The Fraternity then prepared itself for the expedition and ventured inside the bastion looking for the staff.
Exploring the city, they found that it was not completely abandoned. Few traps were set on place and few relics where still stored on their altars, sign that the city was still somehow visited by something. They were also attacked by a shadow hunter.
But the more important informations they gained from the city came from the inscriptions and the relics found:
The inscriptions spoke about the troll claiming the city under the guide of a witchdoctor, fighting some strange mechanical being. As for the troll it is unlikely to master such technology, Flemk started to believe that in the past the tribe may have invaded that titanic temple claiming it as home.
The found inscriptions representing trolls using a staff to perform powerful rituals of resurrection, but the most important discovery was that the trolls were worshipping one of the most powerful among the loas: Dambala the Loa of serpents and treachery.
From the inscriptions, they discovered the troll had seal a pact with this Loa giving him something in exchange of some amazing shapeshifting properties, but it was not all, as between the Loa and the troll was found the existence of some kind of deform creature.
While exploring the city, different inscriptions were also found. Written in blood on the walls, they discovered signs of a rebellion that occurred in the past among the trolls.
This inscriptions stated that the rebels tried to free the tribe from the might of the Loa,  that they ended the the pact between the god and the tribe and sealed the staff and some kind of creature into a tomb performing a powerful ritual.
Climbing the city the Fraternity reached the main altar, where this tomb should have been located. There they found signs of this ritual under the form of four elemental runes (water, earth, air, fire) and a blood one.
Approaching the tomb they felt a presence calling, there Charles Dupuis succeed to enter in contact with the realm of the spirits and to communicate with Dambala.
The loa offered him a vision, showing him to be held back by the runes. He stated he wanted to leave the realm of spirits as he had no power there and that there he was under the strong influence of the other Loas. He stated that if he could have entered the physical realm, he would have given to Charles power beyond his imagination and that once there, he would have united the troll tribes under one single powerful and unstoppable empire.
With all these informations in their hands the Fraternity decided that for now is not yet the case to open the tomb and claim the staff. They decided to head back home and reflect on the events and studying the ritual so that they could have been prepared in the moment of the opening, in the case something could happen.
They considered that into the tomb could have been buried an host, probably built for Dambala to enter this world, and soon after, with the knowledge of the ritual in hands they returned into the city and opened the tomb...
Inside they found the rests of a dead deform reptile and the staff, but what was left of that creature was of no arm for anyone anymore. Time consumed its flesh and its majesty and abilities were not lost in the time.
But something else was found in there, once they opened the tomb, they realized that a rift for the realm of the spirits was located there. They discovered this rift to be a natural occurrence and they speculated that it was through that rift that Dambala was able to influence the tribe. Charles again used the rift to scan the realm beyond it, and it found out that Dambala was tricking him too, as on the other side he was one of the most powerful being.
They had no power to close that rift, and in the end they left, leaving the city and the rift to their own destiny. On the other side of it, mighty beings have the chance to influence this world, as Dambala could have worked on the Vilebranch ruin just for his own amusement.
