Get rid of the Vouch process.

It wasn't hard to do. But some people are morons, and can't understand the simplest procedures. I've had to handhold quite a few that seemingly didn't know how to read.

it's not just because pepole are stupid or whatever, many new players simply feels unwelcome when no one is there to vouch them, since they just started to get in touch with the community.

Even if you were new you could have always just asked in LFRP or something, but who knows maybe without the need for vouches people will rather aproach the site. Or not, who knows!

The process of an admin/mod placing you into the members group no longer exists. People that make accounts will have the account automatically subscribe to the members group once they've hit the activation link in the email that is sent.

I'll work on the top section as well and change it up a little. I'm thinking an introduction board of sorts. Not mandatory, just so new users/anyone that wants to, can set up a thread introducing themselves etc.

I will stress now, however, that multiple accounts will still need to be discussed and verified by us. That's an entirely separate matter to registering.

I've tested the process with a dummy account, all working fine.

This is beginning to look like the start of something new and fresh.

While I agree that the vouch system wasn't exactly difficult, was it necessary? Was the extra-hoop necessary?

Times have changed and so must we. The information section of the forum is nice, I like it.

As for non-RPer's posting here..perhaps that's not such a bad thing. Expanding the community is a good thing. Excluding other groups of the realm only further deteriorates the population of people roleplaying on the realm and creates a wedge that serves no real purpose between RPer's and others.

I say we with open arms welcome people who are willing to abide by the same rules, whether they roleplay or not, in the hope that they can contribute an opinion and perhaps eventually find themselves interested in an event or two as well.

With above posted and said, would you be willing to post a short summary of what DefiasRP is alongside a link to the rules on our realm forums? If there's no gold advertisement on this forum itself, you can report your own post under the category of 'Other' and ask for a sticky.

I hope you're joking. Getting a proxy or simply having a dynamic IP will easily just jump that. Fuck, there's even websites that just fakes your IP because it surfs the web for you.

my only problem with the vouch system, really was that it was called a vouch system. which was confusing, as it implies a state of quality, and not a verification of identity as it was supposed to be.

but i'm all for opening it up, since I assume the forum registration system has enough bot protection going on to block spam networks.

It's already in the main sticky thread, though.

I realize that Drustai but can we be completely honest and say that it's not as easy to notice as a thread going: "ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY OF DB, HERE"?

Visibility makes a difference too. The realm forum is dead, people only stir when asked too or pushed too - If the thread existed then DefiasRP would probably gain more attention, for better or for worse.
