Silvermoon City Council

Welcome to the Silvermoon City Council. Over the last few months, plans have been made to group together a nice bunch of individuals to speak as one for the city. The plan was to work together to make Silvermoon more popular and viewed in better eyes by the community. The council is still a work in progress with IC stories causing members to be changed due to IC differences. This is now the start, so the only way is up.

Brief Rules
-The meeting will be chaired by a different councillor each week to make the running fair and to stop everyone speaking at once.

-Respect must be shown to each member, no matter differences. (strict one warning then out rule)

-Turn up on time (no one likes to be waiting to start because you cant keep time)

-The open door policy is now closed. Only council members will attend meetings, others can wait nearby and listen in if they so wish.

-Meeting's location and Chair will be announced the week before to give proper planning time to the individual for the following week.

-You hold no authority while in council, all are equal no matter rank or title. (except probably the magisters who hold slight sway due to lore)

-Council change as Blood Knight's go through leadership transition.

-Blood Knight actions discussed in council for the city to hear their word on recent activities
-Start of event planning regarding a "Quel'thalas Week" (information to be released soon)
-Blood Knights take up tracking Silvermoon Bomber

- All news on Silvermoon City Bomber from Blood Knight's and contracted investigators.
- A heretic walks amongst us, the discussing of the heretic Diederich and his presence in the city and current crime
- Each individuals rough plan for each event for "Quel'thalas Week" to be announced, and then to be evaluated and improved.
- New locations for meeting and next week's chair.



More information is to come soon, involving minutes from each session so that all can see what we are up to.
Also if the idea is to be a success in future I will opt to open up an Application page so that we can possibly swap or introduce members in the council.

This is just a start and I will jazz it up in future.

Outcomes and action points - the Silvermoon Festival - arising from the Council meeting on 17 February 2014


At previous meetings ideas were considered to create events, happenings, and scenarios in and around Sin dorei lands to enliven RP oriented life for regulars and casual visitors - with the overall objective of re-establishing the profile of the beautiful city and lands as a place people would wish to visit.

The concept of a 2 or 3 day festival with different combinations and events on each day was agreed in principle.

Dates and publicity would be considered at the point where the council feels that it has a workable and viable activity plan.

A working party has been set up with councillors and others leading on key themes and activities.

Many interesting and novel ideas were discussed. The organisers will now go and plan and present ideas at the next council meeting.

On the last meeting the venue was wholesome in the High Room at Fairbreeze. Apologies were received from Adept Tarthrek and from Feltrand. Dareil was not in attendance but Dalanor of Vengeful was. In addition present were Lady Luinias and the Quartermaster of the Order of Bloodknights, Darilas of the Farstriders, Thawon Phoenixstrider and his assistant, and Meranda.

With 3 of the festival organisors not present discussion was confined to

1. The Fashion Show - by Darilas - likely location Bazaar area - Models are being selected and sought far and wide - costumes are being made and bought - theme is Noble Garden to match the season - Elfe Magazine will be present - project on target
2. The Eversong Hunt - by Thawon - Rules to be published in due course. Outline 3 Sindorei hidden in the forest. Competitors are set of to track and find the "prey". Prizes include Silver arrow and more - details to follow.
3. Craft fair and market - to be over two days - from 2000hours to 2130 hours each day. Opportunity for traders and crafters to sell their wares to the visitors. Meranda will contact (amongst others) Flying Bolts and Fishmongers - advert will follow.

The Talent show, Race, archery, Tour plan, opening and closing ceremonies and security will be discussed next meeting.

Other matters

The Bloodknights are to fulfil part of their mission by carrying out activities in the areas south of the Thalassian pass soon - the council will receive such details as may be reveal in writing separately. The normal City guard are considered to be competent cover in their absence. The Councillors present wished the Order Success and a safe return.

The terrorist goblin - has been sighted and a watch is being kept - the Order will move when ready - ongoing action.

The leader of the Mission at Falconwatch will receive a pastoral visit from a counsellor to help him through a personal difficulty - to ensure that the Watch remains effective and not distracted by certain events and liaisons.

Details of social events, engagements, and news from near and far will be shared for the benefit of all.

The next meeting will be hosted at Farstrider Lodge - to continue the progress and presence of the Council throughout Sin dorei lands. Non-councillors may attend the after meeting drinks.

Hey, good little update to the meetings. Sorry I was absent had some RL issues to deal with over the last few days. Glad to see you keeping it up to date.

-Blood Knights Continue to investigate bombing no change

-Blood Knights report growing scourge numbers to the south of Silvermoon. Have sent reinforcement to the argent crusade. More information on cause and operation next week

-Plans for Festivities; each plan to be written out and given at next meeting (also posted on here)

Fashion show plans so far: the location is determined to be the Bazaar area. A theme is set (nobles garden) and models are currently auditioning.

Craft Fayre and markets

It is hoped that these will run on each day(evening) of the festival once the dates are confirmed. The theme will allow visiotrs to mingle trade and haggle (2 hour slots) and provide concurrent/gap filling for the other events.

