Description: Drustai is vain, and spends every morning dressing herself in elegant clothes, makeup, and sweet, rosy perfume, and has even used magic to artificially enhance her beauty. She has deep lavender skin, which is marred only by glowing arcane marks running up and down the outer edge of her arms and thighs. She has straight, silky dark purple hair, reaching just past her shoulders, which she keeps neatly styled in order to give it volume. She is lean and fit, and her tall height is accentuated by her raised horns and long tail. She is shapely, with wide hips and a large bosom (though, like many other things, both have been enhanced through her magic). She regularly keeps a proud posture around others, and a practiced, elegant gait that emphasizes the swaying of her hips. Her large, expressive eyes glow icy-blue, rather than white, and she has a depressive, wistful gaze. She speaks in a thick Eredun accent.

Since Drustai's become undead, her body has begun to rot and decay, growing thin and pale as her cold, dried-out skin clutches tightly at her bones. Her hair has likewise turned stark white, and has become wispy and stale. In an effort to hide what she has become, Drustai uses her magic to project an illusion of the beauty she once possessed. This illusion makes her look and feel like she once did, but there is a lingering sense of wrongness in her touch--her skin feels and looks almost waxy, too perfect. She did not initially fix her hair color, but has since begun dying it black again. Despite her efforts, there is no mistaking what she has become. Her chest does not rise or fall with breath, there is no pulse at her neck, and a cold, unholy aura pervades the air around her.

Drustai wears a variety of flowing robes and other elegant attire, occasionally suggestive and usually adorned with arcane or necromantic symbols like runes and skulls. She occasionally wears earrings and necklaces, but rarely any other jewelry. She regularly keeps her facial tendrils and tail unadorned, unlike many other draenei. When wearing a belt, she carries pouches filled with magical reagents of various kinds, as well as a spell tome, scroll case, wand case, and her blood dagger.

Personality: Drustai is distant, withdrawn, bitter, selfish, and power-hungry. She is a woman broken by her past, and who seems to find little joy in life despite her claims to the contrary. She can be very harsh around others, and this attitude wins her few friends. To most, she appears to be a solitary woman that is obsessed with magic--especially dark magic--and cares little for the plights and troubles of others.

In reality, Drustai is very insecure. She shuts herself away from the world out of fear of being hurt, and has spent most of her life struggling desperately to become something important. This lead her to magically altering her appearance to make herself more beautiful, and she often keeps letters or other mementos from people praising her for her accomplishments. She once joined the Burning Legion out of a desire to be part of something powerful and lifechanging, and her devotion to shadow magic stems from this desire to be special--she knows she stands out because it is "forbidden". It gives her attention and makes her feel important.

Despite her distant demeanour, Drustai does have a caring soul. She broke away from the Legion because she was horrified at the destruction she was causing, and the loss of her people during the Orc War devastated her. She longs for companionship, often seeking it in outcasts like herself, and is very protective of those few whom she is able to grow close to. Her pursuit of necromancy stems largely from her inability to cope with the loss of so many of her loved ones during the Orc War, as she sought the power to be able to save people from death (even if it means raising them to unlife against their wishes, as she did with Thelos).

Drustai's greatest fear, other than the fear of being normal and unimportant, is death. Though she is essentially immortal, Drustai's life has always been filled with death, whether dealing it to others or witnessing it take her loved ones. During her long time among the Auchenai, witnessing D'ore consume the spirits of the dead in the crypts, Drustai came to see "becoming one with the Light" as the destruction of one's individual identity, which terrifies her. This obsession has consumed her in recent years, and entire life has begun to revolve around her study of necromancy.

History: Drustai is an ancient draenei female. Born long ago on Argus, she witnessed the coming of Sargeras and the split between the man'ari eredar and the draenei. Though the draenei fled across the stars, Drustai remained, having chosen to side with the Burning Legion. She later came to regret her choice, after she witnessed first hand the cruelty and malice of the man'ari. She prayed for guidance and, with the assistance of the Naaru, managed to escape the Legion and rejoin her people. She became a devoted follower of the Light within the necropolis of Auchindoun on Draenor, and attempted to atone for what she viewed as an unpardonable sin.

