Re: Character Profiles
Mmhyes, that could make it alot simpler.
I would add Quel'Thalas nonetheless, there are probably as many people who doesn't consider it part of the Lordaeron subcontinent as there are people who does! (which can lead to them being confused when searching.)

Re: Character Profiles
Well, I will add all the regions in the sub-sections description for people to find their specific region. And to make it easier I could simply name that one Lordaeron (and Quel'Thalas).

Re: Character Profiles
I think that works well. There's omission of the Cataclysm-era zones (Uldum in S. Kalimdor, Twilight Highlands in Khaz Modan, Tol Barad in Lordaeron and Vashj'ir in Other), but that was mostly my error for providing outdated maps.

Well then, using this as a base I will start making the forum with its sections so we can get population posts up and running!

Hm.
Perhaps in the profile chart you provided we could add Affiliation and birth nation/clan/tribe/cartel (I couldn't think of a collective word for that)?

I hate to be a spoil sport, but people move around.
likely would of been wiser to do it by Race.

The zones are for where they are born.

Indeed. For example, even though my character would largely reside within Durotar/Barrens (when circumstances don't dictate otherwise), he would be under the Lordaeron subsection due to being born in or around Lordamere Internment Camp. At least if I'm not misunderstanding things too much.

Re: Character Profiles
Would it not remain easier to do it by Race anyway? not everyone knows where other characters were born.
"oh i'd like to look over the orcs on this server"
Orcs were born in internment camps all over lordaeron, in blackrock mountain, kalimdor's numerous regions including north, south and central, even outland. Hell, probably northrend too during the last campaign. and yee gods, humans! what a nightmare.
No, i'm quite certain if you want to look up a paticular individual its best to look under the specific Race, aka... Human, dwarf, gnome, Kaldorei, Draenei, Gilnean, Orc, Tauren, Troll, Sindorei, Goblin, Pandaren.
Rather than screw around checking multiple sections because paticular factions want to gratify their existance with regional recoginition Via sub sections on a forum.

Re: Character Profiles
Perhaps for the sake of such things instead of going [A] Bismack or [H] Krogon make threads with going [Worgen] Bismack [Orc] Krogon
Dont see too much need of it myself tbh, but I guess if people would be really keen on finding their fellow race-bro's
Love the idea though btw, its annoying to always have to whisper people and find out if they'd have known eachother in gilneas

I have added a "Other information" for now. Otherwise we can keep adding things endlessly.

Re: Character Profiles
I agree with Krogon. I really think it should be divided by race, not 'province of birth'. Province is just going to result in a lot of empty or barely populated sub-forums.

Sadly that conflicted a tad with some races.

Yeah would seem like the most suitable thing.

Agree, sorting by race would be better. Pretty much the whole Blood Elf and Forsaken (and now that I think of it, Worgen) population will be housed in one single subforum, which will be a lot compared to a region such as Southern Kalimdor. I mean... was there even a single character in the DB population born in Uldum? :p

Re: Character Profiles
All this is becoming confusing now. I will simply sort it by all the playable races and then one category saying "other" for those odd ones out that play for example scourge or w/e.
Will get back to this tomorrow though, been starting to feeling sick tonight so I need to rest a bit.

Yes, it is over confusing and it will be spread to thin.
Let people specify the nations in their own personal file.

Re: Character Profiles
Could you rename 'Worgen' to Gilnean? Would make a lot more sense imo, because worgen isn't a race, but Gilnean is. And you could have a Stormwind human with the worgen curse, a Gilnean human without it, etc.
Re: Character Profiles
To be honest, I'd say that Worgen is actually the difference in race. Gilnean isn't a race, they're just as human as the rest of us :p

Re: Character Profiles
Kudos on the work you've put into it Saihna (and other mods involved). Though we have a wiki already, it could be interesting to see how this turns out (speaking of which, I suppose wiki links can be placed among the additional information as well).
Re: Character Profiles
Yeah links to wiki would be a nice thing too, so those that wish to are of course encouraged to link that on their character profiles.
Also, for those that have not noticed; The template I put up is longer then some have seen as there is a scroll on it. So if you can't see the full version do have a look there.

Thanks for all the hard work Julia! (And others who may have helped!)
I'm just realising how well written some of these profiles are and how mine pales in comparison!
Oh well, Vectoria's is up!
