[A] Pre-Campaign training event

OOC: Howdy folks. So, as you can see, the campaign to re-take Stromgarde will be starting a little later than previously stated, but this is the first of many events.

The training night will feature melee combat, ranged combat and mounted combat training, along with the clearing out of Trogg camps to assess how well each unit works together. There is also a possibility of using a bunker in Thelsamar for some war games (much like paintball - as an example). We've invited quite a few people, most of whom belong to the guilds that have already agreed to be part of the overall campaign, but I wanted to open this up to any member of the Alliance.

So, if you think it's reasonable that your character would stumble across one of these notices (Likely to be found in major towns and cities in the Eastern Kingdoms at least - along with one or two headed for the Elves) and he or she would lend their sword to the cause, then do feel free to show up in Thelsamar at 20:00 on Wednesday, we'd love to have you!

Any further information regarding the event will be posted before the fateful day!

Is there a possibility of that this group would look to hire mercenary fighters to bolster their numbers?

If you appear on the above date there might be some room for discussion regarding it, or we can arrange a time for you to show up at our embassy beforehand to discuss stuff.

I'm not sure how much gold the guild has from an IC standpoint to throw around hiring mercenaries though. I'll have to chat with the other officers/they can drop in here and let you know!

The loyalty of Pandaren "mercenaries" comes quite cheaply. You just have to promise them adventure, booze or food. For guaranteed undying allegience, give them all three in advance.

There will quite likely be a w-pvp campaign to follow, yes. As for the proper dates, that is still to be firmly decided. Do expect an update on that shortly after this event, if not before

It seems that the loyalty of Pandaren isn't too far from Arathorians, so, you'll fit in just fine.

Neutrality is only fun insofar it gives you role-play. If it makes it so that you can't attend epic server-wide events, I don't want to hold on to it per se.

A big thank you to everyone that attended tonight! We had some fun, despite some parts of the event being a little clunky. You'll have to forgive us for that, it's been a while since we hosted an inter-guild event of this sort.

Full details of the campaign will be posted within the week. We'll have the dates, plans and we'll be asking about horde opposition, as well as any other guilds that would like to take part. We'll be contacting horde guilds over the next few days, but feel free to state your desire to be involved when the campaign post goes up
