The return home?
Hello there, follow Defias RPers ..
*sighes* I miss the old times, 1,5 years ago when Defias was awake. RP was easy to find and it feelt ALIVE.
now is it a shadow of what it once were (in comparison at least)
I can admit, I tried Argent dawn, and had some fun there... but I have finally melted it down to what is wrong with that place (in general).
There is a lack of connection. on Defias diffrent guilds often knew about others, players integrated with people from outside of the guild alot. It was a very social and open experience (that is what I experienced it as anyway) thanks to the council meetings and this wonderful forum.
AD on the other hand is a clusterfuck. Stormwind is a mass of quite boring RP with most people hanging around in cathedral square 24/7 doing jackshit. (once again, MY experiences)
Does anyone know if DB will ever manage to rebuild? I miss it all so incredibly much. Is there any larger RP guilds that I just have missed?

I think RP is rather easy to find even today, there are new guilds coming around and I've seen a lot of new RP:ers coming up. Even guild apps seem to have many new RP:ers. So to answer your question from my pov, DB was never broken.
There are plenty of active RP guilds, take a look at the forums and you get the idea. Also... If you are not happy with the current state of something then change it! Be active and you will eventually find rp or the rp finds you =)

I guess... any good places or guilds for that then?
(please also say if it is horde and alliance, thank you)

Re: The return home?
Hello, Tnecniw. It's been a while.
To start with, I agree with Nare. There are plenty of new roleplayers around. In the past, I believe the guilds made the mistake for not being open enough with their recruitment. We do not have overwhelming amounts of roleplayers as AD does, but we -have- and continue to have a steady stream of people interested of Roleplaying. Things have been extremely well since the RP-PvP servers got connected into one, from a recruitment standpoint. One just needs to be active with their macro advertisement in Trade and General. Sure, that requires some initiative and the bother to deal with new Roleplayers. If one does not bother though, that's shooting yourself in the leg. How else does the community grow if everyone would be such stuck up elitists with their thumb deep in their arse who snub on every starting roleplayer?
So yes. We may not match the numbers, but I still firmly believe there is potential to anyone who goes and is persistent with their recruitment.

Anyhow, to get to the actual question:
Horde: Roleplaying focused around Undercity and Silvermoon. Some groups travel outside now and then, but that's where the hubs are.
Horde Guilds: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
All of the guilds on the RP Guild List are up to date and active.
Alliance: Roleplaying focused around Stormwind and Ironforge, plus some groups moving outside now and then, but that's where the hubs are.
Alliance Guilds: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
All of the guilds on RP Guild List are up to date and active.
All of the guilds do roleplay actively. Some are just larger than others.
On the Horde side, things are not going to well currently. Numbers have dwindled on them more than on Alliance lately. However, the largest ones among them I know are Phoenixstride House (Belves), Vile Thorn (Rogue-only Stealth RP-PvP guild), Venomspine Pariahs (Belf and Forsaken RP-PvP guild). Medium to small size are Shatterskull Marauders (Shattering skulls and marauding around mercenary style), The Crimson Sun (not to sure, but it's about Belves among things), Fil lavandras Angrale (More Belves, not sure how active), Second Gurubashi Empire (The trolls are struggling, but still definitely around). And lastly, probably my favorite: Furious Fishmongers (A group of.... Furious Fishermen selling seafood and doing other crazy stuff. Mudija is a boss.)
Best ones on that side I'd recommend are Venomspine Pariahs, Vile Thorn, Phoenixstride House and Furious Fishmongers.

As for finding roleplaying, I recommend making use of /who list and /whisper to know where RP Guilds are and join them in RP. I strongly recommend you joining a guild, for it helps you to stay on track of Events, Plots and stuff easier. /join LFRP and "Where is the RP at" at regular intervals is also advised.
Again, Alliance RP is going better than Horde RP at moment, but then again that balance shifts as frequently as the balance of numbers within RP guilds. Pick the race that you want to play, pick the class you want to play, and I am sure there will be an active guild for those.
....You had... any questions I forgot to cover, or any more you want to ask?
Unlike the belief of those who migrated to AD, Defias Brotherhood never "died". Sure, we have lost numbers and things are not what they were 1.5 or 4 years ago. Have that prevented for the ~50 roleplayers who remain here to enjoy the game and the roleplaying? Not at all.Tnecniw wrote:Does anyone know if DB will ever manage to rebuild?

Probably. On the Alliance, largest guilds are Wardens of Azeroth (Defenders of the innocent) and House of Yore (A House seeking to spread their influence in all areas from politics to trade to warfare). Medium-large size guilds are Delerium (Smugglers and Traders by background, active in PvP), Clans of Khaz Modan (Dwarf Only), Theatre of Blood (Alliance assassins order (with "specialists" from other classes), Disciples of Light (Defenders of Azeroth, in a more religious (and fanatical) sense). Lastly, among smaller guilds are The Ninth Company (Stormwind military and guards), Holy Lightbringers (followers of Uther the Lightbringer teachings) and The Azure Flame (A guild of Outlawed Mages, Warlocks, Necromancer).Tnecniw wrote:Is there any larger RP guilds that I just have missed?

I... actually have no other questions. :O. I haven't been around for a while but whenever I enter stormwind (which used to be quite actrive) it is as empty as the heart of Matt ward. (Warhammer 40K fans will know what I mean) I guess I didn't really realise where people where. Well... thanks

Re: The return home?
Roleplaying is focused around evenings. Keep that in mind. Do /join LFRP and poke around to see if there is any around earlier. The Slaughtered Lamb has been a RP Hotspot of late, due to the rise of House of Yore (who make their home there).