Evil followed at Drustai's heels, however. The orcs were tricked by agents of the Burning Legion, and Drustai watched in horror as they slaughtered her people. She fell into a deep depression, one she has never truly recovered from, and, like many of her fellow Auchenai, turned to Shadow and began a quest for vengeance.

A century later, after the draenei joined the Alliance, Drustai fell to the Scourge after traveling to the frozen lands of Northrend in search of necromantic lore. She was risen as one of the Scourge’s death knights, and, while wielding the runeblade, Avaritus, participated in the annihilation of the Scarlet Crusade. She broke free of the Lich King’s domination during the Battle of Light’s Hope Chapel.

After the war against the Lich King, Drustai returned to the Exodar, reuniting with her commune, Ere Argus. Though her unholy condition disturbed many of her kin, they welcomed her with open arms as their sister. Drustai still struggled with the darkness in her soul, and the ravaging hunger that threatened to consume her sanity, but with their support she finally began to come to terms with everything that had happened to her. Her soul was released from the last shackles binding her to the Lich King when Farseer Sanara destroyed Avaritus.

However, in the time since, Drustai has continued to practice her dark arts in the hopes that she might be able to save her people. The darkness she refuses to leave behind threatens to pull her deep into its clutches once more.

• Drustai is a powerful arcanist, known to specialize in illusions and necromancy and having wide knowledge on fel magic and demonology. She is also knowledgeable in rune magic.
  
• Drustai is an Argus-born draenei.
  
• Drustai is part of the Ere Argus commune, and has previously worked with the Twilight Guard, Farahlon Reclamation, Ebon Shroud, and the Exodus commune.
  
• Drustai is undead and part of the Knights of the Ebon Blade, but has no runeblade. She is known to possess a phylactery or similar anchor, somewhere.
  
• Drustai has a worgen apprentice named Skarain.

Things you may not know about this character:

• Drustai's Legion history is very closely guarded. It is not public knowledge and only those that have been directly told by her know about it.
  
• Drustai left the Knights of the Ebon Blade over personal disputes with many of its members. This is not public knowledge.
  
• Drustai's regularly maintains a soulstone on herself. Only a few people have directly witnessed the revival process, and each time has seemingly been more painful. The process seems to greatly weaken her.
  
• Drustai's soul is horribly fractured from many years of dark magic use and several resurrections.
  
• Drustai was buried alive in a crypt by the Bleeding Hollow clan when they conquered Auchindoun. During this time she was forced to eat the bodies of her fallen kin in order to survive. She was eventually rescued by Exarch Maladaar's Auchenai remnants. She has told this story to very few people, and so it is not public knowledge.
  
• Drustai has used her magic to excavate a necromantic laboratory somewhere in Desolace. The laboratory includes a Plague Cauldron, which Drustai regularly feeds with skulls that she pilfers from battlefields. Only Skarain and Thelos have been to the lab, and so its location is not public knowledge.
  
• The reason Drustai can process foods is that she has actually replaced her former digestive system with one designed for ghouls and zombies. This allows her to "cannibalize" fresh corpses. For the sake of maintaining a civilized appearance, however, she prefers to have the meat prepared and cooked, even though she cannot taste any difference.
  
• Drustai was slain by the Scourge in Northrend, months before the end of the Burning Crusade. She had traveled there on her own to study necromancy under the Cult of the Damned, but attempted to flee when it was revealed that the initiation rituals would bind her will to the Lich King. She was chased down, slain, and risen as a death knight in the Acherus.
  
• Drustai is now working with Lady Estherat, after having departed from the Alliance. She finally left the Alliance because a magistrate tried to impose a sentence that would force Drustai and Skarain to stay away from each other.

One of my favorite characters on the server and certainly one I have owed some of my best role-play to; as both an antagonist and an ally, often simaltenously.
