Children's week charity auction
Time rolls round for another slice of Nelf hosted community bridge building (propaganda) in the Alliance capital. Children's week giving us the perfect opportunity to hold a charity auction to raise gold for the city orphanage. A few posters are going up over the City to advertise this event "Be an Oathmaker and raise money for the Orphanage!.. what can -you- do?"
Last time we raised a fair chunk of money for the Hawke medical clinic, and it'd be great to top the quality of oaths and atmosphere this time around, aiming for 8pm Tues 29th April, so a fortnight-ish from now... (If this clashes horribly with something, shout and we can makes arrangements)
The event works like a normal auction house IRL. Except the asset being sold is not a thing but a skill or service. An 'oath' for example:
Oathmaker#1: "I am offering my services as a master songsmith, creating your own personal epic ballad, which I will proceed to sing all week in the most adoring style at every venue of repute and den of iniquity I happen upon. Your virtue, beauty, skill or infamy will be the talk of the town!"
Oathmakers can be individuals, or groups, or even entire guilds... whatever!
Those interested would step forward clearly from the crowd and proceed to attempt to outbid each other until the last successful bidder remains victorious. Realistic bids please, most bids will start at a few silver to get the ball rolling.
If there is enough interest on here, then there will only be 10 oaths on the night, to keep it a focused event.
Last time it was a free for all, but it would be great to advertise a few of the oaths on here. So six oaths will be allocated for the best and most outrageously ingenious advertised on here, and the rest will be wildcard entries on the night.
Any questions, just shout! Fingers crossed it'd be a bit of random fun

Re: Children's week charity auction
Ooooh, I hope I am around this time, would love to be there.
If I can make it I'd be coming as my "mage" (oocly warlock) and if there's room for oaths, he'd likely offer his abilities as a diviner to tell someone's future as often as they wish for a month or so, answering questions from his tarot deck etc (I'm not saying it works, he's a bit crazy!). Otherwise I will try to make it just to bid!

Bumping for more oathmakers, I have a couple of potentials so far, and I'd certainly welcome a few more

This was fun last year, so I will make sure myself and the AiA are in attendance to offer our services and raise some gold for the children of the Alliance!

Re: Children's week charity auction
well, council's still at 21.00 as far as I know so it might clash a bit if you intend for the event to last more than an hour.. I'll be there anyway!

Representatives of the Lamb will most likely be present, 'cause they're really nice people who just love donating things to poor children.

If you had a choice between that boring half an hour council, and a nice charity auction for the poor, unfortunate children of Stormwind, what would you choose Bradley? I know what I will be choosing...

Re: Children's week charity auction
Hopefully the clash won't be too bad. I was hoping to have attended a council meeting to flag it up in advance but RL has been a bit hectic
This should be starting at 8 bells tomorrow evening in the park area right outside the Slaughtered Lamb. Everyone is of course welcome!

Re: Children's week charity auction
Thank you all for attending, it was great success yet again. Pics later.
All in all we managed to rise 116g and 70s for alliance orphans. One bidder paid "accidently" less and the coins were in danger, thanks to robbery attempt on our way to bank(much thanks for the rp, was great), but orphan matron go her nice deposit.
There were some great oaths. Alchemical potion of choise, that was asked first for 2g and eventually got it, after price reduction to start the bidding, do-it-yourself-medical garden kit, fortunes told for a week, crash course to mental martial arts, blacksmithing of any item(we may hear from this ), fashion consulting ect. The two highlights seemed to be bids for personal actress that got whopping 50g as first and last bid AND the famous GOLDEN SOCk with authentication sertificate, that made a bidding war.

Re: Children's week charity auction
What Enderas is going to make Ithili act out for 50g though, the mind boggles! (I am curious)
Thank you to all who turned up and took part in our slightly chaotic but hopefully entertaining auction. Thank you too to the dastardly Cartel for trying to nick some of the cash afterwards. (how could you? think of the kids! )
I've enjoyed making use of my personal fortune teller already (eerily spot on and a bargain for six gold) And have already completed my oath for a private lesson in the shadowy mental arts. Good luck with that Lannael!
And yep, the show stealer was the gnome Bibblefuzz with his mighty golden sock of destiny. (Just the one, not even a pair) <3

Re: Children's week charity auction
You are curious? Imagine me I am almost afraid to think!*sweat* That 50g is weighting heavy on my mind and Enderas went in for the kill streight up, sliencing everyone else. He really wanted Ithi's oath. Anyways, when he puts his foot down, I will let you know
Also very curious thing is what comes from Enderas blacksmithing. The winner wants huge canons and canonballs. Remember the pickpocket we ran into streets? And the worgen and the human guy? Guess we found all cozy together, hmm? Cartel <3 I see disastor fall upon Stormwind Nothing better then rp to create more rp
