NPC talking addon?
A couple of times recently I've had random interactions with NPCs in the bars of Stormwind. I think on both occasions it was Tess who was making the NPC talk to me. Very cool addition to the RP experience.
Can anyone tell me which addon I need to be able to do this myself?
TIA

TRP2 I know for one is able to do that. I don't think that module made it way to TRP3.

I can confirm, that TRP2 can provide such function, yes. I myself did it a couple of times. But, currently, maybe because of RPers around or maybe because I don't want to break the law (beware Forced Influence ;P ), if my characters approach an NPC I only use emotes, like /talk, /nod, /thank.

Hmmm, I have TRP3 but would love to be able to do this as well.
There is something cool when you can go up to a barman and ask for an ale and he responds to you - especially when it is another player "running" the NPC.
Any city rule which stops players doing this is clearly daft.

Just to clarify. The rule does not work like that.
2.3 Forced influence
Influencing the thoughts or actions of another by means of magic, enchanted items or any other, be it with intent to cause harm or not.
Punishment: a day in jail or 5 lashes, in addition to punishments required for any possible forced crime.
Mechanically taking control over or inventing/using a (new or existing) NPC is something else entirely and is encouraged (At least by me. Just realize others may use the same NPC and think your actions through.) to further RP.
Regardless, it has been rewritten and will be brought up to the council later on. I'd suggest thoroughly reading through the laws found [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] before calling anything daft , despite any possible coming changes (depending on council votes and rulings).

This, looks insanely good, the dialogue feature especially. Wasn't aware they had a kickstarter running. Much excite.

Yeah, sorry - my comment was very much tongue-in-cheek. I know that the above mentioned city laws have nothing to do with "making" NPCs talk through addons. Obviously my winky smiley was not winky enough.

That should do the trick with TRP3.
%T will be replaced with the name of your current target, in case you didn't know.
Alternatively, you can just write the name if the NPC doesn't actually exist.