Location - primarily the Bazaar area - and the existing stands around it as well as the AH. Of course some craftsmen will lead Clients to other areas if the trade goes that way - e.g Smiths may take clients away to forges in the city.

Key individuals/guilds with a trading theme will be invited - and the advert will invite all others who may wish to sell or buy. Hopefully with traders offering deals and calling to attract the attention of punters it could be quite a bustle.

Being near to the Inn allows refreshment out of the sun/weather.

The opening ceremony could immediately preceed the first days trading - TBC

If some maybe Knights could keep eyes out for trouyble/thieves that would be nice - otherwise I am happy to host for the trades.

Hasn't it already been stated that the Order will be in charge of the security?

I'm going to have to withdraw since I'm quitting the game.

Information about the Eversong Hunt

Description of the event:
The combatants will start at the entrance of Silvermoon City and search the Eversong woods for three hidden unnamed Blood Elves. The first combatant to approach one of the hidden elves will recieve the prize of 5000 gold pieces. The hunt will continue for one hour or until all three elves has been found and their treasures claimed.

Prizes:
-3 x 5000 gold
-Ceremonial arrow

Rules:
- The combatants must register to Thawon before the start of the event. More details will come when the registration opens. Only registered combatants will be able to claim the prize from the hidden elves.

- A combatant can claim more than one prize.

Race
Description;
A run through the woods to the city to show off the land of Quel'thalas. Competitors will run to a series of checkpoints marked by players (marshalls) A prize yet to be decided will be awarded to the top three competitors.

Prize
- a surprise
- two runner up surprise to be announced.


Rules
A group of marshalls shall keep a watch of the race to make sure that people dont cheat and go to each checkpoint of the race. I will then keep times of the competitors for future events to see improvements.

Information about the archery tournament.

Prize:
1st place 5000g
2nd place 2000g
3rd place 1000g

The tournament will be held at the training area in Farstrider's Square. It is open to anyone who can pull a bow.

All entrants must register before the start of the competition.

Rules.

Each entrant will pull three arrows and fire them at a designated target, in turn.
The competition will be held on a points scores basis. Each area of the target will score points. The highest points at the end of the competition will be the winner.

OOC: this is a roll event and will require all who take part to be in a raid group - rolling rules are as follows:
rolling 1-10 - complete miss - 0 points
11-20 - white - 1 point.
21-50 - black - 2 points
51-70 - blue - 3 points.
71-90 - red - 4 points.
91-99 - gold - 5 points.
100 - dead centre - 10 points.

Hmmm Archery sounds like something my tauren could take part in. What day is it, if there is one set yet? (Since I will be away for some of Noblegarden).

Not sure yet. one of the days of the festival, but unsure as to exactly which day as the schedule hasn't been sorted.

As directed, Dare went to visit General Bloodmark in the Red Blade's current base. He explained that the proposed Gathering and the Festival fall at the same time and asked that the Gathering be held in Silvermoon. Bloodmark asked that the council seek the approval of the Flying Bolts, the Dawnchasers and the Shatterskulls. Dareil met with Baralh of the Dawnchasers and Moneyfix of the Bolts and they agreed. Dare will contact Himo, and then Bloodmark again this week.

From Council opinions I discern that Quelthalas would be happy to host the gathering and entertain allcomers with events and trade opportunities. If we have Shatterskull buy-in - we have ourselves a Festival and a gathering. Thank you Dare.

Tarthek visited Himo and Himo agreed as well. Looks like it's a go.

Good News - so with Silvermoon hosting the Horde Gathering on 27th April at 8.30pm - we work back from there. This is a suggested layout to help us decide = who is where what happens - that kinda thing.

None - only Dareil and Thawon, as well as Celistra, arrived, so we postponed until next week.

  I am sorry I got in soo late. also many are tied up in Northern Pines events so that would not help. The campaign is due to finish by Sunday - so we should be good for next monday 24th March (please can we move to say 2015 server - i get in at 2000 from work so I am almost always late).

We still have time for Festival planning - so comments on the proposed discussion timings would help us sort things next week? As we are also hosting the Horde gathering we need to ensure we get it pitcjhed just right I guess.

Three days of markets? = / i'd put money on nobody showing for the second two.

Hahaha - indeed (how much?)

If it were just three days of markets I would consider that excessive and dull. (/selfharm) Luckily that is just a recurring slot - a stocking-filler if you like - to allow those who want to do a little bit of trade etc. Also some people might only come on one day due to RL and it would be a shame for them not to have choices.

So the market/fayre slots can be relatively short or run contemporaneously. Each day there is at least one other main event - for visitors to enjoy - plus organised tours - and probably one of the best staffed bars in azeroth. There will also be unscripted happenings/events that to publish here would spoil the surprise.

And do not forget - the visitors bring their own inventiveness and plot lines - the Festival is merely the backdrop to the dramatis personae. You get out what you put in.
