Vice Admiral's Log, 2nd September:

To put it mildly, our assigned mission was a failure, on a catastrophic level. The entire fleet met its demise, along with my best men, good men. Our attempt to rendezvous with Greywatch has become an impossibility - the only locals I am aware of are murlocs, and they have done nothing but take our supplies... including our signal flares.

Besides myself, only five others survived the incident, all of them travelers from the east who wished to take the fight to the Legion. They are indeed curious folk, though their allegedly heroic deeds gave me cause to allow them to travel with the fleet. Only time will tell if my trust in them was misplaced... if the inexplicable destruction of all three of our ships was somehow their doing. Either way, I will see - they do have cause to help, after all.

There is little more that I can note, I am still recovering from the trauma of the ordeal, and it is difficult to put my thoughts onto paper. For now, this will have to do.

Manaspark's War is an RP campaign set to run throughout the entire expansion of Legion, and perhaps beyond. It will focus on the adventures of Edwin's travelling party, and their fight against the many evils of the world (and not just the hat-makers in Duncan's Textiles). As the title states, anyone is welcome to join at any point, and leave whenever they want.

This is a direct continuation of my previous campaign, which led the group through Northrend to deal with fel cults. Despite this, we still welcome newcomers at any time.

The only thing I ask for before an individual joins is justification of why they are ICly there, though that would mostly be self-explanatory. You are not at all required to join my guild to participate, and none of my events are exclusive to guild members.

The events are largely focused on character development and interaction with NPCs, with combat being somewhat less prominent - but always meaningful. When it does come to fighting, I tend to use an incredibly simple system: you emote, I emote the NPC's reaction. From experience, I have found that not concerning yourself with rolls tends to make a more immersive and seamless experience. (This doesn't mean that I will be force-killing players, and injury will only be as severe as you want it to be.)

Beyond placement of important characters, little is planned in advance with my events; I prefer to leave important decisions to the players whenever possible, in attempt to avoid a railroaded experience. As such, the actions of the players will have a significant effect on the outcome of the entire plot.

There are usually two to three events a week, though these are often cancelled if less than two others show up. Missing an event is not a problem, as long as you can provide an IC justification for your absence.

Edwin Manaspark wrote: The dwarf was awake... it had taken long enough. Yet, it appeared he was not the only arrival - the appearance of Maelmoor Lightbringer was unexpected, as were the two hooded elves that followed shortly after.

Keller was still complaining that the whole ordeal was his fault alone, no matter how many times we tried to reassure him otherwise; it seems he would simply refuse to listen to reason. That was not of much importance, though, as I was more curious as to why a Minister of Stormwind was wandering around in these wretched marshlands.

The old paladin asked me to follow, and I begrudgingly complied - I half expected to be met with another arrest, though the news was surprisingly less unfortunate: Stormwind had finally seen reason and pardoned my supposed crimes.

There was, however, little time to rest, and one of the mysterious elven women knew the way to a nearby settlement. We followed, careful not to anger the local murloc populations. It was not long before we met another familiar face: Bareans Silversmith, another who had agreed to aid my cause.

Once we reached the nearby (if rudimentary) settlement, we were greeted with a particularly unreasonable gryphon master and his high prices - though, I suppose there is a lot of money to be made in times of war and strife.

We eventually agreed on a price, after quickly growing tired of arguing; the gryphons were indeed reliable, and took us directly to the lodging of the legendary Hemet Nesingwary.

Here, the dwarf among us immediately went to greet the famous hunter, asking for replacement bullets and gunpowder. Nesingwary agreed, with our dwarven friend deciding he wanted to slay one of the local dragons.

We travelled onwards to the strange totem-city of the tauren, greeted with hospitality. Here, we rested for now.

The first event in the campaign was a success, thanks to everyone who turned up!

My next event will be running this Friday (16th September) at 8:00PM, continuing on from the last. Anyone is welcome to join, even if you missed the last event, or even the start of the upcoming one.

If you plan on attending the event, please do contact me in-game (DragonReborn#2922) or on the forums here. If you provide me with the name of the character you plan on attending with, I will invite you to all future events.

Edwin Manaspark wrote: Few had arrived to travel on to Stormheim, none but Charlie and one of the hooded elves - the others were probably gathering pelts for Nesingwary, or something else inconsequential. There is a war to fight, a universe-spanning army seeks to eradicate reality itself... and they concern themselves with something so petty.

There was little to speak of on the road to Greywatch, as Charlie's new maps made navigation considerably easier; though, what we did find was of great significance. A troll and a vrykul drinking away their sorrows at a makeshift camp, both in self-exile from their places of origin.

The troll's news was particularly strange - he had abandoned the Horde after their Warchief had supposedly ordered his captain to burn all Alliance ships in sight. The first ships were supposedly those belonging to the Valgarde Fleet, the fleet which I had arrived with.

While I have no desire to prolong senseless conflict, I will not allow the deaths of innocent men to go unavenged. There may well be more to the situation, so research will naturally have to be done before such an action is taken.

Additionally, it was welcome to see familiar faces and old friends at Greywatch, none of which had any intentions of killing me on sight. It seems that the paladin was right about my pardoning. Here, our travels ended.

The third event in the campaign will be taking place on the 23rd of September at 8:00PM. It will be starting at Greywatch, and anyone is welcome to attend. I apologise for giving such short notice about moving last week's event from Friday to Sunday, though I hope this was not too much of an inconvenience.

On another note, I wanted to see if there was any interest in using the fate of the Valgarde Fleet as a potential justification for an RP-PvP campaign/event? I'm not familiar with running such things, but I know that many others are more capable at organising them than myself. If anyone's interested in running something like that, do give me a whisper in-game.
