[A Event] The Winterspring Expedition (01-05-10)
"Thousands of years ago, this valley upon the slopes of Mount Hyjal served as a place for the night elves to start anew in the wake of the Great Sundering. A realm of near-perpetual winter.
Winterspring is above Moonglade and is the last stop along the road that winds up to Hyjal Peak. The valley is separated from Moonglade, lower on the mountain slope, by a thick, white cloud bank. Winterspring is a cold realm consistently covered with snow and frost. Once above the clouds, the air is crisp and clean and the sun shines often when the snow is not falling. The trees of Winterspring were bent and twisted into odd positions during the climactic Battle of Mount Hyjal. Many of the World Tree's massive roots are also exposed here, towering overhead like massive oak archways. This otherwise cold and serene place shakes with periodic conflict between the forces of the sorcerer-dragon Cobaltann and the night elves who strive to drive them from the slopes of Mount Hyjal. Snow cats, bears, and other creatures of the wild are seen here on occasion, but only rarely due to the high altitude. It is a place of cold medium forest and rugged mountains, what more wonders does this place hold..."
Now the Explorer's League, ever eager to explore the uncharted wilds, document new creatures, seek out new rescources for the Alliance or uncover ancient mysterious ruins, has started the prepartion for an expedition to the Winterspring Valley. Posters are put in place and a call is issued for bold adventurers:
OOC information:
Yes, we've likely all been to Winterspring in our leveling days but when we were done with the quests there we moved on and didn't really bother with the zone anymore, a shame. Now with Cata on the way many zones might be changed forever, time to give 'em some love and attention then.
So, what's the expedition going to do there?
Explore the zone in an IC way of course, chart the terrain, catalog the creatures, explore the ruins..ect.
Sounds nice, what part can my character play?
ANything you like really, maybe your char is seeking treasure? Maybe get some exotic hides to craft something? An Archeaologist or a scolar interested in the Highborne ruins? An Elven ranger looking to protect the travellers on their path..ect.
When does it start and where do we meet up?
Saturday, 1 May. We start in Everlook at 19.00 and then move out.
You can leave or join in anytime during the event.
Do I have to bring anything special?
Do dress for the occasion if you can, get that explorer gear out of your bank!
I am Horde, can I come too?
You won't be understanding much of what we are saying anyway, but you are of course free to come and take a look, or maybe explore the zone IC while you are at it as well.

Explorer's League works on LABOR DAY!? What is this heresy!
And sounds great as always. Server needs more exploration/adventure events!

Relithien rubs his chin thoughtfully, before ripping the poster cleanly off the wall, crumbling it up in his fist and discards it
"Filthy dwarves, getting cheekier with the day.. they should stay the fuck away from Kaldorei ground, not like we organise a party in their backgarden and invite everyone"

I'll try to show up. A senator of Religion and Titan Exploration who is deeply affiliated with the Explorer's League should attend to such an event in person. Too bad my flying machine wont manage the long flight over the ocean.

Such an event should be taken place more offen, in different locations such as, Tanaris/STV/Silithus/Un'Guro Crater/Feralas/Mulgore/The Barrens it would be very amusing for all, and for everyone to come together, with a common goal.

Great event, really enjoyed it!
As for the future exploration: Swamp of Sorrows, Silithus, Badlands, Descolace, Feralas, Un`goro, Azshara as per what Drorin suggested. But why stop here? We have Outlands and Northrend too! Anything that might have a archeological significance to the Explorers League is good to be honest!

Well Outland is just......you get the idea . I'd go for Northrend, much more awesome place for Explorin' and anything for that matter.
