Grim Stonepaw
Character name: Grim Stonepaw (Grim)
Alias: None
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown, even to himself. Appears between late 20's and early 30's
Race: Orc
Class: Battle-Shaman, ex-Blademaster
Birth region: Internment camps
Specific area/town: Unknown
Family: Bladewind Clan. Father: Grik Swordshatter (deceased). Mother: Brenne Swordshatter (deceased). Sister: Guk Swordshatter (deceased). Aunt: Dhaskha 'Spyder'. Brother: Nazgor Swordshatter (deceased, now a death knight). Nephew: Brok'law Swordshatter. Honour-Brother (Roéd Ar'Lavant Stonepaw).
Known friends or enemies: Friends: Thrakha Ironsong, Sakarah Mistrunner, Drek Skysplitter, Hikka Redeye, Himo Blackhorn, Mozrogg Doomhowl, Ghelgor Bloodfiend, Sylphi Searingheart
Enemies: Many and varied...
Description: Grim is of average height for an orc and of slim build, more wiry than hulking like many other male orcs. He walks with a pronounced limp originating from his left leg. Has one eye, coloured grey and a plain black eyepatch covering where the other eye used to be. His face is a mess of scar tissue and he has a long gingery-brown topknot and sideburns of the same colour.
He wears elementally imbued chain armour with plate strips to strengthen it and is rarely seen unarmed - usually with several knives, a shortsword and his trademark claws.
Personality: Irritable, quick to anger and often very blunt. Loyal to those he cares for, wear the Marauder colours or have proven themselves to him. Courageous and savage on the battlefield but often struggles in social situations. Is considerably more intelligent than many people first assume, though quite possibly isn't as intelligent as he thinks he is.
Often comes across as extremely moody, arrogant and self-confident.
History: Born in or shortly before the Internment Camps. Raised by his Aunt and taken to Orgrimmar where he eventually joined the ranks of the Grunts, before his skill with a blade drew the attention of the Blademasters who took him under their wing and trained him. Once he became a Blademaster he fought with distinction in Northrend, upon leaving Northrend for reasons unspoken he joined the Shatterskull Marauders. Within the Marauders he struggled with the hierarchy before battling his way to the top and after considerable plotting, fighting and deal-making served as the Shatterskull Marauder Chieftain's right-hand, war-leader and advisor. Soon after this it became apparent Grim was the Marauder Chieftain in all but name and this led to much bashing of heads between him and Thrakha Ironsong, the titular Chieftain.
Shortly after the Rebellion against Hellscream broke out Grim disappeared during an ambush on a Marauder patrol by the Kor'Kron. Several months later rumours reached the Marauders that Grim had been found and was being held prisoner by the night elves. This led to a rescue mission, headed by Catari of the Marauders - the mission was a success, though many night elves were slain and Catari was fired from her position as a commander of the Rebellion.
Upon Grim's return to the Horde he was made aware of the recent peace treaty with the Alliance. Enraged, he tried to walk away from the Rebellion but was arrested by the Orcs of the Red Blade on charges of oath breaking.
Incensed by this the Marauders freed Grim, who then successfully walked away from the Rebellion, taking many Marauders with him. These 'rebels against the Rebellion' lived rough, exiling themselves from the Rebellion and the Kor'kron. Calling themselves the Shattered Blades they mounted countless raids against the Alliance forces in the Barrens, as well as against the Kor'Kron.
Their raids against the Alliance caused a political emergency, one which the Rebellion were powerless to remedy.
Eventually Grim returned to the Marauders with his Shattered Blades and challenged Thrakha Ironsong, Chieftain of the Marauders to a duel to decide the Marauders' fate.
Grim lost the duel and was exiled permanently, though his followers were given amnesty. Luckily for Grim not one of his followers accepted the amnesty, all of them swearing to follow him into exile.
From these exiles Grim formed a new clan, the Blood Wolves!
Grim has led the Blood Wolves since then, tearing through Alliance territory in a bloody whirlwind. Under his leadership the Wolves have survived, though sometimes only just...
Things you may know about this character: You may have heard that Grim is a succesful commander, rarely having been defeated in battle. You may also know that this only applies to battles, not duels! Grim's severe injuries gained in a lifetime of war deny him the speed and agility he once knew but his talents truly show when leading warbands. You may also be aware that he's a diplomatic nightmare, having caused more than one crisis with the Marauder's allies and friends due to his short temper.
It will probably be known to your character that Grim is something of an outcast, having been rejected by the Rebellion and the Gathering. It may also be known that he formed and then helped lead the Ironbreaker Council of other disgruntled Horde warbands who were unwilling to be part of the autocracy that was the Gathering.
Things you may not know about this character: Lots!
Possible crime record: Has a habit of butchering prisoners, through contempt for what he perceives as cowardice in being captured and through necessity. Was once accused of murdering several elven children in Silvermoon, though he refused to stand trial and the elven investigators eventually found the real culprit.
Was also accused of being the cause of the death of Silvermoon civilians more than once. Once during the Rebellion and once when some bombs exploded in Silvermoon. Has also been accused of murdering an orcish child during the Rebellion.
The massacre of the elves during the Rebellion was indirectly Grim's fault, due to the Shattered Blades raiding a night elven settlement, which then caused them to respond by killing blood elves. The bombing of Silvermoon was due to a Blood Wolf goblin gone rogue and the murder of the orcish child was proven to be a lie instigated by one of Grim's enemies.
Grim was also accused of treason, treachery and oath-breaking. All these crimes were dismissed during a discussion with the Red Blade, Marauders and Flying Bolts.
Other information: Only feels at home in war and is usually a complete social retard. Has a long and convoluted family tree and history.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
