It's actually worse than that, after seeing the place burn you are sent to Varian to report who sends you back with bunch of his soldiers who actually have trouble defeating the defias there

Anyways can't wait to see what kind of fight Vanessa will be in Deadmines heroic.

Actually...my bet is that we'll fight Vanessa in regular deadmines while heroic deadmines will be the classic version with Edwin.

During the quest line in Westfall you are actually sent to Deadmines, non instanced and you find the place completely empty. as all the defias are dead there / abandoned it long ago and then get the flash back on Vanessa / Edwin dying

It is only after coming out of there that Vanessa gathers and rallies the Defias again and destroyes Sentinel Hill, apparently the quest line ends there, and atleast currently there is no deadmines instance on alpha servers.

I know he's dead, but I'm thinking/hoping it'll be like Onyxia at level 80. I mean, it'd somewhat defeat the purpose of saying in the teaser that we'll get a heroic deadmines if the only remaining thing from the original is the scenery.

The whole expansion turns whole entire freakin' world into a new shiny piece (Of what - we are yet to witness).

The only thing left from the way we remember it 5 years ago is the scenery.
