Well on that note I do prefer my RL before WoW. But when it comes to servers.. Private ones can never really keep up as good as proper ones.

This is prologue. A private server run by a very talented team, I took part in their previous work 'Epilogue'. However yes, Private servers get dull, swiftly. And buggy.

Drop that Prologue thing already Gunnell, Exilius and Nygarth. :'<

To be honest, I was one of the biggest skeptics and haters until I tried it for myself and was pleasantly impressed. It's 'alright' it's not amazing, and I'll go back to retail after a bit but y'know.

I was sceptical myself, never before had any experience with Privates myself'

But I'm amazed of what I've seen, <_< So much more potential and better Roleplay that Retail can offer, not to mention under my five years, I've never seen RP of this quality. It even has an Arathor without tunnels' and proper RP gear (n_n) Squeeeeee!

A good alternative' fer sure.

Aye' all in all It'll be a good alternative until Cata' hits.

I'm curious though how much it' will develop until then though, atm it's just 'beta' Base'building and resource is still under development, etc, etc.

I'ven ever had any previous experience with Private servers, but what's the problem with it?
It takes 10 seconds to download the addon for it' It' has no subscription, It's easy to register, hundreds of Roleplayers are online ( More than the Defias community XD )

It's still under beta so bugs and glitches exist, but thankfully there's a dedicated group of GM's which help you out.

You can run both at the same time, It's a great alternative.

Bar the fact that Blizzard's Warden kinda would like to punch your WoW in the face the moment it figures out, if I'm not mistaken.

Unlikely, as I installed both separately, I've also paid for Blizzy's merchandise which is required to have in order to paly Prologue.

Yeah, but that little contract you accept after every patch surely has a clause forbidding just this, so it doesn't really matter if you paid for Blizzard's merchandise, fact is that you'd be breaching the contract if it is in there.

Blizzard used the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to influence many private servers to fully shut down and cease to exist.[27] Private or free servers sometimes charge a fee for providing players with in game items such as Epic sets of armor, weapons and gold. Now I don't know if this statutes legal precedent against people using them (instead of operating them) but I'd be careful if I were you.

From what I know, that is only valid of the Private Server earns any potential income. It's likely the operator. Personally, I'm still a paying and longtime loyal costumer to Blizzard without any previous records.

The people that made this Anti, created Epilogue a previous similar concept. I trust that the admins and operators all well informed, as the quality and overall dedicated which I have seen, implies this.

I don't see that affecting me, since I'm still a costumer, and I do not use any nasty haxxorz' I just play in a small RP community alternatively.

Blizzard don't ban actual accounts for playing on private servers, nor have they done so in the past - They only shut the servers themselves down (And probably lawsuit any owners who made money off them). Also, be aware you're playing on a SEPERATE account anyway.
